OBAGADAFFI: Presco kicked off twice a year last year and has sustained it with an increase this year. Not sure of when Okomu started. 2 Likes |

BabsO2: So Presco pays 2 interim dividends and 1 final dividend Every Year. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by BabsO2(m): 9:45pm On Oct 31, 2022 |
OBAGADAFFI: No. It's one final paid earlier in the year and an interim later in the year. Not three dividends per year. |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 11:31am On Nov 01, 2022 |
BullBearMkt: There are no taxes deducted by brokers. Brokers take commission on share sales or purchases. Commissions have lots of fees from various agencies incorporated into it. For capital gain, in the old tax law, you don't pay CGT on share sales. But this revised tax law, we are still waiting to see how it will go. I no wan pay anything jare. 4 Likes |

RabbiDoracle: According to Finance Act 2021, you can avoid it in one of three ways: 1. If the proceeds are re-invested in the acquisition of shares of the same company or any other Nigerian company within the same year of assessment shares of any Nigerian company. 2. Where the total proceeds from the disposal of shares are less than NGN100 million in any consecutive 12-month period. 3. Where the shares are transferred between an approved borrower and lender in a regulated securities lending transaction. 9 Likes |

Hogwarthtrades: From what I know, you need to make excess of N100m in capital gains to make taxes on NSE. Dividends are taxed before payment. Normal people like us need not worry about capital gains tax, maybe you're a heavyweight?! 3 Likes |

Hogwarthtrades:minus MTN the rest of the stock mention are usually dependent on foreign currencies to import raw materials and machinery |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by BullBearMkt(m): 11:14am On Nov 02, 2022 |
Redoil:...what? Do you expect companies that import their raw materials at higher cost to make more profits? Sorry, I don't get it |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 11:38am On Nov 02, 2022 |
BullBearMkt: These costs can be passed onto the consumers up till a point. Look at banks, higher cost of energy, higher cost of consumables, higher cost of running the business and they still roll out good profits. It is the consumers that usually suffer but up till a point where demand destruction (due to high prices) start to set in. At that point, the consumers stop buying or find alternatives. 3 Likes |

Redoil: MTN also imports its telecomunications equipment from foreign manufactures. I think it is companies that source raw materials from farms are protected. The breweries use starch from cassava to make alcohol..... 1 Like 1 Share |
