Good day everyone, may 14th applicant here smiley
It's been 4 months since I applied for my study permit.
And the last update I got was BVL yesterday sad.

You got BVL yesterday and you are frowning? Don’t be ungrateful and start thanking God for what he has done for you because your wait is coming to an end

Greetings to Everyone,

Please I have a flight schedule for next week. The flight details is: Delta Airlines, from Lagos to Canada. There will be a stop at Atlanta, USA.

My question is: I only have a Canada study visa. I am not a Canadian citizen or Permanent resident. Will I have issues stopping in the US as I am aware of the transit visa requirements. The flight was booked for me from the US. I have argued with my relative that booked this flight that I believe I will need a transit visa to stop in the US and she had to call Delta Airlines in the US and an immigration officer in Atlanta Airport to find out, and they assured her that I won't have any issues. But I can't deny I am still a little skeptical about this. Please, has anyone fly to Canada through the US without a transit visa?

Thanks ❤

Hello Needadvice00,

I'm indeed elated to be a part of your testimony. When I went through your past application, I saw a few errors which I believe if you could correct, your next submission would go in your favour - that was the reason for the long phone call.

I am grateful for the shout-out, but could you please share your experience here?: https://www.nairaland.com/5813716/share-experience-josh-writing-services

My appreciation in advance, and wish you safe flight.
Done with thanks

Good morning. Please I need advice from the experts I started online class this May thinking my study permit will be out before September naw my eligibility just started and my school has withdrawn my admission saying I should reapply but when I tried reapplying my dashboard was saying deferral still in progress. What do I do and will it affect my visa chances. Thank you

So if you order at 6 weeks, VO will beat you? Or your visa will be denied? Abeg
Nobody will beat you, but how will they give you conclusion of what they've not concluded yet, and of cause they're still working on it

Oga, you are not informed so please relax and let people that know school you. So you don’t know that when you order notes before 12 weeks, it helps prevent refusal on cases where you didn’t submit some documents? Don’t open your mouth and say what you don’t know. Ordering notes have nothing to do with rejection except you want yours to be rejected. When you order your notes… you see VO’s concerns and tackle it on time before a decision is made on your application. People order notes and see that they didn’t send proof of employment or payment etc and they quickly send it in before a decision is made, if you don’t order your notes… you won’t know this and so therefore a decision will be made. Also if you don’t order for your notes, you can as well be rejected so don’t tie rejection to ordering notes. If you are not well informed, allow others to school you… As if you haven’t seen application that took less than 2 months. Current processing time is 12 weeks… you order notes on week 6, it will take another 4-5weeks to come or more… then your application will be 11weeks, making is 1 week short of 12weeks plus you didn’t commit a crime by ordering them.. So my dear, some of us do things on time… we don’t like to be late, we want to see what’s happening to know if there is anywhere to tackle… the most important thing is doing our part and best

So you think if VO have not gotten to your number on the queue, or brought up your file to Start working on your application because you ordered notes he'll be forced to do all that?
Most time application delay is not really that anything is wrong but it just have not gotten to your turn. Canada is actually not Nigeria they do things accordingly. I believe they consider so many factors before attending to applications, that's why some may come faster or slower.
Note they will always tell you, you have nothing more to do, we'll notify you if we need further information. Meanwhile its my view, gurus may aswell correct me where I'm wrong.

Since your application is below the average processing time (12 weeks), you can just call IRCC to get an update on the status of your application.
Please number to reach them

August 5, 2023 Applicant.
Upfront medicals.
Biometrics done on August 9, 2022 and updated same day.
Upfront medicals passed on August 25, 2022.
Seen several about 8 " Your application status has changes" in my account. However, upon opening my account, no single update.
My account is always showing "A message about your application is waiting for you".
This has been a serious concern for me. Pls gurus in the house, what is the interpretation of these messages without any visible updates?
Thank you all.

you need a transit visa, so don't bother taking the flight, book other airlines that won't transit through the US

I believe this will help, you need a transit visa, except the airline is saying you are not getting off the plane.

Are you aware current official processing time for study permit is 12 weeks, 12 weeks is equal to 3 months.
How do you order notes when your job is in progress?
No go use your hand reject your own application

The bolded is a very wrong take. Ordering your GCMS notes at any time whatsoever has absolutely no impact on the decision of your application.

I think you need a transit visa (C1 visa) except you come from a visa waiver country. Below is a link to educate yourself on the Transit visa.

It turns out that the person who called the IRCC office in Canada and got an update on their application status applied via SDS. It doesn't work for those who applied via non-SDS because they don’t give updates on applications processed outside Canada.

Has anyone here tried calling IRCC offices outside Canada? Do they give updates on application status like the IRCC office in Canada?
