What I noticed from the data is that the Public schools have lower pass rate than private schools which is exactly what we have been saying about deteriorating education in the public sector.

Also, in South East & South South region, they have a very high percentage pass rate (89% & 88%) in their public schools and this is somehow commendable coz that high percentage will be difficult to imagine.

You read and analyzed data very well. SS/SE have close to 90% pass rate for public schools. It means that govts are getting good ROI in public education.

The National Bureau of Statistics release the WAEC result statistics few days ago for 2021 data and that was where StatiSense also did the data analysis for the WAEC result Statistics they released few days ago.

However, StatiSense do not give all the true picture of the statistics as intended.

From the Data released from NBS, the SouthWest has the highest number of students that sat for WAEC and also the highest number of students that have 5 credits and above including English & Maths. This is followed by the South South Zone

Form the charts, it can be seen that the SW has more students taking WAEC in private schools than in public schools based on the data. The SW is the only region that had this kind of trend. Other region usually have more public students than private taking WAEC.

I was a teacher before in Ibadan,i have teach in more than 4 secondary schools and i can confidently tell you there are large number of non indigenes secondary schools across ibadan,especially private schools.Last year jamb south east and south south have the highest number of candidates with 180 and above minimum requirement for admission to universities in Nigeria.

What I told you is that Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo has the highest number of students that sat for WAEC in 2021 and they also have the highest number of students that had 5 credit and above including Engl. & Maths.

Check your chart and learn. Lagos got 55,795 and Oyo got 55,057 and those are the two topmost states.

Shinedu, if 100 people are getting into universities per year, what that meant is that Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo students will take the highest share if hypothetically all that pass WAEC will get enrollment into universities/Polytechnic.
