Bro let me tell you. HIV is not a death sentence. You can live as long as you want. Just eat healthy foods take your Antiretroviral medication.
When you pass the first stage of the virus treatment/management, the second stage should present you with a low viral load in which you can't infect anyone again.
HIV treatment and management is free. Don't hide it, go for your treatment at any government or general health center for your treatment.
Eat well and don't skip medication after commencement. Exercise regularly to boost your immune system. Eat lots of fruits also. Good luck to her.

The problem is not that she has HIV, it's the lack of treatment. if she's taking her meds, she will look normal, and her Viral load can go to untransmissible. Meaning that machines won't even be able to detect that she has the virus, and she can never infect anyone while having sex. Please! educate her the way i explained to you. I have a friend who's currently married to an HIV negative woman. Most pple don't know, but taking medications is the miracle they seek for.

It's unfortunate that someone with access to the internet still choose to reason like a primitive being. Even if it's not his sister how does her HIV status affect staying in the same house if they are grown ups that can maintain personal hygiene and make sure she is getting her drugs regularly.
This type of stigma is the reason why people are keeping their status secret, not going to hospital for drugs and just roaming about spreading the virus.

She was scared and ran, there is nothing to worry about, her immune system is probably so low with a high viral load therefore making it easy for opportunistic infection. All you need to do is to show he care, take her to a federal government hospital to run a test and then be on Anti~retroviral pills immediately.

You will lose her if you start playing the blame game, once she is able to be calm and take her pill daily, she will be perfectly fine and back to life.

You need to tread softly with her so you can get every information you need from her to enable you know how best to handle the situation. She probably returned home because she had been told she doesn't have much longer to live. The swollen feet (maybe kidney problem) is probably a complication of the HIV, which I suspect may be full blown AIDS now. Take her to LUTH if you are in Lagos. I pray God will restore health to her.
