Wapgod:

I did some research in order to help you.
Their APT E-Trade seems non-functional.
Kindly avoid using this stockbroker.
That's not true. I use APT-E trade and it works for me most of the times. If you have used it and experienced specific issues then you can say it but to say is "non functional " is an exaggeration

I am just tired of the people invading this thread.
Something I tried and did not work is what you are saying is working for you most of the time.

Hello House,

One of my investments on I-invest platform expires today. It is N1.5m investment in short.

I have been hearing about dollarization of cash as one of the means to mitigate depreciation in the value of naira and I don't have a clear-cut knowledge on how to go about it. I also learnt it helps while buying car(s) or if someone intends to migrate out of this country.

A knowledgeable somebody should please help to throw light on how to go about this please.

Dollar funds are USD funds (Eurobonds and co).
You need to have A Domiciliary account and a minimum of $1000 to start.

The advantage is that you earn interest in USD, which is a good edge against Nigerian inflation.

When did you use it.I have been with them for over 12 years now.why I asked is because they have been dribbling me for over a year now since I have been asking for access to use it since I am no longer comfortable with the analog way I was doing with them. And now considering to move out my portfolio to another house if they continue to dribble me.Is just the wahala/time it takes to move to another house that has kept with them

You are believing the guy.
He is probably their staff undercover.
Most of these stockbrokers are nothing to write home about.

They will most likely continue to dribble you when you want to do an inter-member transfer.
Remember that inter-member transfer will require their approval and cooperation.

If you want to move your portfolio to another house, get your target house (where you want to move) to initiate the process. Provide them with needed documents, especially your recent CSCS statement. If there is any unreasonable delay, threaten to report the releasing house to the NGX, and actually do so if they don't respond within your deadline.
NGX could be swift if you have nothing outstanding with the releasing house.

The last time I did that was about 10years ago and it was via a formal letter I dropped at their office.
Their email contact should be on their website. Maybe on enquiry, you might be redirected.

Another way to transfer your portfolio is to have a Special Account with CSCS.

Once set up, you can move any or all your shares in a firm into that special account and store there. You can also detach those shares to another firm you use whenever you want. You can also transfer shares from as many firms you use to the special account as long as they all have the same CHN. And detach any or all to your preferred firm. Any of these actions can be effected in less than 48hours.

The above was how it worked some years ago, but your stockbroker can advise you on current modalities for CSCS Special Accounts.

The problem with this is CSCS is difficult to contact, I am talking from personal experience.
I considered this option last year but decided against it because of the above reason.
There is just many problems wrong with the Nigerian Financial Industry.

It is obvious you are thr agent. If I check my record. I won't be surprised that I have been with them upto 15years.i never said they whr not serving me well.I had no reason to complain because most brokers I was equally using then whr analog. Infact one of thr present top oga was my account officer then thr office was at investment building in kd.And when I started using brokers with e trade I stopped transacting with them.I still have good investment with them.If you have been in this mark in the time of ipos, gtb @10.60,zenith @10.90,fbn @33,Dan sugar @18,Dan floor @ 15,ubcapital 1.20,Apr 1.80 etc
.And I hardly sell my stocks. Then I saw stock market as a way of saving money. Now I know better and want to take advantage of any opportunity I see and rebalance my investment
They only issue I had with them is they always buy for me then at the highest price for the day.And when I place limit, they won't buy claiming they could not get at my price
The last transfer I did from inactive house took over 6 months even when the inactive house owed me some cash in my account .

Streetinvestor2, if u have an issue try follow the right channel not to come out in the open to demarket an organization. In respect to the challenges u had with APT Securities E-Trade platform, did u make any official complain? l say this because am surprise @ ur outburst concerning this firm. APT Securities is among the top ten Stockbroking Firm in Nigeria. In year 2022 they were 2nd in the best performing Stockbroking Firm across board. As u have stated that you want to take advantage of any opportunity to rebalance ur investment, pls do so as prices of stocks are very attractive now to enter. Least i forget, I personally use APT Securities. Quickly watchout for these stocks...Transcorp, Access Bank, Presco, Wapco, AIICO, Sterling Bank, Afriprud, MTNN, Nestle Food etc

Whr did I demarket Apt.Infact I have personal relationships with my formal account officer who is a present top manager and my present account officer. This is the reason I have not left them.Through out last year I tried making them give me access to use the e trade. They keep posting me.For years I don't trade through them again because of the analog pattern. I only asked here to confirm if it is even functional.
If you are with them, tell me if you use it and when you used it last.I I have written them the first week of this year and the reply was they will get back to me.And till now nothing. All I want to know if they have functional e trade form from third party.

What makes you sure ?
It will surely come to that level post dividends if the prices doesn't rise further before dividend ex date. Especially if the dividends stay flat at 80 kobo.

And can go even further down if the results are not so good or if the dividends go further down or if there are issues with the elections. Aside from any of these the prices will go up. And no one is sure of the direction it will take wink
