Abians as stakeholders in this renewal have to see the process through. They have successfully broken the vicious cycle of misgovernance by ejecting the government in power for all of the 5th Republic. But elections is not the end of the matter, just the beginning of the second part, the part of advocacy. Holding the new government by the balls figuratively and compelling them on a day by day basis to govern in the interest of the people. In democracy there are no pleasant relationships. It is hardwork by government and a hard battle by the people. There will be blood, sweat and tears to get the State going. Warn your new government. That the broom stick that chased the first wife away remains at hand. Government must fear and respect the people to succeed ultimately. |
