If bank robbery is the indices for measuring security in a state, am.sure some states can boast of same.

Any person who wants rob a bank in lagos will think twice when he thinks of the traffic which will prevent an easy get away.

A few years ago, there was a bloody bank robbery in lekki. The robbers had to use speed boats as their getaway.

In all honesty, I don't think sanwo olu should take credit for that

If you rob a bank, you need to get away. In a city with traffic congestion like Lagos, it is a nightmare for ban robbers.

Lagos gets lower incidents because of the number of people in each community and the way the communities have evolved, ikorodu has more bush/escape routes so it has more incidents than lagos island when it comes to robbery and kidnaps, lagos main roads are overcrowded which means nowhere in Nigeria has more traffic robery than lagos, mile 2/apapa residents can testify. For robery to occur in congested locations, bikes have to be used, bikes have been banned, bike robberies reduced... BUT at what price, transportation has become so hectic for the average lagosian and small/medium scale business that a lot of business are just trying to keep afloat, when customers find it stressful to reach you, they either look for the product /service elsewhere or stay in their house and forget it especially if its a recreational service not a necessity. Now how responsible is a government that would let its grassroots dry up... Eager to claim lower crime rate while creating more criminals through unemployment, more exposure to criminality through bad transport network(if you live in parts of lagos where you have to trek long roads at night in the absence of bike you would understand), a govt that has done nothing for his people but been a figurehead.

there will be no bank robberies because all these robbers have advanced and turned to kidnap people instead, it is easier for them, less stressful, and more profitable than carrying out robberies

Robberies do go on a lot in lagos, but bank robbery is low, cause to have a successful bank robbery one has to anticipate his escape which is difficult as a result of traffic ,the robber has two options of escape either he follows the water ways or on bikes, if the robber chooses the first option he is likely to get caught cause of limited water ways once he hits the water his escape route is anticipated by security personnel if his other option is the latter with bikes since the loot is a lot of money not jewelry it's bulky for a high speed escape and automatic rifles are also difficult to conceal on bikes,it's a matter of difficult options to go by not by the effectiveness of our security measures

Don't be too gullible, the reason you don't experience bank robbery in Lagos is not because of your security but because the robbers can't escape due to traffic. Majority of the banks in Lagos are in the mkts and crowded environments where movement will be so difficult for the robbers.
