another scam . Corona virus proofed other wise . Few death in Africa massive death in America

The good thing about the UK is the availability of good data.

African children are 'strong' but a child growing in Nigeria is over 20 times more likely to die before the age of 5 than his 'weak' counterpart in the UK cry
I see you glory in suffering.

Average backward mentality. Looking down on people's jobs. To them, that is 'enjoyment'

The lady in that pic is a care worker not a cleaner. Irrespective, I have much more respect for her than a thieving PMB or BAT who frolics abroad on the livelihood of millions back home.

The lady who cleaned an apartment I lived in some years back drove a 2017 suv, went on holidays to nice locations at least 2x a year, had her mortgage well paid into and her kids going through UNI at no expense to her. She bothered not about expenses for her health needs which are freely served by the national service (where she was free to put in formal complaints as she saw fit). She had her pension pot accurals and worried not about her aged parents who were being housed and cared for by the government.
That is what I call enjoyment- a nation where most have a good life and a good chance at success.

None, and that is because I am among the privileged few in Nigeria.
Basic health should not be associated with privilege. Thats a basic right.
I have seen children die because the parents couldn't muster 20 naira for transport. I don't want to get started on pregnant women. In the UK, EVERY unexpected death of a child/pregnant lady would trigger a full formal investigation involving the police, social care, healthcare, school e.t.c. I like that system.

The worst form of discrimination I've witnessed was as a Nigerian in Nigeria.

Again talking from a point of ignorant privilege. The reason why the woman in the video below was able to get the drug bill was because access to child healthcare had been made free in Kano but one still have to pay for meds.

250 naira antenatal fee kept over 300,000 women from attending antenatal care.

Her taking up a care job is not the reason to berate others doing similar jobs.

This are fakes statistic been reel out by donor agency's and their local collaborator to seek funding .a Tenacious begger can generate 2k in Nigeria a day .the sycophantic Cadillac driving Emir is diverting attention from the problems the institution he represent caused ! He expended 1 billion naira in purchasing cars 50m on phone calls 200m on private jet rental ! All from public funds .at the point of death 250 ! Will be provided by Nigerians even a local Chicken can be sold for 2000k which can be owned by the pooorest of the poor .yes there is poverty but in Nigeria but not as described by donor seeking person and agency . There are 120m active phone lines in Nigeria ,Nigerians spent 1 trillion Naira on data and calls and drank a trillion naira beer last year . That women claiming she doest have 250 naira has iron pots ,chicken goats , mattress that can be sold

we are not berating it all jobs are important to move the society forward .That why jobs role come with educational and work experience requirements ! So their intellectual work for the educated while some are physical for the semi educated or not .so it an abberation for a Master degree holder and senior bank official Bank examiner or Auditor that is supposed to be thinking of how to found a Audit firm like KPMG ( progression) to jump lane and decend to role kept for the uneducated ( retrogression)

Again, you fail to understand how some of countries were built. It was not on the back of shiny 'white collar' jobs but on hard working coal miners, rail workers e.t.c.
That is the reason why a plumber or truck (HGV) driver can earn more than some politicians. Something folks in Nigeria would struggle to understand.

If the lady in question feels her job is too 'demeaning', she should return.

I understand clearly like the use and exploitation of Africa Slave to build the empire .even in Nigeria a successful carpenter (roofing) earn more than a school teacher with a Bsc .a industry welder earns more a graduate Assistant then yazuha suya or ikoyi suya earn more than any professor in Nigeria University .plumbers and pipeline technician in oil and gas industry earn more than those suit and tie wearing banker !successful comedians earn more than doctor and truck drivers earn more than Majority of civil servant .

Cleaning is a minimum wage job.

If the cleaner indeed drove an SUV, it wasn't from the income of that job.

Stop misleading people.

