If Nzeogwu's coup led us to civil war, why didnt Murtalas coup, Dimkas coup, Buharis coup, orkahs coup, Babangidas coup and Abachas coup all lead us to civil war,

Don't make me laugh.

Go and ask those who experienced the war whether they will like to experience it again.

Those who didn't know about war where shouting "Ojukwu, give us guns".

After a few months, when the horror of war dawned on them, men began to hide in roofs to avoid conscription.

Since Ibos have paid with their blood, it is good to move on and forget the past.

Yes, a revolution that culminated in the mass slaughter of millions of Igbos in a needless war.

Akuko. Why do you Igbos love self-deceit for goodness sake If Nzeogwu coup had not happened, there would have been no counter coup which was in response to the Nzeogwu coup and targeted majorly at Igbo officers, Aguiyi Ironsi, and Igbo civilians all across Nigeria by officers of Northern extraction. Only a disingenuous person would say what you just said coz it's obvious to the blind that the counter coup was the major precursor to the Civil war due to its macabre slaughter of Igbos in Northern Nigeria as a direct reprisal against the sectional killing of Northern leaders by Nzeogwu and his boys. There would've been nothing like Aburi accord without those preceding events. Endeavor to tell yourself the truth once in a while.
Buka Suka Dimka and some predominantly old Plateau state indigenes carried out the 1976 coup.
Why did his civilian kinsmen not pay the price with him,why were they not attacked?
Why did Pla

The man is the main reason why Nigeria is where it is today.
You killed all the Northern and Yoruba leaders in your coup and left the Igbos after an agrrement to execute all the corrupt leaders.
They do finish after all the complaints Igbo man still end up be military president..The Yorubas just chill and didnt tk action for peace to reign
The Hausas on the other hand qrefused and started killin the Igbos in the North.

Hausa's were killing us even the coup. He did what was right.

Late Major Patrick Chukwuma 'Kaduna' Nzeogwu was a devout catholic, a teetotaller, a detribalized Nigerian, a brave and gallant soldier who in a bid to save Nigeria from the hands of some corrupt individuals pulled the trigger that exacerbated Nigeria's problem.

Okpanam is an Igbo town on the outskirts of Asaba, the capital of Delta State. Years ago, the indigenes erected a statue in memory of Chukwuma Nzeogwu, their famous son who led Nigeria's first coup

People of Okpanam still believe that Nzeogwu led more than a coup, they believe he led a revolution

Forget all that. Funsho Williams was a serious pain in the a$$ to a Lagos lord and needed to go for him to claim Lagos as a property. Remember same funsho Williams first contested against "him" in the 1998 primary election on the platform of AD and defeated "him" but was denied the ticket by party leaders just to give the Lagos landlord the opportunity to run a second term and in 2007 funsho was back to reclaim his mandate and it's was glaringly obvious funsho Williams was going to win with a landslide victory but unfortunately His life was cut short just few months to the election

If not for the personality war between Awolowo and Akintola and the support of Prime Minister Belewa to the latter; If not for the Western region crisis that heated up the system, Chukwuma Nzeogwu and his band of coupist would not have upened the political system.

Aguiyi Ironsi also didn't take step to pacify the Northern region. If only he had put all the coupist to trial with capital punishment meted out to them, Theophilus Danjuma and his boys would not have killed him. And the civil war would have been averted. But Aguiyi was only fixated in consolidating power by coming up with his draconian decree that plunged Nigeria into our present unitary system.

Another conjectural crap on circulation. Aguiyi Ironsi did not have the power to try anybody with capital punishment. Aguiyi followed the rules stipulated by Nigerian criminal code as well as Military code of conduct.

They Igbo officers can't kill Northern people and expect those ones to fold their hands. No one race has a monopoly of violence

But northerners can kill ordinary civillians and you expect igbo people to just overlook it?

Don't misquote me sir, I m not a Tinubu supporter.
But I know the history you are twisting.
Firstly, if not for national reconciliation, Nzeogwu shouldn't be celebrated. In fact, he should v been killed ingloriously before he orchestrated his death in the Biafra war.
2ndly, Ladoke Akintola that he killed was a respected citizen. The Igbos had grouses with the northerners prior to the Biafran war. It's wasn't Yorubas that were killing Igbos in the north. So why the transfer of aggression on Yoruba leaders at that time? They wanted Balewa and Ahmadu Bello. The officers that killed Akintola could v shot him in the leg or arm if he was too stubborn for them.
3rdly, he said they were cleaning the govt and spared Nnamdi Azikiwe. That's padipadi arrangement of brothers from same tribe. He was freed by Aguiyi Ironsi, that's a traitor move and at the end, he joined forces with Biafra. The whole activities later led to an avoidable war that eventually made the Igbos pay bitterly for.
I m not here to justify that Igbos deserve whatever they get but we must show that while we are still together in Nigeria, our agitations, arguments should be logical.
I m sure some ll still misquote me and get e-knock on their head!
Is Nzogwu Igbo?

Well you better read about the Aburi agreement because the military Governors of all 4 Regions signed the agreement on behalf of their respective Regions

Parliament did not agree to Gowon abolishing the 4 Regions and creating states, but Gowon did anyway. Today we have 36 states, all created by Nigerian military rulers
May your lies eat up your mouth dia. Where is the copy of the agreement with the signatories?. Why are you spreading unprovable narratives that was only cooked up in your igbotic head. At least, you should know that it was Philip Asiodu, an ibo man that played a key role in dissuading Gowon from signing the Accord.

This same people still believed that they are not Igbos and yet the northerners saw him as an Igbo which led to the killing of innocent Igbos that knows nothing about the coup led by someone that was never believe that he is an Igbo man just because we bear similar name with them they accused Igbos.

Actually his coup was deadly & bloody. Others were more of arrest and imprisonment sort of.
Secondly, SE and other political zones are just a political map drawn by politicians for their own selfish gains; Has nothing to do with tribe or culture. Chukwuma Nzeogwu is Igbo by tribe.

It means we have all the oil in the country? Thanks.

Because Dimka was hunted, arrested and executed by firing squad straight away unlike one tribe doing one magomago and pampering their own coupists like Kings just because they belonged to same tribe. But in end, karma made them cry blood.

We have been asking show us what makes you believe Ikwerres are Igbos. As a matter of fact Ikwerres have changed the game by saying Igbos are Ikwerres who migrated a long time ago to the hinterland. The group migrated from far east Africa through Cameroon and setttled first in Rivers State and its environs. After a while some including the Igbos started migrating away from Rivers State to the hinterland.
