Guest911:

As long as your sponsor is not your parent or siblings or life partner, you need to show why they are sponsoring you, any evidence of your sponsor sponsoring you in the past you should show it.

And Bottom line is, it is very important you show evidence that the money is not just for show. If you can transfer the money to your sponsor and have them pay your tuition that should help.

Okay

BenedictStinson:

Even if he has 1million cad in his account, he still has to show commitment to sponsoring you especially as you are not a direct family member (sister-in law) by either paying your school fees or transferring the money for your school fees/expenses to your account

Actually the account he provided first was a joint account that’s my sister and her husband , but due to the account is meant for daily expenses so he decided to use his salary account and the cash flow was okay . He wrote a letter with his company details., provided documents to support it .

Good evening,
Please I have been on the processing of my Canadian Student visa since last year. I did my biometrics on September 27, 2022 and my medicals on 8th of December, 2022 of which the result has been uploaded that I passed. I have been expecting to hear from IRCC for my passport to be submitted for visa. I have to get across to my school to defer my admission because I was to resume on 6 February, 2023. Please what could have been the reason for the delay? Has anyone been in this type of situation before to throw more light. Thanks in anticipation.

They have not started for September intake chill. By March or April you will get a decision

This might not be totally correct. I got my LOA in just 2 weeks in November 2022, against fall this year.

Some major programs are even closed for fall 2023 intake. That tells you the number of applications Conestoga has to process as mentioned by Frank

The delay is a big issue.

Have you tried to contact them through mails and webforms? Was the medical submitted an "upfront" or "requested" by IRCC. Sometimes the complexity of application determines the processing time. And again I think IRCC takes more time to process sponsored application compared to self sponsored. Was yours a sponsored one? As it is you may have to schedule a daily submission of mails and webforms, concentrating on nairobi@international.gc.ca, lagos@international.gc.ca, and abuja@international.gc.ca. it has worked for many people here.

Don’t return the money to dad’s account. Instead, explain to them that you initially applied for admission to a school in Ireland and paid the tuition fee, and when your visa was refused, the school refunded the fee as per their refund policy. Moreover, Canada shares a database with them, so you have to disclose it.
Republic001:
Hi guys i have a refusal from Ireland last year...My tuition was transferred by my father through his accountant to my account which I explained in the SOP for the ireland visa. upon refusal, the school has refund the money back to my account but now I would be using the money to pay part of the Tuition fee for my admiison in Canada. Pls how do I explained the money was sent from my sponsor to the account earlier! Shd I return the money to him and ask him to send back or I shd explain how he sent it earlier and upload the account statement page of when the accountant send it on his instruction last year or how do I go about it! Pls I need advice on this. Thank you.

Hi Nairalanders!
Bulstriker,
Lekiboboe,
Frankrobbn1, and other great minds here...

Thanks for your great contributions on this platform. I had refusals in 2019 and 2020. Generally based on "Purpose of Visit" and "Personal Assets and Financial Status". I used my in-law as sponsor and he had just almost 7M in his account then, and my personal account was 2.6M. I was working in the private sector then, in administration. *Attached here is what my GCMS Notes say.

It's actually a PhD program in Québec. I have a scholarship of exemption which allows me to pay as Canadian citizens. Also have a 5kCAD Welcome Award.

Started the program online in Fall 2020 during Covid lockdown but had the refusal in October. Was encouraged by my supervisor/department to continue since everything was online.

Many things have happened since then.
Now, I'm a lecturer in a Federal University here in Nigeria. Two years done already in my PhD program with God helping me to get excellent grades. I now have additional scholarships from my university and faculty which cover all tuition and living expenses for the entire remaining part of the program (2 years). And also a job as research assistant to my supervisor upon arrival. I am married but without children yet. My wife is a lecturer in a Federal Polytechnic for almost 11 years now.

Now, my questions are these:
- Is it compulsory I add my personal statement of account to my application?
- As of now, I have just 1.5M in my account. Will that be enough if at all I should add it?
- Is my present job and family enough home ties? My wife is not traveling with me.

Please guys, scan through my case and help me with advice and suggestions to fire back successfully this time. I am resuming for summer semester (May 2023).

*** My LOA was normally not renewed, since I have already started the program and gone far in it. My registry rather gave me my up to date Attestation of Registration and Statement of Results. My faculty also gave me an Attestation of my academic progress, stating how far I've gone and my new date of resumption. I also have receipts of all the tuitions I paid during this period: Generally between 1000 and 1500k CAD, depending on number of units. *** I hope IRCC will not have issues with the LOA.

Thank you all great minds in advance for your contributions.
God bless us all!

Words of advise to women who are coming without their spouses..if you coming with kids..get ready!!! I notice nobody talks about the reality on ground…It will hit hard, you will question why you embarked on the journey..

Don’t let any agent deceive you to leave your spouse behind..I know they say it increases one’s chance ..who go get visa to get visa or better still..come alone first and do all the ground work then your kids can join you later..

People are not giving feedback on their first few months as international student with kids and no spouse.

If you insist, pls come into the country earlier..like two months before resumption..common mistakes women without their spouse make..

Come with plenty money too..plenty plenty money..if you know anyone in Canada (family) connect with them to see if they can accommodate pending when your sort accommodation..

Accommodation is one hell of a task for women with kids..you will go through hell and back before you find one .. even if you can prove that you can afford they won’t still give..

Last last some of us paid 6 months upfront!

Not to put fears but prepare yourself..prepare hard!

Don’t make the mistake of coming alone without spouse..spouse can accompany, then he returns once you are settled..

The worst time to travel as a mom with kids and no spouse is winter!!!!!!

No fears..just prepare yourself! Relocation is huge! Prepare!!!!!!

2 coloured photocopy of your passport data page, printed copy of your biometrics letter note: print all the pages o I had to go back to print the last page when I was already at the counter... Print your appointment confirmation letter too. The photocopies can be black and white except data page and go with nose masks. Print all this documents before leaving home it is very expensive to print at vfs.

This issue is common with people that come to us for Ph.D. or masters study permit application. Most people with scholarships assume they have met the financial requirement just by submitting scholarship letters. While this is correct in theory, Vos can ask the ‘what if’ questions, as they know that the scholarship is based on you maintaining satisfactory progress in the program. In addition, temporary resident applications, such as a study permit, are based on the discretion of the visa officer; one VO can approve your application, and the same application can be refused if given to another VO. So, you must add your account with substantial funds; have at least one year of living expenses. Better still, get a sponsor, even if it is a third-party sponsor to avoid stories that touch the heart.

The previous application would have been approved if you demonstrated that the funds in your sponsor’s account were accessible and what he would be paying for. Having a scholarship does not mean that VO will not ‘serve you breakfast’ for insufficient finance, as these scholarships, though available, is only accessible when you meet certain requirements. Another Vo can still refuse your application with a full scholarship. However, if you detailed and mentioned precisely what the scholarship cover, how much will be provided per period and when it will be disbursed, you can get away with it. Suppose you don’t have additional funds or a sponsor. In that case, I recommend you ask for a support letter from your Head of Department or supervisor addressed to IRCC stating that they GUARANTEED MAXIMUM FINANCIAL SUPPORT for tuition and living expenses and you are a highly deserving student.

Yes, family and jobs are strong ties. You can demonstrate this by getting a leave of absence or study.

Attestation of Registration and Statement of Results are acceptable in lieu of updated LoA when attached to the initial LoA.

It should please you to know that most VOs will treat your application kindly, having completed almost half of the program in Nigeria even after a refusal. The key to getting your application approved lies in your SoP.
