@kingsceemark. D purpose of this keke ambulance is for effective health care delivery to d inner parts of our rural areas. Not a big deal in countries with difficulties in accessing their rural areas. As for Ogun state, their pry use is for effective delivery in their maternity/pry health care centres in the rural areas. U cant see it in major cities/town except wen it comes to pickup medical tools, drugs or equipment. It is being used by virtually all states in Nigeria in their rural areas where transport access is difficult. So wen u see something online, try to research on it before condemning it. Southeast states that I'm sure of using it are Abia, anambra, ebonyi. Pls google is ur friend. Some western countries where transport access is difficult are using mobile hospital/doctors in their rural areas. They achieve it through this method.

What if it is proposed to only transport medical equipments and drugs into respective hospitals and clinics?. See, we are not in govt carcus and govt should also try as much as possible to justifies settings like this so that people don't get a wrong sense of it.

You have a point. If it was purchased to transport medical items to remote hospitals/public health centers, then we know the govt is trying to save money or at least, doesn't want to use vehicles, which will be more expensive to purchase and maintain. But that said, I see AMBULANCE written on the keke. So I doubt this is for moving medical supplies around. It's for moving people.

As you said, "No sane govt would want to squeeze a human being inside that thing". Is any government in Nigeria sane? No.

Why can't the road be fixed? If it's an emergency situation that requires quick transportation of a person in distress,the terrain will be a stumbling block. A problem a keke ambulance can't fix. And we're back to the problem of the road. I think that there are better vehicles that can be used as ambulances for such terrains.

Do not be naive. Hilux vehicles can not be appropriate for those places. One hilux can buy about 10 of those yet the hilux will be more difficult to maintain. For some far flung interior villages I have visited, this will work better. They barely have footpaths and it is by hand the villagers clear it wide enough for them to even trek to pass.
Many of you live on social media and are ignorant. A village with two to five of this can get help faster than one with just one hilux

Many Nigerian states uses this. They provided this for the poor. The poor they still need their votes.
The poor they will buy with cups of rice, oil and garri during election.

Election in Nigeria is big business. Shareholders must recoup. The reason we have these . The price of one of these keke can buy latest model military ambulance made for rough terrains.
The same people condemning them are the same that their relatives or them will take bribes for election. After usa, the costliest country to run presidential election is Nigeria as well as governance, yet, its the poverty capital of the world. Ain't our lord good?

The most important thing is to move the patient: what the UN reported here is not even as good as what the ogun state government provided for it's citizens in the villages and remote areas. The question we should ask is what is provided in that box? Are there competent government workers to handle each situations? The government has done its own, tell those civil servants to brace up. That civil or public servant that I am talking about is you, a brother or sister, a husband or wife, our fathers and mothers that do government job. Tell them civil service is God's work, it must be done with all your heart. Tell them not to steal money. Tell them not to teach political office holders how to steal money. No political office holder can steal money without the knowledge and backing of top permanent secretaries, directors, paymasters.
