Now to the choice of leaders in the east, check the resume of Governors and National Assembly members in the 5 eastern states from 99 to date. You will see that almost all of them are very qualified for the position. However, their performance in office is a different issue as that is based on the leaders proving their mettle, not the electorates - who have done their work of casting votes. Mention one SE Governor that is not qualified (academics, business or know-how) for the position. So don't make it look like we have good candidates in an election, and we choose the worst. Soludo for example is the best amongst the people that came out for the Governorship election, you know his resume. But look at his performance now. Is it still the fault of Anambrarians that he is performing below per? No.
Moving forward from here, you can see that the people in the SE took care in changing a whole lot of politicians in the last election (all the HoR members in Anambra did not win re-election) for instance. And they will continue the trend for the Governorship and HoA election on Saturday.

There is nothing wrong about being born of an Igbo woman. Inter-tribal marriages are one of the beauties of a United Nigeria that should be celebrated. That doesn't make him (GRV) less Lagosian than the others. South-West governors Adeleke, Akeredolu and Makinde either have non-Yoruba (Igbo) spouses or mother and Yorubas never for once used that against them - they won their elections and re-elections convincingly. However, GRV is attracting unneeded negative attention to himself for openly using derogatory words other tribes use to demean Yorubas. I get it that he may not be proud of his Yoruba side and heritage but that is unfortunate and regretful for someone seeking elective position in a state with indigenous Yorubas. A simple apology or clarification would have helped but to show he isn't remorseful, he refused to address those genuine concerns.
Well for me personally, Funsho Doherty is the only one that has convinced me amongst all contestants with his clear and well defined manifesto, and he has also has valuable experience. It's too risky to carry out experiments with a state like Lagos by electing the likes of GRV and Jandor.

As the grim realities of misrule grind on Lagosians year after year, many are still living in the squalid and poverty-ridden areas of Ajegunle, Okokomaiko, Badagry, Ikorodu, Epe, Alimosho, Lagos Island, Lekki, Bariga, Shomolu, Ketu, Ojo and so on. The sadder reality is that most of the people living in such slum conditions have no hope in the next 50 years of being pulled out of poverty as they continue to suffer acute lack of electricity, potable water, decent accommodation, health and education facilities, gainful jobs and more, due their total oppression by the political elites.
So, right-thinking stakeholders are now asking: where are the so-called acclaimed massive developmental projects being trumpeted by the APC government to deceive voters for a second term when life still is short, hard and brutish in the state for most residents? Curiously, in this same ‘centre of excellence’, consultants to the state government collect over 50 billion naira annually in various commissions for taxes and other levies collected on behalf of the state. Multiple taxation that kills businesses is the order of the day, with all kangaroo kinds of consultants such as in inland revenue, tenement rates, land use charge, advert isement, telecom infrastructure, power infrastructure approvals, building permits, fund raising, markets, abattoir and transport unions all oppressing and fleecing Lagosians of their hard earned income. But where is all the money going into? Where is accountability for our commonwealth? Isn’t it time Lagosians woke up and demand concrete answers as the next elections approach fast?
The Labour Party governorship team of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) and his Deputy is firmly of the view that in every four years of an APC government, over N100 billion is frittered away in special fees payable to consultants and other politically backed rent seekers.
