After all the suspense na 50 Kobo

2022 PAT looks low compared to prior year as there was no major recoveries from prior impairments in 2022.
The 2021 PAT was boosted by Atlantic Energy Ltd loan recoveries, which was previously written off.

As a newbie, I have a very small trading portfolio. I have sold a few stocks and added a few. As you can see, I am a very small player, so you should not take anything I say too seriously.

Not a bad portfolio for someone who started investing in the stock market about 3 years ago.

The portfolio should be able to give you an annual dividend of about N1 million or thereabout

Are you referring to dividends and trading profits

Your average cost of less than N17 for Zenith Bank is also good.

That will give a yield on cost of about 18%

The market closed flat today

On oil priced in $s, I think prices will remain flat or trend up in $s as long as there are no new step changes in alternatives for powering automobiles. Like the Sodium battery being developed by a Chinese firm succeeding in upstaging Lithium batteries with far cheaper prices coupled with other source of power breakthroughs outside fossil fuels.

Sodium shares some similarities with its brother Lithium in the period table. And is More abundant but currently delivers lower power rates, but the Chinese firm is researching aggressively and has reached a stage that its $10 EV cars have already started selling. And it's still not relenting in research.

Are FPIs currently in our market? My own answer is no it's MM that are doing the magic up and down. They defended FBN that was supposed to close negative or flat. Same I think they are doing in access. Of course this is time for one to buy more, as it goes down u buy more then get loan to buy more as it goes down

FPI's and LPI's paused as I speculated. Till clarity on FX rates, NLC fuel strike threat and other stuff.

There is no finance Minister to give clear cut fiscal directions, not just this general rhetoric going on. I felt this is one position interim presido had covered and knows the candidate. Clearly, he is still consulting. You don't make such bold statements on inauguration day and not literally hit the ground running.

If there's no minster by next week...

Even the rage
Was also unveiled

That which was unveiled
Shall come to pass

Yet, after the dark tunnel
A stronger ray of light will blossom

In a little while, weak hands might exit the market and channel funds to life saving ventures as prices of goods and services skyrockets.
With no loose cash, only the strong might remain.

From time, I don't think JAPAUL has been involved directly in oil business but renders services to oil coys or so.
The dredging biz has been the major source of income together with offshore services.
Needs to update myself on its operations again. smiley
Will try and check.....you too can check.
Lol. Make Una no mind me o. smiley
I was able to get 4.5m units of Japaul at 34k last week and intends getting 6m additional units, only if it comes low to 34k again. The attached extract from Japaul financial statement is the reason I intend to buy and hold.

AbdulWasiu O. Sowami is not new, he has always been the Chairman of Ardova Oil & Gas Plc. He owns Ignite Investment & Commodities Limited through which he acquired Forte Oil from Ote$.

OBAGADAFFI:

Not sure to the Outcome yet.

But AbdulWasiu O. Sowami is the new Chairman

Am also interested to know the outcome. Because even before Subsidy remover sef and the Court Ordered Meeting, Minority Shareholders rejected the amount Ardova is offering to buy them out. They are saying they won't take nothing less than N66 per unit share, same amount Ardova Plc paid per share to acquire Forte Oil. Some of Mini-Shareholders are writing protest Letter to Security & Exchange Commission (SEC).

Hopefully it comes down to 34k too.
@Loco, don't be in haste to sell your remaining JAPAUL, I won't show any pity this time around o. grin
I'm currently checking for more info too.....
Like I said earlier, JAPAUL is not directly into Oil & Gas but it renders offshore services to Oil & Gas; is into dredging and also mining of mineral resources.

Oil & Gas service companies also benefit from oil & gas sector's boom in terms of increased activities and revenue.
Q2 result should throw more light on this.
Dredging is already fetching them money.
*More checks to be done.

**Caveat: This post is strictly for Japaulians. tongue

The reason why I sold the 5m units yesterday is not because of the company but because this subsidy removal might cause the generational low oracle is inciting.I have 13,857,000 units of Japaul left.
For Japaul to show strength at the last hours of trading yesterday means something is cooking.Might be the impact of subsidy removal lurking on the stock.
