Hmmmmm

This hyping ehhh

Na tomorrow we go see

Robo. No shaking. Nnadozie needs no hypes since WC 2019.

A GK that just came off a brilliant season in the French women's topflight where she emerged as the Best GK revelation in the entire French Division 1 feminine and led her club, Paris FC to a 3rd place finish to secure a UWCL qualification slot.
They play on August 18 in the UWCL qualifying round vs Servette with eyes on the group stages. Chiamaka played a big part in getting them there.

So no be beans. She will deliver.

I'd like to see your preferred lineup for the game tomorrow...

It all depends on how the coach wanna set us up. Will it be 352/532, or would it be 442 or a 433 as we saw against SA which didn't just click.

Now, for me, if Oshoala won't be available, I will do the following below:

In a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1...

GK - Nnadozie

CB - Ebi
CB - Ohale

LB - Plumptre
RB - Alozie

(I will keep Plumptre at LB coz she's levels above Ogbonna. LEVELS!! But if Plumptre is to pair Ebi then Ohale falls to the bench and Ogbonna comes in at LB).

CDM/CM - Christy Ucheibe
CDM/CM - Halimatu Ayinde
CAM - Rasheedat Ajibade

(Chikwelu OUT!!! Okobi is an option. Otu is an option. Efih is last resort. Chikwelu never again, never again!!!)

LW - Toni Payne
RW - Francesca Ordega

ST - Ifeoma Onumonu.

(Provided Oshoala is OUT unfit)

In a 352/532...

GK - Nnadozie

CB - Plumptre
CB - Ebi
CB - Ohale

LWB - Toni Payne
RWB - Michelle Alozie

CM - Christy Ucheibe
CM - Halimatu Ayinde
CM - R. Ajibade

CF - Ifeoma Onumonu
CF - Vivian Ikechukwu

(Again. Provided Oshoala is UNFIT. Monday Gift is another option but will start Vivian ahead of her in this setup. Uchenna Kanu is not to be forgotten too. Macleans is fine potential but still a greenie).

Classic 442? My First XI will look like...

GK - Nnadozie

LB - Plumptre
CB - Ebi
CB - Ohale
RB - Alozie

LM - Payne
CM - Ucheibe
CM - Ajibade
RM - Ordega

CF - Ifeoma Onumomu
CF - Vivian Ikechukwu/Uchenna Kanu

(AGAIN, Provided Oshoala is UNFIT).

In all... it's my preference and I have tactical reasons why. But it is up to Waldrum and his grandma Assistant in the end. Depends on the set-up they go for.

Don't forget we set up like this (below) from the start vs Canada for the two games earlier this year. Both 532/352 set-ups but consider that we did so this way because Canada are a more Superior team

1st frame: 2-0 loss

2nd frame: 2-2 draw

Another funny thing is we actually had more ball possession in the loss than we had in the draw. Not more than Canada. I mean, comparing our possession in both games. But we were clearly more direct and more fluid in transition in the 2-2 draw than in the loss.

Tomorrow, we play Botswana. Not Canada. We are superior in every facet but we must be wary of their youth and speed.

Sad! We wish Asisat a speedy recovery. Its been a very tough year for her, injury wise. Inspite of this, she has worked hard and still crowned herself in glory.

For me, this just reinforces my belief that Nigeria will make it to the finals. And if we happen to meet the South Africans again, we WILL beat them black and blue. And after watching the match again yesterday night, I am even more convinced of this.

She actually made the list. Chrestinah Kgatlana is Thembi Kgatlana. Same lady.

6 SA'ans made it and you think Kgatlana won't be there? That would have been sacrilegious. Lol

I'm glad my Favorite Banyana, Linda Motlhalo made the list. Fine Cerebral baller.

As it stands, it is indeed an open race coz Ajibade even outshone favorite, Kgatlana at club level for Atletico femenino in the Spanish Primera Division feminina.

It could, like you said, come down to who lifts the Wafcon/Awcon title and has strong performances in the competition. The Moroccan girls and other SA ladies are to be watched out for as well.

Bravo!
You are spot on and confirmed you actually played and understand the subtle nuances of the game, and most especially, the art of defending.
Thanks for your analysis, particularly the emboldened.

...and perhaps, a particular gentleman on this forum could learn a thing or two from you. grin grin

labas370:
I can't fault Alozie for the second goal. I was in my uni female team. Played lot of female tournaments both regional, national, continental and club tournaments. The type of situation Alozie found herself always occur often in female football. And in that situation, the defender can only do one thing and success of the defender's action solely depends on the opponent's decision.

Either the defend tries to block the route for a through pass inorder to allow the ball carrier to proceed ahead hoping for her teammates to come for defensive rescue, or the defender tries to directly mark her opponent that is with the ball. If you observe, this usually happen when the opponent team is on counter attack.

Alozie did what any defender would have done that is trying to block that pass. The main culprit for that goal is Ohale. She was no where to be found
but again, it's not her fault. IT'S THE COACH'S FAULT.

First goal, plumptre was noticably tired and over stressed. The first goal is the coach's fault. Rita was -1 as an AM, -1 as CM and -1 as DF. Her in that pitch affected all the players in defense, midfield and striking department.
Ayinde was to sit back and protect the defense, Ajibade was to play the box2box while Rita as AM. Ajibade, Onomonu and Payne were doing Rita's work as AM. Ayinde was doing Ajibade's work as CM while plumptre/Alozie even Ohale were doing Ayinde's work as DM. That's what caused both the first and the second goal.

That coach is very mad and stupid. Imagine this useless coach coaching Brazil or Spanish female team and his only tactics is long ball. They will sack him. They wouldn't even hire a coach like that because his ideology is different from their samba football and tiki taka.
Same should be for Nigeria. We only need to get coaches that have same or similar football ideology like ours. I noticed from our game against Portugal that once those girls threw away that his stupid tactics and started playing more on the ground, they were able to control that game and squeezed out a draw. Same against second match against Canada and even against USA. Same shit yesterday.

Compare this coach with the present super eagles coach, i will say, this current super eagles coach has a poor CV but one of the keys to his success will be him having same football ideology with Nigerian which is more of keeping the ball on the ground than those useless long balls.

This stupid coach haven't done anything impactful for our SF instead, they have depreciated a lot. Imagine getting scared of Botswana, South Africa etc.
Next will be him giving stupid media press like rohr and glorifying small small African countries like football giants.

That other mad man at NFF should do and go away. The most useless NFF president.

Rivers Angels obviously won't get club of the year. They didn't do well in the continental competition and were knocked out in the group stage.

Zambia is better than this Tunisian team.

They are trying to force these two north African teams into the QF stage.

There was nothing like blocking. The player didn't interfer with the ball. Even the commentators were surprised.

Racing Louisville (USA) have signed Thembi Kgatlana (26) from Atlético de Madrid Femenino.

The Banyana Banyana attacker has signed a two-year deal with an option to renew.

NWSL defenders: Look out.

We’ve signed Thembi Kgatlana, the 2018 Africa Cup of Nations Player of the Tournament, on a transfer from Atlético Madrid.

“We were looking for a winger/forward who has a good first touch and is not afraid to dribble and attack – and we have found exactly that with Thembi.”
