RenegadeX: You have a point I'm less than 2 months to becoming a 500L medical student, I'm 23 years i tell you, my mindset has changed unlike 2017/2018 I was looking for admission i saw this profession as something I would do for a life time the only thing not stopping me from quitting at this point is because I don't have a previous degree, all I need now is this certificate I don't think I would even practice tbvh, ps it is not only me,also some of my class mates too 2 Likes |

Froshchuksswart: God bless you my brother for saying the truth and being objective and unbiased , may God see you through completion of the degree. The funny thing is that the “rugged tout” and “Clint d drunk” attacking me previously did not render any tangible advice to the young man. They just wanted to pounce on me because they felt I attacked their beloved profession 3 Likes |

@RenegadeX and all. NB: I'm making this post for the sake of future readers that may come across your argument on the previous pages. We must all realize that people differ. There are good doctors and there are bad doctors, there are good engineers/lawyers/chefs and there are bad engineers/lawyers/chefs. We shouldn't generalize our judgements based on personal encounters with people, this is certainly not objective. Also, anyone can get tired/disinterested in their professions. This is one of the reasons we have DE and PGD programs. These programs make it possible to cross to other professions in one's pursuit for happiness. While this is true, there are many others that remain in love with their professions until they retire. I have some friends that are medical doctors but aren't currently practicing. I have a friend who's a mechanical engineer but now produces furniture. The examples are endless. For every dissatisfied medical student you find, there are many other students that are happy and proud about their soon-to-be profession. In a class of 50, it's unlikely that those who won't practice will be up to a quarter. MBBS is going to be my third degree. I currently have bachelor's and master's degrees in Human Physiology. I've spent quite a number of years in school to get to where I am today. I don't count these years as loses. I do not regret any of them. I'm very excited about becoming a doctor, and I know I'm going to enjoy the practice. There are many people like me out there. My point is, the observations lots of people make about medicine are not peculiar to medicine. They can be found in other fields of endeavour. Anyone that wants to study medicine should go ahead and do so. If he or she finds happiness and fulfillment in it, great! If not, still great! Hopefully, anyone that desires something else outside MBBS will find same early enough. 30 Likes 4 Shares |
