2. When did you get the request and an appointment? there is no available appointment in Lagos.

Hello Everyone! Please my spring semester Visa appointment was denied in Lagos consulate on 29th December 2022 but my school has moved my admission to fall semester and I'm to resume on August. The promised to send me a new I 20 on mid February for me to reapply for visa but I'm confused if I should go to another consulate (Abuja) or should I still go back to the Lagos consulate where I was denied my first visa application.
Pls I need your help.

Do your research
You only need to book EA with ds-160, later you pay sevis fee later after securing an appointment. Remember that sevis fee is $350, valid for 1 year and you can't even pay it in Nigeria. Pay it when your appointment date is close.

But have you seen anyone whose EA was approved without SEVIS receipt, this thing is done once oooo, so please can you confirm this, my start date is jan 19th, so do I go on and request for one.

The person told you the truth. I have also posted a detailed procedure from admission to interview and beyond. I think you can find it two threads back.

As for your situation, you have two options: it is either you immediately request an extension (day of your arrival) letter from your school/program and apply for an emergency appointment, or you defer your admission till Fall 2023.

I think it is , one of documents needed for emergency is the sevis fee receipt. If it has been approved before without it then wow , first time I’m hearing it . But I think paying and uploading the receipt is better . Better safe than sorry

Of course you can request for an emergency but it won’t be approved . The consular who will approve/reject must see the sevis fee receipt with other documents. If the sevis fee receipt is missing, the consular will deny the request. Now this is for emergency appointment.

Bank account? YES! In fact, B1/B2 visa holders can open a bank account.
