Language or rather words have meanings. Genius has a specific meaning. Use it appropriately. Whatever Brendan Rogers is, he is but genius is definitely not one of them.

Do you know that even being the best does not qualify someone to be a genius? So the bolded is what you think in your estimation makes him a genius? If there's a ranking of exceptional coaches, I doubt if Roger will be in the first 30.

Heck, Mourinho was seen as the special one when he was throwing eleven men behind the ball. With his trophies, I don't consider him a genius.

I see genius as being able to decipher complex systems, break them down and pass it on.

That is what Rodgers was able to do on his own. It is different from now Guardiola and some other coaches have now taught the system around. Rodgers did his on his own.

Genius.

Only armchair football experts will argue that Iheanacho won't get a decent club in the premier league to sign him if he decides to leave Leicester today..
The guy has built himself a good reputation football wise in England...His agent just need to do his work...

What reputation ❓

One very good season out of 6 seasons so far the rest have been abysmally poor.

No amount of statistical manipulation is going to make him a top striker.

The key component for quality is CONSISTENCY, which in one regard he has been consistently poor.

You may wish to say because he didn't start games or enough game time. Luckily all the strikers for Leicester in the HERE and NOW are poor including Vardy.

CAF U20 AFCON: Flying Eagles ArriveIn Casablanca For One Week Camping

Nigeria’s U20 boys, Flying Eagles have now settled down in Morocco’s commercial and economic capital, Casablanca for a one-week final training camp ahead of the Africa U20 Cup of Nations starting next week Saturday in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Head Coach Isah Ladan Bosso and wards are staying at the Novotel Hotel in Mohammedia, just outside Casablanca, and the head strategist is upbeat about the readiness of his boys to sustain their winning mentality when the tournament kicks off in nine days.

“We have been able to sustain the same mood we had in camp before going for the WAFU B U20 Championship in Niamey, which we won. Since then, we have played a series of matches and scored plenty of goals, and that is immense for a winning mentality to stay within a team.

“However, we are not going to under-rate any of our opponents. Defeating Zambia in Abuja was good for confidence but we know championship mood would be tougher. We will be ready to do the country proud.”

Nigeria’s first match of the campaign, as they attempt an eighth continental title, will be against Senegal’s Cub Lions at the Cairo International Stadium starting from 9pm Egypt time on Sunday, 19th February. The Flying Eagles, two-time FIFA World Cup runners-up and one-time bronze medallists, will then face hosts Egypt on Wednesday, 22nd February (same time and same venue) and Mozambique on Saturday, 25th February (same time and same venue).

All four semi-finalists at the 12-team championship in Egypt will qualify to fly Africa’s flag at the FIFA U20 World Cup finals to be staged in Indonesia 20th May – 11th June this year.

Nigeria’s 21-man Squad for Egypt 2023 U20 AFCON:

Nathaniel Nwosu, Augustine Njoku, Solomon Agbalaka, Daniel Daga, Abel Ogwuche, Daniel Bameyi, Rilwanu Haliru Sarki, Nicholas Jonathan, Ahmed Abdullahi, Muhammad Aminu, Ibrahim Muhammad, Benjamin Frederick, Emmanuel Uchegbu, Onuche Ogbelu, Jude Sunday, Akanbi Saheed Jimoh, Ayuba Francis Abubakar, Samson Lawal, Olamilekan Adams, Caleb Ochedikwu, Chijioke Aniagboso

You can make your point without the don't mind.

Now to the point, Rodgers did not rise to the coach of Liverpool by being average. Rodgers got Swansea playing a beautiful brand of football with a modern philosophy before the widespread of its tactical motifs.

I repeat, his draw back is his sentiments. Look at the kind of players he used to put four past Tottenham. That is not the coaching of an average manager.

Finito.

Correct if am wrong but isn't that sentiments of his that makes him whack and not a genius? Results are what makes you genius and not I get am before. When we talk of geniuses, please rather put Guardiola instead. Then no one will question it. why? It's there for even the blind to see

If I were to describe Brendan Rodgers, I would say he is a bottler. The very best of em! A serial sentimental bottler. Finish en klaar!

I think it is time and chance. There was a time we had a dearth of midfielders and defenders but no striker. Now we are embarrassed with attacking talents a thin midfield and not too okay defense. It will all balance out soon.

Out of bias, obviously you've decided to judge Iheanacho purely on his premier league career with Leicester.. Yet, he holds the record as the only player to score in every single days of the week in premier league history. statistically, he is 15th on the ranking of players with the best goal+assists to minutes played ratio... I'm very sure somebody like Weghorst that joined Man Utd recently didn't have that kind of reputation...

Relax.. you will be here when Iheanacho secures a move out of Leicester...

Some people will blame Gerrard's slip as what caused Liverpool the league in 2014, but for me, it was Rodgers's lack of insight into our defence problem... That season we scored over a hundred goals and conceded over 50.... We basically won most games by outscoring our opponents... It wasn't until that ill fated Crystal Palace game that everything burst!
His Leicester team plays exactly the same way... Good attack, terrible defence...
Any tactical genius will identify flaws in his game and work toward fixing them..

Thegoodjoe, I think Rodgers is an offensive tactical genius, not exactly a real genius..... Man won't succeed at a top club (Don't mention Celtic)

Rodgers bias is his draw back from reaching the Pinnacle of the game. Not his tactical acumen. If you wanted Rodgers to have improved on the way you guys conceded goals that season, it would have meant sacrificing some of Liverpool's firepower.

It worked and he played some stellar stuff that season. I think his bias was the problem the following season.

The point I am trying to pass is that with Rodgers deep tactical knowledge, a player can learn a lot tactically from him and improve as a whole.

In that respect, the bottler does not come to play.

However, I am also talking about Rodgers tactical brilliance in his depth of understanding tactics.

Knowing it well and understanding it in depth counts takes Genius. However, he bottles it because of his sentiments.

That is very far from the truth. Outside the 5 minutes of madness when they conceded 3 goals Rivers United were the better team. Everything about them was good apart from their finishing. They created way more chances and if not for poor finishing this could easily have been a draw.
