A popular comedian, Julius Agwu, has confirmed that his marriage to Ibiere (nee Maclayton) has ended. He claimed his wife stated that she was tired of being married to him.

Earlier in the year, there had been reports that their marriage had hit the rocks. Sunday Scoop reached out to the comedian then, but he declined to make any comments.

However, in a recent interview with a media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, aka Freeze, Agwu said, “My wife said she was not marrying me again. She said she was tired of the marriage. That’s why I thank God that I’m alive. I have a saying that ‘Satan works in mysterious ways, and God works in miraculous ways’.”

Asked about his children, the comedian said, “My kids are in the United States of America. They are fine.”

Reliving his experience when battling with brain tumours, he said, “There were no rumours about my health. It’s true. I wanted to cool down for a while. I had a surgery in 2015 to remove some tumours from my brain. I came back to Nigeria and did a thanksgiving service. After that, I travelled to London, United Kingdom, in 2016 for a show. But, just two days to my show in London, I was rushed to the hospital. I was in coma for three months; and I can only thank God that I am alive.”

However, in the comments that trailed the interview, some social media users asked the comedian what he did to his ex-wife that made her no longer interested in the union that lasted about 14 years.

This was even as some commended him for having the courage to speak about it.

When some men are strong and have some little money they treat their wives just like a pieces of garbage but when they are sick or have nothing, they fall back to the garbage they discard, anyway Learn your lesson and know the importance of the nuclear family, no one will take care of you more than your nuclear family, know this and know peace



Though a marriage is a lifetime contract in no matter the kind of situation & condition that may come or rise up, anyway I pray to God to help this man recover fully soonest

Either ways, people must realize that marriage is not an event, it is a lifetime contract. Some people think marriage is all about rosy times and building a family, whereas you signed up for everything- for better, for worse.

That writing on her shirt. “It’s not me it’s you”, I mean I don’t know who to blame now. But make sure as a man you marry someone who loves you more than you love her and is always genuinely happy being and spending time with you.

The lady really stood by him throughout the time he had health challenges. But she should have endured.

Please before you abuse the lady,do some findings.

Julius is a serial fornicator and even all the time he was sick,he was cheating on his wife with different girls.....I can't count the number of times I've seen Julius at popular hotels & hangouts on the island frolicking with prostitutes.

Why won't she leave you? Look at the way he painted it as if the wife just left her without him doing anything wrong.

Basic issue is that when you are in showbusiness, and you are in high demand, things like time for family suffer a great deal.

I don't know the cause of the breakup of Mr Agwu's marriage, but I won't be surprised if the above was the reason. Women , unlike we men, crave intimacy and closeness, and communication. (Men do, but we can go for long without it, and sometimes forget that women cannot switch off the desire like we can).

You didn't tell the world how you cheated on her, she was with you at your lowest point in your life but immediately you felt better, you started from where u stopped. Ungrateful man..

Simple!!! Marriage is not compulsory or a do or die affair. Her decision is best known to her.

No matter what happens in marriages, the truth is that it was instituted by God. There are homes with sweeteners and sweetnesses. God never changes His reasons of marriage in Eden. Most times, we're not careful of marriage exhibitions on social media. When marriages are conducted with view to display public affection, it will crumble soonest.
