No need of speaking long grammar. I have another formular albeit more straight forward.

(A) To gain admission to UNIZIK, a candidate must score at least C in 6 subjects including Mathematics and English. Even if you scored As in 9 subjects but had Fs in English and Maths, you have failed automatically.

The Admissions board by this demand confers special status on Mathematics and English even though they are still "subjects" like others.

By implication, same situation applies to the 25% requirement in my opinion.

The Constitution by that section granted Special Status to Abuja as the Federal Capital Territory even though it may still be interpreted as a State.

As long as Tinubu did not score 25% in Abuja, he is an illegal President Elect based on the constitution. Reason most world leaders are not congratulating him.

This is also why Datti Ahmed said that swearing in Tinubu will be an assault on Nigeria's Democracy because doing so would be unconstitutional.

But what do I know? Nigeria has always been a huge crime scene where the highest criminals gets their way. Know this and know peace.

N.B
One question to those quoting me. Lets not also Forget that The So called President elect forfeited 460,000 dollars in money related to drug crimes. Do you honestly believe that if he didnt know he will be convicted, he will forfeit thay money? undecided undecided

The Tinubu I know as a Sly Fox is well aware that the US authorities have damning evidence against him and pursuing "Not Guilty" will nail him to the Cross of Chicago. Reason he forfeited. Make no mistakes about this.
the fct has no special status when it comes to elections.votes from fct are as important as votes from the most remote part of Nigeria.on what basis shud fct be special if Iau ask u?is it more cosmopolitan than Lagos,Oyo and others?the answer is no.sobthe true interpretation in my opinion is that 25% from 2/3 of all states with or without the fct.it doesn't make sense that the constitution shud compel a candidate to score 25% in fct willy nilly.so what happens to overwhelming majority from other states,?

My solution:

Let's designate States as X and Territory as Y.

There are 36 X and 1 Y. Thus two-thirds of X is 24 and two-thirds of Y is 2/3Y.

Thus 25% will be 25% of (24X + 2/3Y)

But X = 100 and Y = 120. Therefore the answer becomes:
25% of [24 × 100 + 2/3 × 120]
= 0.25 [2400 + 80]
= 0.25 [2480]
= 620

However, the another school of thought believe the answer will be 630. And their solution would be thus:
Two thirds only applies to the States and not the Territory. Thus the answer becomes:
25% of [24 × 100 + 120]
= 0.25 [2400 + 120]
= 0.25 [2520]
= 630

Another school of thought believe the answer will be 625. And this is the answer Tinubu supporters will go with. Their solution is thus:

There are two possible scenarios: one where the Territory is part of the two-thirds OR one who it isn't.
First scenario: 25% of [24 × 100 + 120]
= 0.25 [2400 + 120]
= 0.25 [2520]
= 630

Second scenario: 25% of [25 × 100]
= 0.25 [2500]
= 625

Thus we have two possible answers but the least of them is 625. So the answer is 625.
oga,as long as elections are concerned, there are no special votes.all votes re equal.

1. A recruiting firm advertised for a job and people from 36 States and a Territory applied. The recruiting firm was tasked to recruit at least 25% of people from at least two thirds of the States and the Territory. If there are 100 people in each of the States and 120 people from the Territory, what's the minimum number of people the firm should at least employ?

A. 600
B. 620
C. 625
D. 630
E. None of the Above

2. In addition to the requirements above, the recruiting firm was told the Territory is also to be considered as a State. Thus the requirement reads thus: recruit at least 25% of people from at least two thirds of the States and the Territory. And the Territory is to be considered a State. What's the minimum number of people the firm should at least employ?

A. 600
B. 620

Such illegality will never happen in Nigeria. Asiwaju Tinubu is president-elect whether you like it or not.

The answer is very simple:

Let the States be S and the Territory be t.

Thus the requirement is: A quarter of two thirds of S AND a quarter of t

You have 36 States (from at least 24 of which appliers are chosen) as well as 1 territory where to recruit its quarter from. Here, the firm recruits 25 appliers from each of the 24 States, AND 30 appliers from the territory, which is a total of 630
appliers.

The formula here is [(23×36)×(14×100)]+(14×120)=[(24×25)]+30

=630 appliers. QED

The second question doesn't change my answer. This is because even if the Territory is considered a State. The AND in the requirement has it compulsory that 25% must be recruited from that "State".

100 people in 36 states equals 3,600 people. While
120 people in FCT equals 120 people.

2/3 of 3600 = 2,400 people
2/3 od 120 = 80 people

25% minimum recruitment

25% of 2400 = 600 people
25% of 80 = 20 people

Since the firm was tasked to recruit 25% from the 36 states and The FCT...

