Because you applied from outside the UK you have a visa catergory under leave to enter as a student.


If you were applying for another visa within the UK, it will most likely reflect a Leave to Remain* category

Bear in mind that there is also Indefinite leave to remain and Indefinite leave to enter but that's story for another day

It's best to wait for the ECO decision.

From experience, your visa can be approved while for your kids, you get NSF why the other spouse isn't applying. I'm sure you know there will be concerns on how you will studying and taking care of the kids same time.

To add to what @Promoter2 has said please read the Immigration student rules ST 34.2 (see screenshot) for the conditions for a child dependant.

If you decide to proceed please prepare for an NSF from the ECO either requesting for details of the second parent or documents to fulfill those conditions


Some people have been lucky to provide documents for that and have gotten the child dependant visa others have had their application refused

If you aren't prepared for that hassle please withdraw their application so you can get the visa fee and IHS refunded and go for yours.

They should then apply when your spouse's passport is ready

Type 'gov.uk' on Google, click on the UK URL (website). After the website opens, look for 'visa and immigration', click on it. Then, if it opens, look for 'study in the UK' and click on it too so as to read everything about student's visa, immigration student rules, post study visa, etc.

NB: carefully and repeatedly read everything under 'study in the UK' to equip yourself with adequate and necessary information as you journey to the UK.

1. I guess I should choose the 3rd option (I am the parent of applicant under 18)

2. When I choose this it takes me to the next page (screenshot added) asking in what capacity are you representing applicant, the only option that looks okay is "family member" but when I choose this, it asks how are my related to main applicant(which is me)

Am I doing something wrong here

It is the same account. I only topped money on the account and want to allow it for 28 days before my husband can submit his own application.

The answers to your question is No, it won’t affect your Dependants application.

If none of your dependants are traveling with you, the answer is NO.

Please if a married person wants to travel without the partner who will join up later. In the visa application, after filling out the partner details, is it necessary to upload marriage pictures and certificate?

The GBP has increased in value on OANDA by at least 37NGN since POF was started and in the course of the month, the some transaction occurred and going by the current rate it would have dipped by about 70k but this was just for two days before it was restored back above the current rate. There's an advice just few comments above. If you haven't gotten your CAS, go and pay some tuition via black market. This will reduce your required POF amount.

Even if you've gotten CAS, since you haven't applied for visa, you can ask the school to update the tuition paid on the CAS.
