To those saying i was probably drunk.

I don’t take alcohol or do drugs.
I only smoke cigarettes. Not even weed or stuffs like dat. Just cigarettes alone.
Ordinary 1 bottle of star will spin me 360degrees.
So i wasn’t drunk o
I no dey take alchol o

Phc is dangerous at night, so me tryna speed up back to my hotel room wasn’t expecting a truck to be parked on the speedlane of a highway (4lane road).
Major highway at 2am.

But honestly still can’t explain how i came out unscathed.
And i came out almost immediately after the impact. No blackouts whatsoever.
Though i had my seatbelt on.

My dear, you will still need to go to a good hospital for total examination. Sometimes internal injuries don't manifest immediately. The earlier you do it the better for you!

Good day all.

I want to share with you all what the Lord did for me yesterday o.

While at PHC on a business trip from calabar.
I arrived phc on sunday and decided to sit out with friends on Wednesday night. After dropping my friends at their house and heading to my hotel room with the aid of the google map, a truck was parked on the speedlane at attilary road at phc at about 2am without having backlights or even putting c-caution.

While trying to look at my phone to check where i was heading to and moving at about 100km/hr, as soon as i lifted my head up, a truck was parked at the speedlane with NO backlights and caution sign placed on the road.

And that was how i rammed into the truck. But to the glory of God, i came out unscathed. No injury sustained at all.

The police said i was wrong to have rammed into the truck from behind regardless of where it was parked or even if it was stationary. They said i ought to have been more careful.
Buh i thank God, i am alive, my car got destroyed, but I sustained no injury which is most important.
I thank God for your life, even the cigarette make u try stop that one too

See this post.
Exactly same thing I talked about few days ago.

Idiọts just abandon a broken down truck in the fast lane of a highway!
Fast lane o. Not by the roadside.
Is this a normal society? Nobody does anything about this, as if it is normal.

I drive cars overseas, and I am not exaggerating that this cannot happen in the country where I reside presently.
Once a vehicle breaks down on the highway, it is treated as an emergency by all authorities including police, emergency response service, vehicle recovery units, you name it!

Don't be surprised that 24hours after this incident, that truck will still remain there.
You are right bro. Nigerians are fond of neglecting even the most serious of danger. Everyone with his or her I don't care attitude and when it results to death or injury we will start screaming to high heaven. We all as Nigerians can do better

Point of correction. Portharcourt isn't dangerous at night, let alone Aba road around artillery.
Your fault was doing 100km per hour and looking at Google maps at the same time. That's insane.
You really played kalokalo with your life.

Don't blame the police, you have said it all.
You were not concentrating which is bad. You don't press a can up to 100km/h and drive into where is not visible to you.
Thank God for your life.
Try to give the remaining part of your life to God in a genuine way. Don't give your life to God in the Nigeria way, give it genuinely.
Nigerians Christians are hypocrites, that is why God is blessing other countries who don't go to church and don't know him more than the Nigeria Christians.
Nigeria Christian are only Christians in the church and demons outside the church. All what they know how to do is to blame a higher evil like bubu and forget their own evils

OP is the type of people that I usually give bad looks on the way.. u don't know your way, u were on speed lane and also checking your phone...

No wonder my driving instructor told me those days that I should drive like everyone else is mad.. that I was the only sane person on the road..

If everyone should drive like they were the only one whose head is correct, we will have so many careful motorists on many roads..

It's because they don't set the truck ablaze that's why. That Artillery is known for such thing. I don't know how we got this bad.. As in to abandon a faulty truck in the middle of the road for days without sign or removal.
That same thing killed two people not long ago at that same artillery coming down from the bridge towards Rumuibekwe.
I said to myself, if it was someone I know that thing happened to, I will set that truck on fire before morning let everyone lose! The truck was there for another two days even after killing people. My brother, you're just lucky aswear

I understand i have my own faults. I got distracted by the google map on my phone.

But was the truck meant to park on the speedlane. And even if it developed a fault, he ought to have used his caution sign and double pointer, atleast that could have alerted me earlier to what was infront of me.

Modified
I’m not downplaying the fact that i was wrong in certain aspect, but i feel more of the blame should have been on the driver for being careless by not taking the appropriate steps to prevent an accident.

A car / truck or whatever can breakdown at anytime, so that’s where the safety kits of the vehicle comes into use. And the driver used none. If he had placed the caution sign atleast 150m from the truck, probably if i had hit that first, that would have prompted me quicker to raise my face and possibly avert the collision. That was my argument with the police. But they kept saying i was wrong to have hit a vehicle from behind. That it shows I wasn’t focused on my driving and completely neglecting the careless driver.

I just carried my cross and left. Atleast I’m not at the hospital treating a fractured bone or internal bleeding or anything at all.

Well in all, i just thank God for giving me a 2nd shot at life

That truck could have been a cow or a bunch of people crossing or a child. Will they have to put up C cautions?

You were distracted and didnt focus on the road, more so, how long did you stare at your phone for?

Lets thank God no one got hurt. Sorry for the damages and I pray you get a better machine.

In other climes, you could get you six penalty points on your licence for using a handheld device and for careless driving or excessive speeding probably another 3 points. Insurance will refuse to pay out for your repairs as well.

Your submission is enough evidence for the authorities to process you for traffic offences.
A perfect example of when police officers say someone “talked themselves into a ticket” grin

This is why when driving a vehicle any momentary lapse in judgement or concentration could result in a serious or fatal collision.

Keep your eye on the road and stop twiddling with your phone.
