Compliment of the season to all,

I did my upfront medical on Dec 15, 2022 while I submitted my study permit application on Dec 29, 2022. I got an advice to go for biometrics that same Dec 29, 2022 which I have done today 5/1/23. My concern is that the upfront medical I did is yet to be updated on the portal till now, is there anything I need to do? I just want to be sure I am still on the right track. Your advice will go a long way to assist. Thanks
I did my Medicals on the 1st of December 2022
Mine is yet to be updated too
Just be patient

What is the advantage of upfront medicals? I submitted my application on the 12th of December.....do I need to do upfront medical or I wait for their reply? Pls I need advice...tnx
Most people choose to do upfront medicals because of available slots
You can choose to do yours now if there are slots available on their website

Do not go there until you see Lagos also when you still Lagos chat them online to confirm it's ready before going don't waste your time . Some people were sent back on Wednesday when they came to pickup and told the office they got mail not for them to be told that the passport is not ready after waiting for 2 hours

Hello everyone,

I'll try to make this post short. I'm currently a student in the University of Alberta. I've been here in Canada for almost two years and I'm still relatively young. It's getting harder for my parents to comfortably afford the university fees and my younger sister is in her final year of secondary school and about to join me in university.

I understand that the economy in Nigeria is getting worse everyday and the exchange rate does not make it easier for my parents to support me, my younger siblings and the whole family. My dad lost his job in an oil company and my parents are trying to relocate, or at least work in Canada to make things easier.

I've tried to find to find job opportunities for them in Canada but I don't fully understand the job market here and it seems like they need to get a work permit first. It's important to note that they both have degrees in marketing but my dad has worked in logistics and my mom is currently a lecturer.

Can I please have suggestions on what to do next? Thank you for reading.

It's a wire transfer you can initiate to your account abroad via form A at bank rate just like payment of school fees and PTA.
Banks now process the payment once a yr due to FX issues while school fees can be processed per semester.
The process now takes about 60 days just like school fees payment.

I hope this clarifies it.
Yes it clarifies everything, thank you.

I am actually not going to centennial but my college is around Scarborough too lawrence avenue east they are all in same axis even university of Toronto is also in same axis though maybe 35minutes distances by bus . It’s more expensive to get accommodation closer to college like 1km to 2km so for now I am left with no choice than to book any distance between 5km to 8km for atleast a month till I settle .

My school gave me an easy url it’s much easier to search for accommodation around Toronto I won’t type it here to avoid anti spam bot ban . Check hormadoma on the image just type your school it will bring out all accommodation closer to your school you can then start reaching out to the owners most of them want female. It’s difficult to get one that need a male maybe guys don spoil things for the landlords

Advice As everyone can see on the image canada is not cheap especially the big cities if you don’t have funds or have someone in canada to support you don’t bother to apply. This is why they deny visa these vo mean it when they said financial asset . Accommodation for single bedroom can cost more than 5million a month . Get yourself prepared first before commencing your journey

the baby would have been born before they reply your visit visa application. It’s currently 7 to 12months processing . Only parents visit visa / spouse in Canada they are processing faster these days. Dont waste your time and money

Thanks a lot for your response ednut1.

Just a follow up question pls, will it matter if it is on medical basis?

It’s the same Gckey the principal applicant used for the study visa application, the spouse would equally use. My spouse would be applying for SOWP once I have travelled. You can dm to be added on the SOWP group on telegram for more guidance.

there is no priority visa processing for Canada so they can’t single out your application. Anyone considering giving birth in Canada should have the visa before conception. You can try your luck sha and hope for the best.

Hormadorma is quite expensive and most of them don't like kids...i am looking at 10 to 15km from school too cos the rooms are quite expensive.

Can you explain at the bolded please?

For the little time I've been here, from account opening to bus rides to asking for directions and even saying hi, the few blacks I've come in contact with gave off cold vibes/reception.
I was lost one time trying to get to the bank, I saw a black middle-aged lady walking towards me, I said hi with the intention to ask for directions but she looked and walked past me as you go do for mile 2/orile (trying to be cautious), I was beyond embarrassed.
In school during orientation, this one guy with his accent was obviously Nigerian, I approached him to get directions on the floor to go register for my SIN and his response was as though I was about to stress him out meanwhile he responded to the Indians and other students well.
The exact opposite has been my experience with the white locals here.
The Airbnb host here personally drove me to the store twice to get a few items and offered to drive me again if I needed something else (for Naija its somehow for your host to be driving you around so I declined further rides)

Again I have only been here a few days so I can't say all the blacks are hostile and I've certainly not encountered all the whites around. Pardon my generalization.
