Hi everyone. So I'm trying to apply for a visitor's visa for my family for a trip to the UK this summer and I am somewhat confused as to what to fill in here for my daughter:

1. What is the total amount of money you spend each month?

2. How much money are you personally planning to spend on your visit to the UK?

3. How much money will they be paying towards your visit?

The trip is for a family of 5, fully sponsored by myself and the hotel accommodation charges are about 925 British Pounds for an 8-day trip.

I would like to know what the amount to budget for the trip should be for an income of about 830k per month for a trip of 5 people fully sponsored by myself. Can the 2.5 - 3x disposable income rule (6k British Pounds) be strictly adhered to in this case for this number of people (5)? Any contribution would be highly appreciated

NB: I already got my 2-year visitor's visa.

Good afternoon all,

Please there’s something that has been troubling me about my visit visa application. I’m a first time applicant.

I used the business visit route, and I showed a letter from my company stating that they would cover the cost of the trip. I didn’t submit a bank statement because I didn’t know it was necessary. Does not automatically disqualify me? Is there a way I can attach my bank statement now? After biometrics?.

Dear Gurus, please advice.

Pray for favour. There's nothing you can do now. Next time, include your bank statement. Very important

1. What is the total amount of money you spend each month? - put like N10,000

2. How much money are you personally planning to spend on your visit to the UK? - Insert like 1,200 pounds. If that is your budget for her

3. How much money will they be paying towards your visit? - Repeat the 1,200 pounds. The question is confusing but that is what I always insert for my children

Any contribution would be highly appreciated - you need to be very very conservative. I would say 1,200 per person is reasonable. That gives you a total of 6,000 Pounds for all of you. Your stated income is not a lot so I advise you to emphasis your savings. Put a comment that you have been saving for the trip and show evidence of how you accumulated the money. Good luck!

NB: I already got my 2-year visitor's visa.

1. Please I need the right link to use for the application - check gov. uk
2. How much is the cost and how do I make payment? - 100 pounds for 6 months. If it is her first time, best she applies for 6 months.
3. Can I save and continue later with form filling and document upload if I can't finish at once? - definitely. You can fill the form bit by bit
4. The documents she needs to provide - she needs to provide her bank statement and other documents to prove what she does in Nigeria and why she is not a flight risk to the Uk
5. The documents her son needs to provide (NB: The son is a citizen) - data page of his international passport and an invitation letter for her. Some people include utility bills but it is not necessary.
Please help a sister. Thank you all

Am glad you went with the last page. That page is important as most have said. Hence why it has an “applicant and officials ” signature and date bit on it.

Strange. In my own case, they took only the first page of the checklist. I even asked about the other pages and the lady said they don’t need them.

I think that last page is for DHL delivery.. because she told me to write my mailing address on same page..

Thank you very much ma. I did my calculations for the return ticket fee and hotel charges and it amounted to 953 GBP per person using the Oanda exchange rates. Would a budget of 1,000 or 1,050 GBP per person be reasonable or unrealistic considering the fact that I am yet to add the cost of feeding and other sundry expenses such as transportation for the period to it? Please, advise. Thanks.

- ok, that's fine. I assumed you will stay with someone and have accomodation sorted. Apologies for that assumption. In that case, you can bump it up to about 1,600. But make sure the figure is realistic viz a viz your income and savings.

@cashmadam is right, i stated 5 times my monthly income and wrote a letter stating i had saved for the trip and attached evidence with source of funds.

I had a very good balance in two savings account which i added to support my application. My daughter's visa is ready and my son and i are still waiting and hoping for good news this week.

The amount of money you need in your account is dependant on many factors - how long are you planning to stay in the UK? Do you have free accomodation? How much do you earn every month? How much do you spend every month?

My advise - depending on how much you earn, a conservative estimate of about 1,500 pounds for 10 days vacation sounds reasonable to me. However, you need to provide details of your expenses and ensure the 1,500 pounds is really realistic. if it is too low, trouble. Too high, trouble.

If you can provide more details, perharps I can advise further.

Must apply before the the current visa expiration
Waiting period from the site is 8 weeks and you will want to add some weeks due to the delay being experienced recently. So no specific date mentioned from the site. Thank you

Thanks so much ma, I intended to stay for 15days. I have someone that will accommodate me for the period.
Am into buisness, but after my monthly expenses I can boost of 300k extra in my acct. I spend roughly 50k per month for house runs.

Also I have a cousin in Australia that want to sponsor me, will his statement of account be relevant as part of the document am to submit along with my own statement of acct. Or my statement alone can cover me.?
Or can he just give me the money directly to my account?
Thanks ma for more enlighten
