Hello Amosey Do well to inform IRCC, so they can have the information at the POE before you arrive in Canada. If you don't update IRCC and you get to the POE, there will be issues except you meet a POE officer that won't ask you too many questions. Peace Amosey: |

Hello Migo Just provide a family tree explaining to the Visa officer how related she is to you. And if she has sponsored you in the past, that will be an added advantage. Peace Migo1: |

Hello akinloluazeez This is the mistake most people make. Lump sum is never an issue, the issue is when you don't explain in detail to the Visa officer how the lump sum came about. Let them know the source and the reason/purpose of the said amount and make sure you provide documents to back up your claims. IRCC Visa officers love seeing documents that further convince them of your claims. Peace akinloluazeez: |

Renew your passport asap and travel before July. When you get to Canada, ask for an extension to the end date of your program. Peace Gsrt: |

Has anybody applied to any Ontario College through OCAS..pls how long does their admiison take? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by makano: 1:59pm On Feb 04, 2023 |
Hello Habeebboy You didn't state if you have submitted your application or not. Medicals can be done before or after the submission of your application, biometrics is only done after your application is submitted. Peace Habeebboy: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by makano: 2:01pm On Feb 04, 2023 |
Hello Republic There are many schools under OCAS, so the duration of admission depends on the individual schools. But with my experience with the admission process of some OCAS schools, admission shouldn't take more than 2 months. Peace Republic001: |

Good day everyone. I would love to relocate to Canada through study. I'm a graduate of microbiology with 3.2 CGPA and I graduated in 2010. I have been working as a sales representative with pharmaceutical companies since after NYSC. What course can I go for as "post graduate" studies? Can I get a masters degree admission with my CGPA? Wch sch and course? Do I have to go for a second degree or college? ....considering the fact that I have left sch for over 10yrs, is dt a criteria for admission? I don't want to do IELTS,so which sch should I choose? An uncle in UK is suggesting any course related to biotechnology or biomedical......, He said dt job availability is high for the course. I'm looking at September admission, pls all the gurus here should come to my aid plsss *PROVINCES WITH QUICK 'PR' TOO SHD BE SUGGESTED* @bullstriker @ketima @lekiboboe @technix @Anon123 @Makano |

I constantly keep seeing many people asking how to order gcms notes; although it's been answered hundreds of times on this Thread. I will just put it here on how to order GCMS NOTES! How to apply GCMS / ATIP notes. Only a person who is in Canada can request the notes. Get your sponsor to request on PA'S behalf! If principal applicant is in Canada, he/she can request for himself and apply for free under Privacy Act. If sponsor is requesting it on behalf of Principal applicant, you need consent form from PA and $5 fee. You can receive consent form from spouse via email and upload it. Apply under Access to Information Act. It takes about 30 days to receive by email. It is a 30 pages document (can be more than 30 pages) Consent form: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5744.asp Section A - Principal Applicant details Section B - Sponsor's details Section C - Sponsor's details GCMS Notes: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp In above link, click Apply online, choose English , hit Next and accept the terms & conditions. Next enter the below details: Requester Information Department: Citizenship and Immigration Canada Title: Family Name: Given Name(s) (First Name): Mailing Address: Telephone No.: E-mail Address: Requesting information on your own behalf? Yes / No Category of Requester: Member of the Public Right of Access: Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or Individual/corporation currently present in Canada Method of Delivery: E-mail Act & Record Selection Act: Privacy Act / Access to Information Act - select this for GCMS notes for PA residing outside of Canada. Language of records: English Type of Records: Case Files Requesting information for: Surname (Family Name): Given Name(s) (First Name): Date of Birth (YYYY-MM-DD): Client ID Number (####-####): Type of Documents: Notes in Electronic File File Type: Immigration file: permanent residence ( You can also request for Sponsorship File, if SA is delayed ) File Number: Attach documents: Proof of access ( PR card, visa doc, or passport ), Consent Form. Make payment ($5) and submit. *NOTE* You do not have to be physically present in Canada to order your GCMS NOTES; However, you need to be either a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident in order to request notes on Applicant's behalf! Since you are not a recent graduate, go for a program related to your present occupation. Biotech and Biomed are lucrative, but you will have challenges establishing the program's relevance to your present and career path. Most schools require a 2.1 for masters; others consider a 2.2 if you did well in the last two years. Don’t go for another degree to avoid the issue of redundancy unless you have a well-defined reason. Instead, go for a post-graduate cert or diploma. The 10-year gap is not an issue. Most schools exempt Nigerian graduates from taking IELTS. Some years ago, most people preferred Atlantic provinces because their programs were favourable to temporary residents. Now, most provinces have PNP tailored for students and workers in their province. So, for now, focus on getting your study permit; you can go for a 2-yr program to get a 3-yr PGWP. Three years is enough time to accumulate the required Canadian work experience. ‘Quick’ PR depends on factors like Language test score, level of education completed, work experience, age, relatives in Canada etc. Heritagebib: |

Amosey:Just as Makano said, please ensure you inform IRCC via email/webform. You don't want to get to POE and not be able to explain your self. They are big on dates and timing here. |

God bless you for the quick response. Pls when u say " post graduate diploma" do you mean I should go to college? Sales representative job is a marketing job and I think dt is social sciences; I actually have a science background and I want to tow d line. Somebody suggested "occupational health" in Cape Breton university, Novascotia The long and short of my fear is " I want to study a course that is relevant both home and abroad". I am soo sorry for the long epistles bullstriker: |

Amosey:2. You will probably need extension in the future or later for the intended program or to complete the program, your study permit won't go beyond the date stated on the validity of letter of introduction. Permit is issued and valid from and on the date you arrived in canada.whatever step you take next.. Take your previous LOA and new Loa with you to canada, you will need to explain the situations above to the POE officer. In the case if asked to explain.. |

Hello Here, Good afternoon and trust everyone is keeping well, especially those in Nigeria. The CBSA documents for my daughter just arrived, and the reasons provided by the VO shows an error on their end. - VO commented that POF will not cover for the accompanying 3 children and my daughter might not leave Canada at the end of study (see attached screenshot). I showed almost 10,000 CAD as additonal available funds aside from my tuition, personal living expenses and daughter's living expenses. I have just one child, and the portion of POF I pointed out will be used for her was tagged as other costs on my own GCMS note, no reference to my daughter in my GCMS notes, even though details of my husband who is non-accompanying was detailed in the GCMS notes. My study permit was approved on Dec 1st 2022 while hers was refused on Sept 1st 2022, even though both applications were submitted together. Refusal reason was insufficient funds on the refusal letter. I raised a reconsideration review earlier before I got her CBSA notes but haven't heard back from IRCC. Do i proceed with a fresh study permit application for her, and include these details in the LOE, or follow up with the reconsideration reviews? I have a baby on the way who I intend to apply for by month end, so i really need constructive ideas on how to proceed.
