So basically he has found an unimpeachable way to absolve himself of the blame that falls squarely on his shoulder. Please make him understand that the first step to digging yourselves out of this hole is to accept his share of the blame and start working out actual ways to solve it. His mistake in the first place was assuming it was entirely up to prayers to succeed. I would understand (maybe not accept though) if his reason is that you don’t work hard enough, not saying that is true though. Just focus on your hustle bro so you can help your family

Firstly, success and failures do not depend on going to church or praying but I don't blame your dad, it's the result of brainwashing over the years by religious folks and he is now too old to be emancipated from such beliefs.

Now to you. Stop living in a fantasy world of football and get your ass to work. If there is no money to train you in school, learn skills and more skills because formal education will have little or no help in no distant time.

While you learn the skills, still keep an eye out for football opportunities if that's your passion.

Firstly bro never at any point deviate from God, cos every other thing is vanity. Secondly be contented and not Covetous. Associate ursef with people a bit older than you (That are legitimate and responsible in all ramifications)with loyalty and respect but not stupid. Take advantage of ur young age to run errands for them but during that process learn critically well and build ur contacts smartly. Contacts goes a very long way in life. Never u see you parents as failures. They’re ur god on earth and God created us all in his own image. Don’t indirectly refer to God as a failure. Look ahead bro look ahead discreetly then the picture will be clearer cos there’s no present like the future

You must be very wise, may God bless you more

Your father is very irresponsible and he has transferred his irresponsibility to you, this is why fathers should be intelligent and should know how to raise their kids with skills for Life. A good father learns from his life and helps his children do better, he stands with them and guides them, so they discover their strength and know how to manage their weaknesses.

Apologies for the statement though, because you are already fragile since you are already considering of doing some diabolical acts.

Don't become a worst version of your father, learn from people who do better. You may become the worst version of your father, not intelligent, very superstitious and suspicious, never learning.

My father woke up this morning to start censuring me and my bro.

I ran out of the house yesterday to watch Chelsea match against Man City just to reduce depression. I woke up this morning and my father attacked me saying that we his children are not prayerful enough that is why we are still suffering.

He does not know when we pray or the intensity of our prayer but he made that statement.

He also asked me what I want to do with my life if it's to rewrite jamb or play football. I was very enthusiastic to play football but he couldn't even sponsor it. I used to be very intelligent but now I am an ignoramus in everything due to my poor education background.

Some guys I know that don't even go to church are progressing as their parents are catering for them but my situation is different.

The pressure is becoming too much and I am thinking of carrying out any diabolic act to raise funds. I haven't been into fraud or stealing but now I am anticipating to do it. Is it not better not be born than to come to this world to suffer

Your father Is a classic Nigerian parent looking for someone else to blame other than himself.

At least he didn't call you a witch.

Rituals do not work. If you do rituals it means you are going to work with demons, you will become an instrument of destruction. and at the end you will burn, the process of death.

Flee from rituals, you are breaking the commandment of love. Instead of doing ritual, why don't you go and help a cook, a builder, carpenter, electrician, mechanic doing his Jobs, or go and clean the street, or go and help people who are working, surrender yourself to service and to the good calling you were created for.

Look around you and help everyone for one month and discover what you have learnt from doing that. It could be some labor, or some encouragement to others, ask around how can i help, and is there anything you want to learn from others, ask how you can help.

But it seems you are already brought up with typical wicked self centered Nigerian mentality.

You're more brilliant than you give yourself credit for.

And if you aren't up to 40 — and you want to be educated— why not go back to school.

Bad things don't pay, work hard and pray, forget women in your life, women is highest destiny killer if you are not married, hope only in God, I was like you before, nobody believe I will ever become successful in life, even my father don't take me serious, but by God grace I have achieved a lot now, house, lands, car, family of 6 at very young age, I don't what to say my age here, if God help us travel out of this country sooner I will be thankful to him.

Someone said up there that you're just like your father and he's absolutely correct...

There are many people out there who struggled to change the family story without any support of any kind from their parent...But you're there waiting for your father to give you assistance before you can brighten your future.

Go and struggle or learn a skill.... Work on improving yourself and you will flourish.....

Your father pushing you is to have you sit up and not to make you feel depressed and breed rituals mentality..m

This is a mentality that should not be encouraged or preached on Social media.
The fact that we have some people out there who struggled to be successful and lift their families out of poverty does not mean that's what should be copied, you owe that child(ren) education and care at least until he or she becomes an adult, then you can asked to be taken care of or the child take care of himself.
We Africans needs to stop that evil habit of giving birth to children we can't cater for and expect them to lift the family out of poverty when you don't intend playing your part of training that child.

Re: My Father Is Blaming Me For Our Suffering by PristineSteve(m): 4:25pm On Jan 06, 2023
Your Father has failed and is not taking responsibility for his failure. Rather trying to push the blame on you guys.

If you continue in that house, you won't be able to put your mind together to achieve anything better that he has done. He will only keep pilling pressure on you.
If possible, get a job no matter how little the pay is, gather small funds & get a room apartment, leave that house & make something good out of yourself.
Learn skills.

Most important, I'll leave you with Proverbs 3/5-6. I pray things turn out well for you.
God bless you.

You want his dad to just curse him and disrupt his future totally.
Davizee, move out of your father's home and start living like a man.
If you stay with him, you ll disrespect him due to his numerous confrontations.
Also, remember him in your prayers.
Nigeria is hard for everybody both male and female.
The upbringing my parents could gave me is what I m enjoying today. And presently, some of my friends are married or became surgeon, hair hostess etc. I v a close friend who's working with world bank presently cos her dad had connections. I m grateful to my parent but if I m now comparing, I ll be sinning cos some families can't give what my parent gave to me.
Your dad is taking his frustrations on you unfairly. Realistically in this present age, the betterment of a child's life in this present age rest of trainings given by parents.
Move out of the father's house to where exactly? To go live on the streets or under bridge?

That's remarkable, but many men dont explore several skills to see their strength, that was why i also suggest he offers to help and learn in various places. Sometimes if one domain does not work out another domain may work out and what have anyone got to lose from attempting but failing, it only makes us wiser and sharper.

Your struggles has only made you sharper. Something to be grateful for, you are therefore not easily confused or overwhelmed and you are able to see the next step since you are sharper because of struggles.
