God never told them that, you are helping God again by saying what he didn't say.
.They still had slaves after the freedom, even Paul supported slavery in Eph 6:5-8, even Paul returned a runaway slave to the master in Phil 1:12

God even mentioned it in (Exo 20:10-17, Exodus 21:2-4, Deuteronomy 15:12). (Leviticus 25:39-46) Prolly you don't know some of us are even more grounded in the Bible.

Anyone who understands natural law would know that it is only a Person who was present at a particular time in view who gives a report in a present continuous tense.

1) in present tense when it is written by the author himself eg "My Transition Hours by Goodluck Jonathan.
