I think if you have the required skills before leaving naija, you won’t come here to do menial job. My husband got a £47k job 10 days after we entered the UK. I also got a CS job with a bank even as a student. So it’s really worth it and we’re not even close to where we want be.We ditched our 400k job in Naija with no regret. You all should stop the narrative that everyone come here to do janitor or care plus people in those jobs here are treated better than people with white collar jobs in Naija.

On point!

the problem with you is that despite your abroad exposure and high speed internet, you are still ignorant. It is one blunder after the other. A roller coaster of sorts.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/africa.businessinsider.com/local/lifestyle/ghana-has-the-cheapest-internet-in-sub-saharan-africa-at-dollar061-for-1gb/pm57q37.amp

https://www.cable.co.uk/mobiles/worldwide-data-pricing/
This is the previously shared link. This is the 3rd time i'm sharing it. It shows the countries with cheapest data. Subsaharan Africa has 5 out of those countries. Nigeria is one of those 5 @ 0.71. UK is 0.79, Canada 5.94, USA wasn't specified in the article but a cursory search puts it at 5.62. Wetin remain!?

Excerpts from the cable link earlier referenced.
The average price of 1GB of mobile data in all four North American countries is in excess of the global average of USD 3.12, making it the most expensive region overall. Greenland is the cheapest country in the region with an average cost of USD 3.36 and the most expensive is Canada (USD 5.94).

Sub-Saharan Africa has just five countries among the top 50 cheapest in the world – Ghana, in 40th place overall, is cheapest in the region at USD 0.61. The region also has five out of the ten most expensive countries in the world, with Saint Helena the most expensive in the world (USD 41.06), joined by São Tomé and Príncipe (USD 29.49), Botswana (USD 15.55), Togo (USD 12.94) and Seychelles (USD 12.66) at the bottom of the table.

The report showed that Ghana has the cheapest mobile data price in all of Sub-Saharan Africa, as the cost of 1GB mobile data in the country costs $0.61. In second place is Somalia, where the cost of 1GB mobile data is $0.63. Nigeria ranks third on the list as 1GB mobile data in the country costs $ 0.71. In fourth place is Tanzania, where the cost of 1GB mobile data is $ 0.71. Sudan rounds up the top five (5) list with the price of 1GB mobile data is said to cost $0.75.

This is simply dumb. Simply claiming US internet costs are higher than that of Somalia is pointless. What is the quality of life that the cheap internet cost in Sudan gets you? Cost of education in Nigeria is a fraction of what it costs in the UK, Canada or the US… yet these threads are full of Nigerians begging for visas to come study here. This thread is essentially a parody of the ignorant preaching to themselves. What next… gasoline is cheaper in Nigeria?

This one no know say many homes are living off grid in USA...

Solar Trends in the United States
The United States installed nearly four GW of PV panel capacity in the first three months of 2022 alone. The country now has enough panels to energize 22 million homes.

The problem with you be say you no too get sense.. Na all these downtown immigrants doing 3 jobs

Americans are installing solar... Many are installing hybrid system. The world is going renewable.. Now will you know tech trends when you are in Amazon warehouse

Another empty barrel comparing apples to oranges. Americans who go off grid or install solar power do so AS A CONSCIOUS CHOICE, not like Nigerians who have to compensate for government incompetence. At least unlike Nigerians, Americans have a functioning electrical grid.

The world is going renewable… Nigerians aren’t. They are doing what they’ve always had to do, fumble around in a lawless zoo to survive.

When you do business here in Nigeria... You know that
1.you are adding value to the community
2.you are creating wealth
3.you have a legacy to pass onto your children....cis your kids will inherit business not jobs.

We will ensure that our brands grow in Nigeria cos we strongly believe that opportunities are here in Nigeria... Asians are making it here and we will make it

Funny how you all still fail to address the bigger issues - SYSTEM.
Build a successful business in Nigeria finish, you will still send your children to abroad to enjoy your money.
How many of Ovia, Elumelu, Dangote, jimoh Ibrahim and so on children have only Nigeria as citizenship.
All these if I have 20m , if I have 20 hectares should leave room for real, practicing entrepreneurs to talk.

And Yes people living abroad should simply stop converting dollar to naira, it's not a fair game.
That poster goofed big time, 500k is a big salary in Nigeria.
The problem with Nigeria is inflation. We spend too much on food and basic things.

Open your mind wide comrades. Indians, Pakistanis and Chinese Japa more than Nigerians but wherever they go they leave a footprint a SYSTEM.
A lot of Nigeria only travel to chase the Dollars
And unfortunately the ones home are just chasing the naira too.

IF YOU'RE SATISFIED WITH ONLY MAKING MONEY IN LIFE MY BROTHER LEAVE NIGERIA.
let me repeat that
IF YOU'RE SATISFIED WITH ONLY MAKING MONEY IN LIFE MY BROTHER LEAVE NIGERIA
But if you have a bigger goal ,eg if God called you have a ministry of course you can't leave the country.
But if our arguments is purely economic and monetary, forget it.

@bolded unfortunately you can’t chase money abroad because you can’t be a rich man abroad doing legal business or job. There system is designed in such a way that you spend as you earn. The reality is completely different from expectations abroad. Nigerians goes into illegal stuffs abroad when reality is done on them.
If you are running to abroad run because you want sanity living in a serene environment not for riches

You’ve hit the nail on the head. All this talk about inverters, cost of internet, smart energy… bla bla bla misses the mark by wide margins. I don’t live abroad because of internet or power supply… I do so because I prefer to live in a sane environment, where rules exist, not a lawless zoo. I choose to live in a predictable society, where schools work, and are mostly free, healthcare is readily available, the fire service functions, and government offices don’t take 50 years + bribes to produce a passport.

I choose to get a home on a predictable mortgage, knowing full well I own that home from the sweat of my brow, not through illegal government contracts. I choose to live in a society that allows me to freely travel anywhere I wish, where my passport is not a source of disgrace, and I am always within arms length of prompt service from the foreign consulate if I need them. I choose a society where public transport is a breeze and where we can go on road trips through the country without any fear of kidnapping, armed robbers or police checkpoints.

Far more than money, I value peace of mind… and Nigeria isn’t it.

How is Nigeria nearing it's ruin to be honest? Gun violence and kidnapping happen in USA everyday. But you won't talk about that due to White worshipping..but you people wish bad things happen to Nigeria and her people everyday so you'll be able to justify your Japa and tell them "we warned you". Why can't you people Just accept the fact that not everyone want to come And live a lonely and boring life abroad Just because of 24hrs light which you pay for with your nose anyways , and McDonald Job of $1500 per month. The money you earn over there doesn't even find you that boost until you convert it to naira in your head just to validate yourself and say ",I'm earning more than a professor in Nigeria". This is a trend I see Among you people.

And you can call me broke because I live in Nigeria. Since you can't even know whether I'm more satisfied and contented with my life or not

Thanks