Living in the UK has it pros and cons but in my own case the pros when compare to the cons is 80:20. I will share my story not because I want to encourage people to leave Nigeria but just to let people know the true state of things. Sometime I read some ridiculous things on Nairaland and I usually ask myself if I’m living in the same UK with these people. People have different reasons for migrating and we are all not in the same situation in Nigeria before. I was a business person in Nigeria but government policies coupled with the toxic business environment began to affect my business. I left Naija with my wife not just because my crumbling business but also because I was getting sick on a regular basis because my immune system can no longer fight Malaria effectively and the fact that there’s a 50% chance that a kid raised in Nigeria will end up doing Yahoo Yahoo not because you are a bad parent but due to the high level of unemployment and the environment which has been polluted with fraud and corruption and I want my kids to live a good life.

I moved to UK in January 2020 on a student visa, my wife as student, myself the dependant. She was going to school while I was working full time in as a support worker, she also worker as support worker when she’s not going to school like she does 20 hrs a week while I do mostly 50hrs a week. We earn combine total of £2500 monthly after tax. Then we were living in a one bedroom apartment (room and parlour flat) with total bill of £950 Monthly (rent = 650, council tax = £82, water = £24, internet = £24, Electricity averaging £80, phone bill £20 and monthly bus pass for 2 of us £70 (35£ each)). We always have more than £1500 for ourself after bills.

After her graduation we decided to move to North West of the UK where house rent are a lot cheaper because we now have a baby and we thought we would need a bigger home. So we got 3 bedroom detached house (duplex) for £650 per month our council tax increases to approximately £110 monthly because my wife is no longer a student, energy bill also increases several time in the last year but we currently paying £154 monthly. Water, phone bill , Internet and Bus pass remain the same as before which brings our current total bill to about £1100 monthly and both earn combine total of £3200 after tax for working combine total of 77.5hrs weekly.

As for the GP and NHS that somebody mentioned above, I have never had any issue getting medical help with my GP whenever I booked appointment with my GP I get attended to by a doctor same day. As for the queue with NHS (the big Hospital), if you have a life threatening issue, you will be attended to immediately. They only put you on queue if your case is not emergency and that’s because the NHS is currently struggling to recruit doctors and nurses so it’s not as bad as people make it look.

For me, moving to the UK is the best decision I have ever made because I believe I raise my kids in a good environment where they have a chance to follow their dreams, secondly my immune system has improved a lot because I’m finally free of mosquitos lol and lastly I have peace of mind which is very important in our life.

So if your wish to leave Nigeria for any country, just to Google and search answers for all your questions and see if it will be a good choice or not because trust me Nigerians will never tell you the truth that what I have learned. Good luck
Kudos

wait, a mumu lady closed down a #2m income venture to proceed on study visa??

Pls clear me a no too understand??

She's mad.

I will not call her a madwoman or stupid because you don't know her plans. I did the same thing some years ago when I left my job to relocate abroad. My coworkers and friends called my idea strange because they all believed I was doing better then. I never argued with them or challenged their negative comments because I knew back then that none of them was ready to take care of my bills. The reason(s) behind my relocation moves then was to be able to improve my life, and that of my kids and help friends/family members when I am in a position to do so.

You will not believe that those who condemned my actions then are the ones bothering me today for one form of help or another.

My advice to those young folks who are planning to relocate is that living abroad doesn't make you rich, but it will allow you to live well. You will be able to enjoy those things that only the rich enjoy in Nigeria. You will be able to help your parents who help you to become the person you are today.

Man needs to make a move. Life is all about risk. You lose some, you gain some.

Do you have such respect for an average mechanic, care worker in Nigeria? But since it's abroad now, all job are decent and everyone should be respected. I used to see this hypocrisy from y'all

Not everyone is guided by the worship of looting politicians.
My parents did well to teach me the ethos of dignity in legitimate labour. Reason why I don't see oppressing others as enjoyment.

Same story with most....

Reason why the chap talking about migrating bank MDs evokes laughter. He should ask himself why someone savvy enough to be a bank MD would leave all the enjoyment associated with his post for the uncertainty associated with migration. It's like an everyday folk goving Dangote financial advise.
