The fact that Antony did the same thing as the other two shows it was more of a tactical thing. Rashford has never pressed ever since we've reverted back to the counter attack style. It's basically saving energy for the moment the opportunity arrives to make that run.

A lot of things looked wrong in that game. There was too much of a space between our attack and the rest of the team. They played far from each other also.


The most important thing is, a midfield of Bruno Eriksen and Mctominay away to City was a very terrible idea. Should have been one of Bruno and Eriksen for Casemiro. A lot of people said it but we all thought it's better to go with the winning team. But there's a difference between playing Arsenal at home and playing City at Ethiad. That was very naive.

I agree with the part in bold. In retrospect it should have been Casemiro and McTominay and one out of Bruno and Eriksen.

In terms of the pressing issue i am not sure that ETH gave clear instructions cos it looked like they didn't know whether to press or to sit back with the effect being they did neither. Nothing can excuse the lack of effort though. Nothing.

Ten Hag obviously made a mistake. Or we wouldn't have gotten schooled like that. Even Crystal palace or Aston villa didn't get trashed like that cuz they knew what to expect.

We literally went into the City game with the same playbook from our previous matches, expecting City to be as impotent as Arsenal were in front of goal.

Watching City play before our match, would have been surprised if we got something positive out of that game.

Especially when you consider the kind of form their top striker is on. Definitely didn’t expect Varane or Martinez to handle that.

Exactly. We sluggishly gave away the ball when we had the chance to use it and couldn’t defend in numbers when we lost it.

On multiple occasions, City had a player unmarked right in our box 18. Our midfielders just didn’t know what was going on around them.