Will now be 600 + 20 =620

So 620 people will be recruited from the 36 states and the fct.

So the answer is
1 - B

Is still 620.
2 - B
No one askee for 2/3rd of the fct. You're wrong.

Second scenario: 25% of [25 × 100]

= 625

Thus we have two possible answers but the least of them is 625. So the answer is 625.

Let each state be x
Let 36states = S
Therefore S =36x
Let fct =t
Section 299 of the constitution says that the FCT will be treated asif it is one of the states of the federation.. Remember the mathematics rule says And is summation.
if FCT is considered as state for the purpose of recruitment then let each state be x. Therefore 36x = S.. According to the clause of the constitution that fct be considered a state then t= x (that clause is important you cannot overlook it)
Therefore S and t = 36x+x = 37x
S=36x = 36*100 and t=x 120
then S+t 36x +x = 37x = 3600+120 = 3720
Formula becomes 25% of 2/3of 37x
2/3×3720 = 2480
25/100 × 2480= 620

Answer = 620 people QED

The working of the mathematics is as follow since we have 36 States and each States have 100 people that means 36 * 100 equals to 36100 then 120 which is for the territory total number will give you 36100 + 120 equals to 36220 divide this number into four to get the 25% needed this will give you 36220 / 4 equals to 9055

Is Tinubu convicted or fingerprinted for the drug dealing case in the US as Benjamin Uba, one of Peter Obi's allies in 1993, was? Tinubu was just a victim of circumstances and that was the reason USA did not jail him. There is no amount of money that can replace a sentence in the USA. I don't know if you have seen or heard of anyone freed after relinquishing property before. As far as I know, anyone found guilty of a drug dealing offense in the USA will be jailed and still have their property seized. Tinubu has never been convicted nor fingerprinted for the crime. If you can get 25% from other states, it is not mandatory to have 25% in FCT; you only need 25% in 25 states.

I believe u brought this cos of the confused interpretation by some on what the electoral law stipulates. From what u posted, it is obvious the territory is not a state, if it were a state u would have have correctly said 37 states... Why do we allow simple English to get us confused?
For example, let's use a class of 9 boys and 1 girl. I may say for u to emerge the class-rep, two-thirds of the 9 boys and the girl must be willing to give u half portions of their daily meal. Now this does not mean that for anyone to emerge, they must get two-third of half the daily meals of the 9 boys and half the daily meal of the only girl. A girl is not a boy, so u don't expect me to say 10 boys, that is where the AND comes in. The right interpretation be same as if I assume the only girl is a boy and say two-third of 10 boys or two-thirds of the 10 students. In the case of our country, "AND" there shouldn't confuse anyone, it is only so cos FCT is not a state and that is the only way of accommodating the entity (FCT) into the grammatical expression.
Its amazing how simple this is yet even SANS amd the likes of Adichie like to make it seem complicated.
Re: 25% Requirement: Solve This Mathematics Word Problem by ProsperChild: 11:05pm On Apr 19, 2023
1. To meet the requirement, the firm needs to recruit at least 25% of people from 24 states (out of 36) and the Territory. 25% of 100 is 25, so the firm needs to recruit at least 25 people from each of those states and 25% of 120 is 30, so the firm needs to recruit at least 30 people from the Territory.

24 states and the Territory make a total of 25 states. Therefore, the firm needs to recruit at least 25 × 24 + 30 = 630 people.

Therefore, the answer is D) 630.

2. Since the Territory is now considered a State, the firm needs to recruit at least 25% of people from 25 states (out of 37). 25% of 100 is 25, so the firm needs to recruit at least 25 people from each of those states and 25% of 120 is 30, so the firm needs to recruit at least 30 people from the Territory.

25 states make a total of 25 × 100 = 2500 people and the Territory adds 120 people. Thus, the minimum number of people the firm should at least employ is 2500 + 120 = 2620.

Therefore, the answer is still E) None of the Above, and the correct answer is 2620.

If you say so, why would and why was FCT given a special mention with "AND"

If FCT is to be seen as a 37th state, why was it that the requirement didn't say 25% of the ⅔ of all the states, with FCT INCLUSIVE.

Better still, it can also be rephrased thus...with FCT CONSIDERED AS A STATE

If Abuja has a special status, why add the votes to the total votes ? If you are looking at 25% in Abuja then the votes that comes out of Abuja should stand alone like the purported 25% that some people think that should d stand on it own..
The moment you count the votes that comes from Abuja and add it with the rest of votes from other states , then the 25%from Abuja will also be added with other states, it cant stand alone.
