The issue is catch 22.

Head or Tail, there are consequences.

I cannot blame those going abroad for better pay.

In the same way, I don't expect the zimbabwe govt to fold their arms too watching the valuable assets largely trained and subsidized with public funds just moving in droves to UK.

My proposal is that, those medical personnel trained locally must work for 5 to 7years before they can relocate.

You somewhat sound right, but you fail to ask how other sane countries are able to build their various sectors for their trained citizens to stay. There are always migrations even in developed countries because one's needs are insatiable.

Lemme be frank with you, even if they increase their salaries here by times 10, they will only save enough to move. The reason being that aside their fat salaries, they would need security, easy movement and peace of mind. That's what these countries offer that is making people go there.

In Southern Africa, the Zimbabwean government has reportedly stopped issuing clearance letters to nurses in a bid to prevent them from leaving the country for greener pastures.

This follows #massresignations that have hit #Zimbabwe’s public hospitals as health professionals migrate abroad for better salaries and working conditions.

Earlier this year, the government doubled application fees for nurses' confirmation letters and certificates from US$ 300.
Official figures show that last year alone, Zimbabwe lost 1800 professionals, mainly to Britain.

Robert Chiduku, the Zimbabwe Professional Nurses Union President, joined us to unpack this latest development. #ZimbabweanNurses - News Central TV

That is what most African govt's are doing, they stop doctors and nurses from travelling to Britain, Saudi Arabia UAE etc for better pay, they stop you but refuse to do the needful or they agree to increase the pay but refuse to pay or delay payment for months.

I heard of a Dr in Nigeria that collects #120k monthly a lot of people to feed at home and many patients to attend to daily.

He later went to Saudi Arabia with a #1.2M monthly pay, 100% govt paid accommodation for him and his family, world class medical facilities in the hospital, attending to 7-8ppl per day and at most 13ppl per day, less stress with good working conditions, with a 35day paid leave to any part of the world.

But is it bad if the African governments pay this workers the value of the services the render? When you train someone and then purposely start starving the person won't there be arguments and scuffles?

By the way the same government trained politicians, ministers, governors and other and they are paid heavily so why should doctors, nurses and teachers go through hardship when they are ones all those paid heavily run to at the end of the day when they need help

They won’t pay their workers well. The government officials collect exorbitant salaries for doing basically nothing. Doctors in LUTH have not been paid for at least 10 months. No one talks about this.

Yet blocking people from migration to more economically favorable areas is the good thing to do.

Africans especially Nigerians are our own problem. The way we think is so twisted.

I don't really care what the government should do, as long as it makes sure that those nurses don't leave the country because the more they leave, the more we South Africans are affected by it, and the more African foreign nationals will be calling us xenophobic without bothering to hear our side of the story.

they are recruiting nurses and doctors from outside uk cause they need people who can follow any order, even the order to kill patient.
They need medical staff from countries they have kept Hungary and needy, As one European aristocrat said, there is a huge advantage to keeping are large population of poor desperate people for when you need people who can do anything you say.

What i have experienced of this African doctors in Europe is no different from what we get regards other Africans, they hate African patient .
When its your turn in the queue, he relaxes into the i can talk shit this one, and he treats the oyinbo patients like gods.
I never went back to the clinic after my encounter with fellow Nigerian doctor. If i had recorded the conversation on how alarmingly rude he was to me he would have been struck off.

If you are in Europe likely to have to use African doctor, know that they like to treat fellow Africans like shit, take your phone record the conversation.

Useless african people will never find peace or happiness until they stop hating themselves, until then all your fellow africans are probably your worst enemy. In the same clinic where oyinbo is treating me with disrespect, asian doctor treated me like a brother, fellow Nigerian doctor from same tribe as me Yoruba comes and treats me like animal . I disowned that tribe decades ago, fking crazy shallow people, with sell-out written all over the Yoruba soul.

I never went back there. And they only reason they are recruiting this wicked souls into European healthcare is cause they need wicked medical staff from desperate population, who will kill patients when asked to.

This huge recruitment of African medical staff is already cause major concern amongst the oyinbo population who know exactly why this wicked African medical staff are being recruited .

Nurses here in the USA earns close to 57 million naira yearly, and they work on shifts I don't know about the UK,..
Go and tell your president to stop paying medical personal peanuts and they should themselves stop traveling to the same USA and UK for treatment..
How many Nigerian doctors have health insurance,
How many are being paid hazards allowances, if it even exist in government hospitals..

Am sure your country pays well and your leaders visit this hospitals. Unlike Nigeria, where the leaders travel to the same UK that the doctors/nurses are migrating to for better working facility the same leaders can not provide.
