Both things are true.
1. The punishment is overkill, Kyrie is not that type of guy that hates people, talk less jews. Even in the movie, there was nothing antisemitic. This was a setup to take him out.
AND
2. Kyrie got himself here and he has a history of bailing, so no NBA player, including his teammates is sticking his neck out for him.

Now, if any player wants to talk on his behalf, its a free world. But a wise person will note Durant his teammate has avoided the issue. As has president of players union. As has elder statesmen like CP3, Lebron, Melo. Its not that they like the punishment. But the person being punished, he himself no get sense.
