We should be faithful to ourselves for once. Somebody started a company in Lagos. Bravo right!!! How does that build up the people? I was expecting some statistics to come out from here like the company will provide a certain numbers of jobs to Nigerians? Don't be too surprised if they are fully occupied by Indians or Chinese. Again, I think with that company coming up, I will here that the price of lubricant will now be cheaper by certain percentage or reduction in price, then we will say, good for us but without that, it is exercise in futility. They are just making money for themselves and themselves alone. I think it is high time we began to hold each of them accountable and also the media including Nairaland. Which way Nigerian, we should wise up. Thank you.
so he should full it with IPOB who will wake up one morning and take instructions from kanu or ekpa to burn in down .No way. any enterprise with more than 3 ipob is at serious risk .

This is how many business owners round the country and all over the world have been investing and building their businesses in Lagos for decades and even centuries due to strategic location and importance of the state in Nigeria and West Africa subregion, but some good-for-nothing urchins will come around to tell you that one iragbiji man built Lagos.

Lagos was capital from 1914 to 1990. Major infrastructures, embasies, headquarters of co.panies were established there, major roads and bridges built from Niger Delta oil as well as allocations.

If Yorubas built Lagos, why have they not replicated it in other Yoruba states?

Nigerians built Lagos and it belongs equally to all Nigerians. Proximity is favouring Yorubas to havr voting majority

Well you're entitled to your opinion.
Next time you have reason to fill in State of Origin in a document feel free to insert Lagos state.
That's the last I'll say on this

Good and very huge investment unlike those thieving politicians that go to abroad to hide our stolen money in foreign banks instead of investing at home

You know its the truth. Even you from Lagos has been displaced from producing the governor since 1999. Tinubu from Osun, Fashola from Ekiti, Ambode from Ondo, Sanwo-Olu from Ogun...Jimi Agbaje from Lagos rejected, Jandor is from Lagos...lets see if he'd
be rejected.

You console yourself that any Yoruba can.be governor, why indigene of Lagos never be Ekiti or Oyo governor?
Lagos State is not just Apapa

That plant is in Apapa
It is not sitting on virgin land but on land which their family has controlled for long used for other business
There is a lot of rural Lagos with still communities off grid and no electricity.
There are still virgin forests in Lagos state with monkeys and significant rural farming
There are Ibos from the Delta growing cassava and making garri in Lagos
Most people who claim to know the state only know metropolitan Lagos
People have been displaced in Lagos ,because of economic pressure, The same is true in Port Harcourt,Abuja,London and elsewhere
The main displacement is not even Land
Our families were fishermen now they catch very little because of pollution ,overcrowding etc and some parts of the Lagoon have dried up
You are not speaking out of love but spite
Singapore has 5 million people and an area of 760 square Kilometres

Kudos to Sayyu Dantata. Another feather to his cap.

With Tinubu at the wheels…
and Dangote, Adenuga, Dantata, Otedola captaining the oil economy…

And the millions of innovative, intelligent and patriotic Nigerian youths and farmers developing the non-oil sector of the economy…

I can say the future of Nigeria is bright 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
May their businesses continue to grow, amen. You, dsalvo and Magnoliaa are some of the most reasonable and intelligent people here. I know I will discover others as I explore this forum further.

The Hausa/Fulanis in particular are really trying.

You don't have to be aggressive because someone differs from your view. It's uncivilized.

Stop obfuscating or muddling up issue. Go straight to the point if you really know what you are saying.

Apart from looting and stacking our money into foreign banks, which one of our Northern military ruler made a significant conscious effort to make Northerners the formost captains of our industries? Because to my knowledge, Yorubas and Igbos have always been even during the so called Northern dominated military ruler.

The our own share of oil bloc, NDDC, appointments, presidency, etc., what did we make of it?

I wasn’t aggressive in any sense. Maybe you should go back and read through his response to my comments. By the way he could have just made his comments without quoting me.

Back to you!!

The same northerners are the ones pillaging the countries resources. Why do governors need to go to Abuja to lobby before they get their monthly allocation?

Why are the different ministries headed by northerners stealing hundreds of billions?

How many governors of northern extraction have been prosecuted for corruption by the Financial Agencies especially the EFCC?

Why are the northern states hiding their resources and monies realized from them without remitting to the federal government coffers?

Why are herdsmen on a killing spree round the country without government investing and prosecuting them?

Why are monies seized from governors from the SS, SE, and SW. it returned to their respective states and not to FG coffers?

Just so you may know, northerners are the most corrupt set of people on earth. They are just shrouded in religion, nothing else!

To many questions to be asked without answers, because we are second class citizen in respect to the northern hegemony!!

Shame on those who cannot see all these!! Really shame..

I'm not speaking out of hate. What I am telling you is that the more you encourage industries to come to Lagos, the more you lose Lagos because more people would be attracted by those industries thereby further diluting the local population.

Some myopic persons erroneously think all development is good...they never think of overcrowding, loss of traditional heritage et all.

No matter the revenue gotten from these companies, life won't be decent because you've too many people in a small space

You can attract investment, manage it and at the same time preserve your cultural heritage.

Edinburgh hasn’t lost its Celtic heritage. Great city but the kilts, bagpipes and the tartan will be the first thing you’ll notice when you come out of the Waverley.
Dubai has attracted great investment but has managed to preserve it Arabic and cultural heritages.
Paris hasn’t lost it cultural heritage, Shanghai and Beijing haven’t, Rome has not.

Both can sit side by side and complement each other.
A great Lagos will be a pride.
