That last comment is the reason why I don’t see the problem in the title.

One has a good job here, still commodities are rising in price, there is no electricity because our discos (aptly named) keep fluctuating in power generation and to top it off, one can die from lack of emergency health services. My friend, you are better off in a developed nation.

My sisters brag to me that expatriates can vote in UK elections because their government believes the more the merrier. Abeg, tell me why I should bother myself with APC vs PDP when I can play an active role in building the developed nation playing host to my existence?
people still die in developed nations. you will be called names like monkey, negro paki, immigrant e.t.c on a daily basis

Don’t mind them. Another Twitter fairytale who go abandon 24million naira per year salary and travel to UK to go start afresh? When it not as if such a person is under a spell.

With 24million naira per year you can rub shoulders with a politician in Nigeria nah

Real superstory fairytale

All of you making noise over 24m per annum. That is 2m a month for a family man in Lekki. His wife is a Branch Manager. That doesn’t mean she is an AM or even a Manager. She could as well be an ABE or a BE.

Some of you had banker mothers and custom fathers. They were considered rich in their time, but now, all they have is a country home and old glory.

Are you telling me that you wouldn’t like it if your parents made this same move 35 years ago when it was easier?

I don’t know of UK though. I have honestly never met anyone from the UK that is that “rich”. Just comfortable at best. Americans are the main ballers I see. Even on Upwôrk, American clients pay the highest most times. But then, money is not always the (only) motive.

Thats a senior management remuneration ...
make una no dey cap any how jarè....People always like fabricating worst case scenarios to prove a point ..

His relocation is due to ignorance. They think abroad holds something better but for him to achieve the equivalent standard of living in the UK, he might need to earn at least triple the sum he makes here

A 4 bedroom terrace in West London was 4,000 pounds a month in 2020. That's about ₦2 8m a month. That's more than his salary here alone. And that's a terrace, not a wing of a Duplex or a fully detached house.

Living in Nigeria is very risky. If you can, leave as soon as possible. Don't be deceived by those who are stuck

Would you relocate to UK if you are living like this guy in Nigeria. I mean Lekki tho? Would you travel

[quote author=FirstSon01 post=114929856] As the general elections draw nearer, the citizens look forward to choosing an amiable leader to take the reins of the nation and provide succor to the populace amid the lingering economic, security, religious and ethnic crisis in Nigeria.
A leader that can save Nigeria has emerged. His name is Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the best candidate in the three main parties.

Why you need to vote for Atiku/PDP.

We in the PDP have seen all it takes to move Nigeria forward and our candidate reflects it.

1) Atiku is not tribalistic or religiously inclined.
The other two candidates are very tribalistic and religiously inclined. PO drove northerners from Anambra, they've not forgotten. Tinubu feels christians are inconsequential but Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a unifier, he married an Igbo Christian wife and has many youths, and a diverse community of people around him.

which atiku Again na
atiku wey loot enough

I know of a lady that works in access bank, she was one of their big staff, she earns 400-500k monthly. She left the job to uk for masters. She and her husband
in this case , 500k is not really a big money tbh. Depends on the bills you pay .

In the op case , I don’t think money really matters to him,
As you get richer priority changes ..
Security, adventure etc might be the reason

Minimum wage in the UK is no where near £20,000/year.

Don't take my word for it, verify your own claim here: https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates

9.50 an hr ... 9.50 x 8hrs = 76 pounds a day
75 pounds × 22 days/month =1670/month
1670 pounds x 12 months = 20000 pounds

Until you get to the UK and work everyday with stress and problem in Nigeria you left.

I know of someone who relocated himself and family to Canada this year
Guy is a big boy by every Nigerian standard , has a house in Lagos and doing very well
I was shocked when I learnt he travelled to Canada
I called him after he left and asked him some questions and he told me and I quote
' I did this for my children , not me persay '
See ehnn , there are some heights you want your children to attain in this life such that you just have to travel out of a third world nation to a developed nation
Take for example , if you want your child to take sports as a career , say like basketball , swimming or ice skating , can they attain such height in Nigeria that does not even have facilities for that ?
hmmm. You just changed my mentality tonight . Thank you and God bless you,

I’m in America but I can assure you that Whites in Europe or America wouldn’t relocate to Nigeria for that amount of money. The 34,000 Europeans in Nigeria includes families of expats and are there because they were probably offered astronomical amounts of money. If the amount the guy was being paid was so desirable to Whites, no Nigerians would hold those positions because Whites would’ve gone there and taken them all.
