You can use as many brokers as you wish.
However, a good and recommended practice is to use a single CHN for all, it's better for you and the regulators if you have the same CHN for easy monitoring and management of your holdings.

All stockbroking firms have the same securities on their platform because they are all linked to a single and same platform (NGX) you may need to check on the navigation on a particular broker's platform.
What are the procedures in requesting for a single CHN? Sir, can't one use a single CSCS number for different brokers?

If you already have a CHN from a broker and you wish to have the same CHN with another broker, indicate your CHN number while completing the account opening form for any of the new brokers you are engaging.

You cannot have the same cscs number with more than one broker. What is obtainable is, the same CHN but a different cscs number. Just like having different bank account numbers in different banks but the same BVN
CHN is similar to BVN in the stock market.

Hello folks, any recommendation on a stock to put 10 million? I want to leave it for 10 years with the hope of it growing YOY and with good dividends. I will appreciate any suggestion.
Buy only one or two stocks max.
Buy ZENITH and GTCO in 60/40 fund split or 50/50 split.

** These two will return over +130% in Dividends to you in 10yrs....…."all things being equal"
** ZENITH and GTCO presently have the highest dividend yields in NSE
** Entering at bargain price is also advantageous.
** Price appreciation a bonus
** If you want us to do some Maths, oh sorry, some Arithmetics, signify..... smiley

This is my own suggestion and recommendation. tongue
* Final decision is yours to take*

Yeah, looks like it, but then d extra shares are going to dilute EPS, it is up to d market what it will do with dat piece of info.

Based on my math assuming constant EPS:

Original EPS = EPS
After EPS = EPS/1.25

Change = [(EPS/1.25) - EPS]/EPS = -0.2

EPS drops by 20%
Thanks

This is the best option, since most brokers will automatically give you new CHN and CSCS numbers when you open a new account.

Can one use more than one broker at the time? I observed that some of these brokers don't have some securities listed in their platforms so would like to know if it is possible

Pls be careful how you handle your money. Putting money in the NSE and holding the mentality that you are investing is a big mistake. I am not saying you cannot get ROI make money on your 10m I am simply saying you should not, must not approach NSE thinking you are investing.

If you want to put your money in something and go away for ten years, maybe you can look to NASDAQ and buy shares of a viable technology company this is far better than the NSE. However, this too IS NOT AN INVESTMENT!

He has a point though, same NB that sold at over 150 in 2013, 2014, 2015 and briefly in 2017 is now selling bellow 50. A novice should never go into d market without extensive analysis. I was lucky (maybe not) to enter d market just after COVID bears.

In my opinion, a first timer should acquire d closing prices for a stock he is interested in buying dating back to 10 years minimum and never buy if price is close to historical peak in addition to coming here for enquiry.

You also have a point.
One of the reasons I mentioned ZENITH and/or GTCO too.
These ones may not be aggressive in growth but consistency in payment of Dividend is it for me, especially for the long term duration mentioned. They've been increasing the dividend payout overtime too......cos I did some checks on both not too long ago.

I recently assisted a close relative in downloading, filling and submitting Union Bank form for Mandatory Take-over and I could easily relate to the example you sited.
The UBN shares were purchased at around N29/per share or thereabout.....
Has been there for more than 20yrs, bought at different prices (with one IPO in 1995 or so.......
* How many times did UBN pay Dividends within those years? Doubt if it's up to 5 times......
* Worst part, the buyer offered to buy the share over @ paltry N7 in 2022!!

So investing in some stocks for long term needs serious due dilligence and experts advice before you dabble into it.
Long term is different from short term or Jijo-ing.

One good thing now though, is the digital era, whereby one can easily monitor and track his investments, compared to the old analogue period whereby all activities reside solely with the broker and brokerage firms. No more trading in "darkness", except for those who chose to......or are ignorant.

I pencilled some stocks for long term investment a couple of months ago and gtco and zenith are not among. This is because both stocks have been Ranging and not really performing for over 5 years now, when the highest either of them has ever gone is #35 or thereabout.
I don't see why someone should base his investment merely on dividend payment in a very inflationary economic collectivity like ours.
I would rather diversify on about 20 stocks of good fundamentals so that the ones who choose to grow among them would make for the static or falling ones; call it a very conservative or ancient strategy if you like. Gt and Zenith has been on range for few years back. Above is strictly my personal opinion please.

Sorry to say this, Otomatic. These dividends we are getting, is it not rubbish? You invest million in a company and get # undecided in a whole year! Even after the company has made 70% profit!
My brother, if one really wants to invest, surely not nse and the likes. I think nse is for arm-chair, white collar investors. I am an example of such anyway, because i don't have less than #* in nse. I restrain myself from putting figures to prevent being misunderstood.
