Hello All,

Please I need some advice on this.
My family will like to come attend my graduation ceremony in July.
I finished my MSc in January and just switched to a skilled worker visa.
My mum, dad and little sis(13 years) will be coming from Nigeria. While my elder sis will apply from US. My mum and sis are the only ones with a travel history outside Nigeria.

I have the following questions please;
1) is there a limit to the number of family members I can invite.
2) Do they need proof of income/funds?
3) when should we start the visa application?

Basically I would appreciate any form of information or advice I can be given regarding this. Especially from those who have done same process.

Thank you so much.

Hi all, So I am applying for a Uk visa (visitor), in my application I have included my employment evidence (pay stub). My bank statements (both savings and chequing), invitation letter from a friend (on work visa) and proof of pr (I am a permanent resident of canada). My savings account has almost 8k dollars, I would be going to the uk just to see a few friends, I’m spending a week. Was just wondering if i need to include anything else or this is good. Thank you

ToyinOA:
Hello house,

I’m trying to apply for a UK visa for my mum.
Here is my situation -
1. I live in Canada and would be sponsoring the trip. She has previously been denied a Canadian visa however, we have reapplied.
2. My sister travelled to UK last December with a tier 2 visa and would not be sponsoring as her account isn’t too buoyant
3. My mum is retired (she used to run a personal business) and now lives off her rent for her property and her biweekly stipends from me.
4. She has about 3.5+million in her bank account. I would be covering the cost of her flight ticket and accommodation
5. She has had several UK visas before now but her last visa expired almost 10 years ago
6. The purpose of her travel was usually to visit her sister who is a UK citizen so I’m thinking of putting purpose of visit as to see her sister who has hasn’t seen in about 3 years (her sister came to Naija 3 years ago) and to also see her daughter.
Would this fly?
What documents would I need to support this application?
I’m also considering buying a flight ticket and paying for Airbnb. Would this fly?

Thank you so much guys.

Her profile is ok. Just make sure that you state the facts in the comment box and write an introduction letter too.

Good morning, my piece of advice, apply as tourist, I saw a reject on 20th Feb 2023, application was refused cos she didn’t proof relationship with claimed uncle, though the main reason for refusal was cos they couldn’t get to the employer to confirm her employment.

But if you can prove the relationship with conversations, you can give it a try.

Why didn't your employer take his/her call? The next option is for your employer to write to the embassy

You have a solid profile, a Canadian PR and you’re not applying from Nigeria. I’m not confirming the scrutiny is less for this type of applications, but it is, if we’re being honest. I have a friend who has a US green card(about 1.5 years since she got it) and applied from the US. She didn’t even have more than 1000 dollars in her account at the time of the application, and didn’t submit any introduction letter from her employer and she got her Visa with zero travel history except her relocation trip to the US.

All the calcu and planning we have to do here and in many third world countries even as genuine visitors to UK,EU and US, you’re lucky to avoid that with the kind of visitor profile you have.

The realities differ. Summarized response is, you’re good to go.

150k naira

150k is quite poor to plan on funding your trip to the Uk.

Hi all,
I need some advice. I was granted a visitor's visa (6months)to the UK this march. Its a 4 day trip and would definitely go and return. My question is can I apply for either student/ temporary workers visa/ visa sponsorship jobs before my UK Visitors Visa expires?

You applied for a visitor's visa.

To apply for other categories, you have to return and follow the guidelines on the UKVI page.

In addition, Please read and understand the various categories.

Then, you will know the best platform for your next trip.

You are mixing things up (student/ temporary workers visa/ visa sponsorship jobs) The conditions and requirements for these categories are not same as your ongoing visa.

Betterstill, you rephrase and make your question much clearer.

Hi everyone! Is there any standard visitor who did bio on 10th or 13th February and has not received a collection email? I'm disturbed because I know of some standard visitors who received their collection emails within 9 days during the month of January and even early February.

Thank you. Who would need to send her a letter of invitation to the Uk. Would this need to be her retired sister or my sister or can that be skipped since none of them is sponsoring her?

You can apply if you meet the requirements which are clearly stated on the government website.

1.Not really it depends on funds available but don’t apply for a football team.I had 5 at my graduation in 2011 but all immediate family.

2.Yes you need to prove the trip can be afforded.

3.Ideally by May as wait time is average 4weeks.

Hello guys, Can I have a rough estimate of how much it would cost to rent a single bedroom or even a cheap hotel room for at least 5 days on a visit to UK with a standard visitor visa?

What is the living expenses in UK of at least one week? Can I get a sum that is required of me to show the financial capacity as Proof of funds in a bank statement that I can sponsor myself or that my uncle can sponsor me for living expense on a visit for at least 5 days?

Okay this is the roughest estimate ever and am bored this evening so here goes…
I would peg the cheapest decent bed and breakfast at £50 so by 5 days you looking at £250.
I would strongly advise against a self service room especially private arrangements in the south east like Woolwich,Plumstead,Abbeywood as too much can go wrong and there goes your deposit.
Have a look on booking.com for a better guide.

To get around you would need a week oyster or a Visitors Oyster card that can take you across the zones via train and buses let’s call that another £100 but if you take a black cab and/or bolt it would be a lot higher.

For food are you a MacDonald’s guy/supermarket restaurant or Nando’s/five guys type?.Or Nigerian restaurant like 805/Tasties?.Or fine dinning with jazz playing in the background at the shard?.If you basic and can eat in Wetherspoon ild say £45 a day x 5 days that’s another £225.

You don’t live in the Uk but are a visitor so your kind of shopping determines eg whether you a primark/Asda sort of shopper or you go big and land in timberland!.

So it’s all about life style thats £575
Let’s call shopping £400
ticket £600
vex money £25
Grand total £1600 that’s by 800 1,280,000.00

For sponsorship you are welcome to show 3-6 months statement with a good consistency and healthy balance which has not been fixed just for the occasion.Your inflow determines this

If you an adult and not in school it makes more sense for you to sponsor yourself.Use your Salary and/or Savings and/or current account.what do you do and earn?.Are you single? Why are you travelling?these are the factors.

I did not add money for tourist sites but there are quite a few free ones.

You welcome!.
