Not true. You can only capture at the NIS office where you began the process.

DIY is 25,500

Hello. Please, is DIY advisable? Or, should I go to their office?
Which route is faster? And are they same cost?

Neither is faster than the other, if you consider the system in Festac.
DIY is stressful though
Cheaper but very stressful.

Hello everyone, I captured in October and I plan to go for my passport coming week, I just want to know if there’s any thing I need to know ?
And apart from the slip given to me on the day of capturing what else would I need to go along with ? And do I need to go too early?
Sorry for so much questions, I did it via the DIY so I just want to be sure.

In Festac, punctualitg doesn't matter. I learned that bitter lesson yesterday.

As for passport collection, all you need is that slip.

Let me drop my own gist of how I captured finally
Date of capturing 4 jan 2023
Sagamu

I went there at 8:25 am
I knew I was in for wahala because I forgot my local government's certificate
But trust me I have a very strong mind
First first those guys at servicom would ask you to go and buy file
That file is been sold outside for 500 naira
Just a single file oo
Next she. You put all your documents inside
My brothers and sisters that we're the war starts for DIY
You would be asked to pay a compulsory 6k
Me I have stubborn head ooo
I refused politely
I knew if we drag it for like 3-4hours
My file would go inside
I showed them fake alert of 10k
Baba thought he has seen mumu
I told him I would give him 2k cash
He still collected that one and was waiting for the bigger alert (thiefs)
He started taking my file from one place to another
Hahaha I was laughing
Oga said I will add something
I said no problem
To get him scared anytime he wants to talk
I normally bring out my phone
He feels I want to record him or something
He would keep quiet and do his job

I finally captured before 1pm self same line with everybody

Dont be scared those immigration officers are not God

The gospel truth is TEAM DIY is cheap and make sure u have all your documents correct
Don't give shishi

Money spent total
26k + 1 k(court stamp) + 2 k( compulsory payment of 6k at sagamu but I negotiated down to 2k)

Nigerians are the cause of all this extortion

You would be told to pay money
And you wouldn't even ask questions
tufiakwaaa

I will bring gist for collection soon

Passport Collected
DIY

Ikoyi Passport Office, Lagos

Capture date: 17th August, 2022
Issue date: 19th October, 2022
Collected on: 3rd January, 2023

But seriously, something needs to be done about the racketeering by some officers at that Ikoyi passport office.

I wish I knew my passport 1 was out since October, I'd have gone there to collect it much earlier. It still shows PENDING PRODUCTION on their website tracker till now.

Collection was fast and smooth, within one hour I was out of there. But small drama as expected. Make sure to go early, so you can leave early.

Got to the passport office at 7am. Met a crowd of people there, with a long list for names. At 8:00, the PRO and some other officers came to address us. Three queues are to be formed in a straight line (you just have to be fast and sharp). I already knew the collection queue was to be in the middle, having been there previously for capturing.

One line for capturing, another for collection and the last for complaints/enquiries/NIN issues.

8:08, we were let in to the waiting room. Immediately, we were given collection slip to fill in our names , phone number and enrollment number, then submit to the collection officer. Make sure you go with your own pen to avoid delay.

Soon after, the announcement came. Not sure why only 5 of us were called first, probably because we didn't go through any agent. But we all later collected our passports. The officer said NO RECORD FOUND was our case and boldly wrote NRF on the collection slip with red pen. I wanted to go berserk!!! How dare you say no record found when I can see my application status on your website?! Apparently, his strategy was to delay us and extort from us.

Immediately, I collected the slip from him and went straight to the PRO's office to report the matter. She directed me to SERVICOM to help me confirm if my passport was ready. Lo and behold, when I got there, the officer checked and told me there's nothing wrong with my application and my passport was ready for collection.

I didn't know if to cry or laugh, I went back to the collection room to meet the officer who told me no record found and I couldn't see him again. He was nowhere to be found. I needed to get his badge name and report it to the PRO and HQ for possible disciplinary action because she asked whom the officer was and I couldn't provide a name. She wasn't very happy that I couldn't provide a name. I believe they're trying to weed out corruption because she was intentional on ensuring I collected my passport.

Finally submitted the slip to another officer who helped me to find my passport where the corrupt officer hid it. She told me the truth that the officer wanted to extort from me. Had to tip her 1k for being so honest. Initially she rejected but I insisted. That was the only money I gave out in that office.

She brought out my passport and handed it over to me, then asked me to go to the activation room to activate my passport. Went in there, the queue moved very quickly. Within 10 mins, I activated my passport and I was out of that place joyous.

Total paid: 26k, including charges.

Meanwhile, someone was gisting me how he paid 90k for so-called express and it still took 3 months for his passport to be ready. I'd say try DIY if you have time and patience.

I am in Gwagwalada immigration office now to collect the passport I captured for on the 20th of September. But what I am seeing here is beyond me, the officer they referred me to in S. A. to PCO office is showing me my file, that they pulled it out from production because I did not pay for settlement they called it compliance fee, that they are not going to do it
report them on Immigration Twitter handle

The process was very fast as I got my passport within 1hr and no officer harrass me for money. They only ask you to bless their box when confirming the receipt of your passport. You can drop anything you have like N100 or N200.
