He's a selfish husband. Two househelp no go do me sef because I won't have strength for any other thing aside breastfeeding my baby. He's a selfish and wicked husband

Two househelp no go do you because your hand cut. Go to the slums and see teenage girls heavily pregnant carrying big plastic basin to fetch water more than 15 times over a 300m distance and you are talking. And that duty doesn’t change even after immediate delivery. Dey play

Your own is to be eating and getting fat and claiming to breastfeed. If i plank you with 2 by 2 undecided

It is sad that there are men who don't realize that taking of a baby in itself is a full time job.

It is best you bring this matter up with your parents and in-laws. Let them be the ones to talk sense to your husband.

I would also suggested if you could, abandon the kids with your husband for a full day and let him see what you face. Hin eye go clear.

That's what you all say due to the slavery and poor work condition a typical househelp in Nigeria is put through. The same Nigerians with multiple support staff move abroad and are unable to hire even a single househelp

Since you have no idea of how hard it is to nurse a baby you won't ever understand the stress involved and ontop that he'll still not let you sleep at night. All these things are stressful, and an extra hand would be needed to help in the domestic chores. What joy would you derive seeing your wife looking so tired and pale everyday?

call his mother and elder ones. I know you love him but he's unreasonable and wicked. If he's bothered about the expenses in this APC economy then you guys should look for an alternative but you really need help
How are you sure she is relating well with the husband family members? Most of these women are married in the city and they hardly travel to the husband village.
If she has been relating well with her mother inlaw, that problem would have since be solved.

That's why you need more househelp so as not to overwork any of them, they have their own life to live as well.

This is why I dont like commenting on women marriage issues because they are usually one sided. Madam you're the problem. If he is agreeing to a non live in maid, then you get the non live in maid to do some of the work for you in the day while you try and rest as much as you can and do the rest of the work when the maid is gone.

However, it seems like you just want someone at your beck and call to send on errands and do all the work for you like the madam of the house while you do nothing angry angry angry angry just like some of your friends have.

Stressful as it is, considering the age of your kids, I will advice you to only get HG as the last option.
Apart from the spiritual part of which there had been cases of witchcraft and other diabolical issues, you hear of wickedness done to kids, also abuse.
Finally, when a man insist his wife should not get HG, he might have personal issues. See, believe it or not, there is this fstish for hgs out there. Go search mj and you see the most popular are tales of maids. Baba might be indirectly warning you not to tempt him.
If you insist sha, make sure you test the maid for hiv, vd, tuberculosis etc.
Finally while doing that, administer depo PROVERA. Atleast, that should give you you small peace of mind.
If you know you know.

Hello Nairalanders, there is an issue at hand.
I have two kids and recently gave birth to the third few months ago. It's been really difficult for me since I practically do most of the house chores... my husband is hardly around because of work.

I came down with this strange disturbing headache that doesnt go away. So I went to see a doctor and she said the headache was as a result of postpartum stress and lack of sleep.

The truth is I'm awake most of the time because of the baby or when I'm attending to other household matter. I haven't had a good sleep in a long while. So when the doctor suggested I get a house help so I can find time and sleep when shes holding the baby. I knew she she was on point. But the problem is my husband, he wouldn't hear of it, he doesn't want us to get any househelp...

I even pleaded with him and made him see reasons why I needed help, but he refused... I'm beginning to think I ended up with the wrong person because I dont understand why anyone would deliberately want to subject their wife to this kind of torture.

My kids are age 5, 2 and 3 months... I go to the market, cook, clean, i even do school run too...He's a contractor and will be travelling back to work next week.. yet he doesn't want me to get help...

Request for mum to come over, only him have his reasons why he doesn't want a house help

The Nigerian wife is easily replaceable with their house helps because Nigerian men marry house helps disguised as wives. I've been preaching this message to Nigerian women for awhile now.

Hope this headache is not from bending down to do chores. Have you being tilting your head down while you work? Even at 3 months after giving birth, you have to be very careful about it.

The man is selfish and toxic, even on doctors advise he's still adamant. I didn't remember insulting him . I only used the right words for my statement.

The way you guys abuse this word 'toxic' ehn.

Before considering a househelp, close family members from either side can be considered.

And like someone said, a help that comes and goes daily can be employed.
