A resolution of the dispute between Aril and Emmy96 is currently ongoing as we ‘speak’. Once it’s been fully resolved, an update will be posted here.

Thank you all for your contribution/s.

Greetings bosses,

I've got a dispute on a laptop I got from @Jamesilvar

On 23/05 he posted an item for sale and I had a private chat with him on it. In his ads which he posted in a WhatsApp group, be never stated that the laptop had any issue so I proceeded to chatting him. He never mentioned there was an issue with the laptop till I asked him. I made him realised that he didn't mention it and I already gave client price and all.
He said the laptop doesn't hold charge and needs battery replacement, staying the the battery was the issue with the laptop. He said battery replacement is the only thing to be fixed which I said I'll replace, I never agreed to fixing anything apart from the battery which he claimed to be the fault.

I was giving him updates about the whole thing, letting him know about every steps taken so that he as the seller is being kept informed "just in case" ...

Upon trying to replace the battery, after several trials, I discovered the battery wasn't the issue as earlier claimed by @Jamesilvar and I immediately reached out to him on the said matter, letting him realised that it wasn't what he claimed and I'll have to return the item.

He started giving different sort of excuses claiming that we didn't have an agreement on returning, then I made him realised that we didn't have an agreement on fixing anything that's not battery related. If he had told me it wasn't battery, I'd have backed off initially and now that it's evident that battery wasn't the issue, I have rights to return the item and get a refund.
He kept on insisting on not agreeing to that and I told him I didn't agree to anything outside battery.
I have been trying to reach him to have his item sent back to him so I get my refund but he stopped responding to my chats for days, (he doesn't even check/read) , I have called him several times as well but he has refused to pick my calls.
I decided to chat him with another number on WhatsApp and made my stand known on returning the item, he insulted me on this same issue and was telling me I should not bother him about it.

I'm bringing the matter here for attention of everyone so the public knows he is avoiding taking responsibility for a faulty item he sold under lies and still not wanting to take back.

Goodevening everyone.

I will try to keep this response brief.
Abimloaded contacted me for an Asus Rog Zephyrus laptop I posted. First contact was in April 25, I sent him pics he said someone will contact me. I dunno if the person did or not cos many persons contacted me for the same deal but everyone backed out once I told them the Laptop’s condition. Fast forward to may 23, he contacted me again asking about the laptops I posted, I replied him. He asked about the availability of the Asus again I told him it’s available. He messaged me if the there are any issues with the laptop. At first I was thinking he was talking about one of the MSI laptops I posted as well. When he pointed out he is talking about the Asus I told him the battery doesn’t hold charge that I believe I told him before. He was disappointed and said I never mentioned it to him. I told him sorry I thought I had told him before because I have always told everyone who contacted me for the deal the reason they all backed out. Many of them will be viewing this topic. We discussed further I told him battery replacement should fix the issue. we also spoke on the phone and I told him that’s how the laptop landed and as I am not in lagos I haven’t pursued the Laptop’s issue and cos of that, I am selling as it is, though I believe battery replacement should fix the issue. He made payment and laptop was delivered to his contact. He received it and tested it everything was working as described.
He told me it was taken to CV, tested the first battery it wasn’t working, tested the second it also wasn’t working, they got a third one it will charge and stop.
When he couldn’t sort out the battery issue, he contacted me again that he wants to return the laptop because he thinks it’s not a battery issue. I reminded him that our deal was done on that monday and we didn’t have any agreement to such. He kept insisting he will return the laptop that the problem is not what I said it’s the problem. I quickly reminded him the problem as I stated is that LAPTOP BATTERY DOESN’T HOLD CHARGE. Whether laptop replacement fixed the issue or not is not my concern because he should have thought of the risk before making the purchase.

I then asked him assuming he had fixed the laptop and sold it well, would he have remitted some of his profits to me in view of the fact that I sold to him at a huge loss? Business is a pool of risks and you don’t chest more than you can bear.
He said I insulted him this morning, yes I told him he was stupid. That was because he messaged me and was threatening me about how he will deal with me and my business, that I will hear from him on NL, WhatsApp and other Social Media. Where does he know me from?
My business with him is done, I don’t really care what he does with the laptop, as far as I am concerned if he can’t fix it or he can eat it.

Whether he sells for profit or not, its not your concern. To my knowledge, you told him the old battery doesn't hold charge that it needs a replacement.. He got it, changed the battery and still didn't change anything..
So there is more to it than the battery, he's just a middleman not the end user.

Do you have screenshots to back this up?

Cos from the screenshots he sent, you told him that the laptop needs a battery replacement, even you just said it now..

He also claimed to have carried you along while fixing the battery, which imo means, he never bought the laptop "as it is" from you

Or am I missing something?

My business with him is done, I don’t really care what he does with the laptop, as far as I am concerned if he can’t fix it or he can eat it.

You NEVER mentioned that you're selling as it is. You only stated that battery needs a replacement as an issue with the laptop. "It doesn't hold charge" hence the need for battery replacement.

We agreed on replacing battery because it's believed to be the issue with the laptop. If otherwise stated, it won't happen.

I never agreed to fixing anything outside replacement of battery. I asked questions and then I updated you on the progress made so far on it "Just in case" which signifies that it's an open deal if it happens battery replacement doesn't fix the issue.

Find the "just in case" in part of the screenshots attached.

I dare you to send a proof stating I agreed to buy from you regardless of what comes after replacing battery.

I'd not disturb you if I had replaced battery and it solved the not holding charge which was believed to be the issue.

As for the insults you hurled, that's btw. I already told you what you need to do.

He only told me battery doesn't hold charge, hence, a need for battery replacement.

Nowhere he mentioned selling as it is.

I attached a proof. Let him come out with his proof where he stated he's selling as it is. He's trying to bring that narrative through the back door now.
