I got a lecturing job in a federal University from job posting in Nairaland in 2018. I was convinced to apply through a positive comment from a Nairalander. I thank him and all the good people in Nairalander. You guys are awesome smiley despite our differences.

Nairaland used to be a cool place to catch fun and learn new things till it became really toxic with bullies, and small children with tribal bigotry flowing in their veins.
Now I'm stuck with YouTube when I'm free.

Nairaland taught me all I know today about making money online.
Nairaland gave me the opportunity of meeting new people and earning in dollars.
I try my best to introduce this platform to those I'm older than and I'm surprised majority do not know about NL.
Anyways, long live Nairaland.

I'll say that Nairaland made me a better writer. To write here almost every week, for the last nine years, is a sure way to sharpen your usage of words, usage of analogies, and nuances.

Also reading almost every week helps in listening and writing better, since everyone has their own idiolects, reading from everyone makes you know how to write complex and laser-sharp stuff.

Seconded sir...

Reading your piece has definitely upped my lexicon. wink

Nairaland has helped me spend less time on other data consuming sites honestly, like insta, TikTok, Fb and the like. Apart from checking updates on watsap and watching videos on YouTube and stuff.. when I'm free or bored, I just run down here, excited to see what new thing I am going to read about. I've learnt a lot here too in so many ways.
Though I don't comment a lot, I enjoy reading people's comments here, it gives me an insight into how different people reason without having to actually interact with a lot of people. As a student too, it has saved me money cos I don't need data to come here and still have a great time. In short, I so so love here regardless of the annoying banter though. I feel like I'm part of one big, invisible, online family smiley..
PS I recognize almost all the popular monikers and their attitudes and have put a face in my head for each of them already. Lol
