Yes, Enugu and Imo are quite enough
to meet the strategic demand of the SE,
since the are basically at extreme ends of
the SE area.

Ebonyi, Abia & Anambra are just for
bragging rights and can't be viable side
by side with Enugu and Imo.

If not Christmas, how many Igbo dey
go home sef, and amongst the everyday
people of the Igbo, how many can afford the
tickets❓❓😐

Stop deceiving yourself. Anambra and imo have the highest population in igboland. It shows where more people prefer to live. Most igbo rich men live in Abuja and Lagos, they may have second home anywhere in SE. There are GRAs everywhere in Awka, Onitsha, Owerri, even Aba. Even some rural areas in Anambra are better than the locations you listed.

Check the list of states with most poor people, enugu state is top on that list, which shows that there are thrice more poor people living in enugu state than Anambra or imo.

Oga rest, Anambra is by far better than enugu state when all ramifications of developments are considered. Enugu township doesn't even have common portable drinking water but you wanna talk about development

now i see ur problem.

You should assign Obi's evaluation to people who saw Anambra before Obi took over down to his expiration as a governor.

The year you listed above as a student at Awka didn't qualify you to talk about Obi's performance because you didn't see Anambra before Obi took over down to when he handed over to Obiano, thank you.
I’m sorry but you seem like one of those people I was talking about. Don’t make an excuse for him with his past. Just tell me you believe in his promises and I will try to listen. I said I was in UNIZIK from 2006-2011(I wrote 2016-2011) but you know what I meant.
Obi was sworn in as Governor of Anambra State in 2006. I was there in Awka. So if Anambra was in a deplorable state prior to Obi’s swearing, I saw it.
Friend, I’m not trying to pick a quarrel with you. I’m from Delta State and not in support of Tinubu or giving failure a 3rd chance, but I need us to be wise in the next election because this obedient movement ruined this one.

This is an exceedingly foolish comment made out of nothing but bigotry foolishness n stupidity. Anambra as always had great governor from 1999 so where did Peter Obi pick Anambra up from to be exact ?

Was Anambra not among the top 3 best performing WAEC ranking school since 1999, if you disagree pls provide any prove to that effect. If you are able to I owe your 50K cash.

The only problem bedeviling Anambra was armed robbery n kidnapping which even Peter Obi was unable to resolve until Obiano came around n completely end kidnapping.

Father0fjesus:
considering where Anambra was when Peter Obi took over and where Anambra is today and the revenue of the state , I think Anambra has done better than any other state "within that time frame".
I am qu0ting "within that time frame" because I know a lot of people are dumb on nairaland and hardly understand concepts, please don't be one of them

Ignorant mind South-east always have busy activities in their airports unlike Ibadan and Akure, so for your little mind na Christmas time the airports witness the high traffic

Peter Obi left nothing but debt for Obiano you Obidafties should stop lying shamelessly

Bestmanfornow:

Most of them are just ignorance, let compare the revenue allocation and debt, if Obi had place Anambra in serious debt and didn't save money for the state it would have been difficult for Obiano to build those massive projects without borrowing, Obi built many projects without borrowing, still clear all backlogs salaries, pensions, gratuities wasn't owing anybody before his tenure ended.

In the last 3 years, i have traveled home over 8 times, i always use Imo airport and i most times drive from Sam Mbakwe airport to Aba, it's not 1 hour ok.
owerri airport to Aba or 47km, you want to use 2hrs to ply 47km?
And the road is not even bad. There'd no traffic until you get osisioma (sometimes)

I'm not a spirit to know that you intended to write 2006-2011 ok, what i saw was what i used as a reference.

During Ilochi Okafor's era as the VC, PO visited Unizik twice or more. Ngige gave the people a glimpse of hope but PO did better, do you remember when he was impeached and Virgy Etiaba (his deputy) took over, what happened?

From Amawbia to Ekeoka market down to Temp Site junction was a death trap, Nigerian Prison axis within Amawbia was something else but everything changed for better.

I personally don't follow politicians but PO did well in Anambra in terms of road, school etc. Going to Asaba onward to Ugheli, Warri, Sapele etc you must go through head bridge; i know head bridge before he took over and when he left.

No politician is perfect but some are good when it comes to service delivery, thank you.

Ebonyi State is one state with sooooo little and their governor keeps delivering mind-blowing infrastructural projects. Give Dave Umahi the kind of money Lagos or Rivers has, he will turn his state to Dubai.

In fact, other state governors in Nigeria should be taking lectures from him about how he achieved all this with so little.

Someone should create a thread of what Dave Umahi did in 8 years so as to blow people's minds here. When it comes to infrastructure, that man is only in competition with himself.
This why I wish he success Buhari, Nigeria will change but APC refuse to give ticket

Leadership at the national level transcends building infrastructure. What Peter Obi is proposing is a total overhaul of the Nigerian state (instilling sanity and the rule of law) and expanding our economic frontiers (we call it diversification here).

There's so little the states can do in those areas. We need those more than anything else.

By the way, I noticed that you don't like Peter Obi, so you are likely going to attack him in your rejoinder to this comment. Sorry, bros, I won't react to it.

Akwa ibom needs an airport. Akwa ibom is an oil producing state with many oil investments hence there is a market to patronize this airport. There are no market in Ebonyi and Ekiti.
And 2, the proximity of Major towns and cities in akwa ibom to other airports is not near. Port harcourt Airport to uyo is about 2-3 hours journey, Calabsr Airport to uyo is about 2-3 hours hence the airport to ikot epene and Oron, it's about 3-4 hours. So, Akwa Ibom needs an airport

To even think there's an airport is Akure makes the whole idea questionable.

During his 1 year anniversary he made it clear to everybody on live television that the state House of Assembly signed for him to borrow since September last year that he is yet to borrow 1 kobo that, he is managing the IGR and revenue allocation, he also staid that he is targeting 5 billion naira IGR monthly for the state.

Do you have facts more than. Obiano who told us obi left debts? Soludo also confirmed... And u want me to take yours as who na?

Let me tutor you. When Obiano was launching the airport , Gov Ishaku of Taraba state asked him were he got the money he used in building the airport in this period of cash crunch, he told him that it is money Obi saved. Use google on your phone please . The same Obiano that was partying with Anambra money? Someone EFCC picked up after his tenure. Why didn’t EFCC go for Obi? Please which debts did Obi left.
