It happened to me recently though I didn't sleep off.
I didn't know the bus stop and I told the driver immediately I boarded the bus. I kept reminding him at intervals only for the man to suddenly stop and started apologizing that we have passed the place.
I was so angry that all his apologies fell on deaf ears.
