so btw tinubu and Jonathan who u go trust with ur life? Btw okonjo Iweala and tinubu who u go trust with ur family finance and inheritance?

Dude, all these talks ain't necessary. Simply tell Tinubu to take us back to the days of GEJ when fuel was sold for 97 naira and things were cheap. See how you're defending Tinubu with his thoughtless decision.

At times I wonder if na super glue just dey una Brain

Tinubu have not even done anything yet, tinubu have not make any economic policy yet, Tinubu inherited subsidy removal so its tew early to criticise Tinubu.
Until tinubu start making his own policies & decision before you can crucify him, we know these is very personal for obedient they will look for every excuse to curse tinubu ... but the man said no one should pity him

I remembered when in 2012 they held a massive walk to occupy Nigeria. When Goodluck meant well. Even Daddy G.O. Adeboye was among. Tunde Bakare, Soyinka, Asiwaju, Buhari and co were all there just to frustrate GEJ.
Now they want to do same removal of subsidy with same reason GEJ gave in 2012 grin grin it has come back to hunt them.
What goes around comes around.
NLC will go on strike come June 7.

Bakare spent 100 million and got zero vote
Sowore that use his sahara reporters was disgraced and nowhere
Atiku that decamped to APC was beaten thrice

The part in bold is wrong. Very wrong. Government is not paying subsidy because we import petrol. Government pay subsidy because Nigerians don’t want to buy petrol at market determined price. We want to buy petrol at a price regulated below the cost of production and profit margin of petrol importers and refiners. Let’s understand this and not confuse each other, please.

He said apologize.
It is something you do when you realize that you’re wrong.

Nothing less than N400 with current market conditions. However, market conditions may push the price upwards or downwards anytime. The point of removing subsidy is not to fix price but to allow market conditions dictate the price.
Sir I almost completely agreed with you then I remember that the immediate past government removed(or at least reduced the amount paid as subsidy) and promised to channel the saved money into other sectors of the economy- since then however I can’t point at any project the government started/completed with said savings. So when this government successfully removes subsidy this time what happens to the money? Whose pocket(s) will it end up this time… At the end of the day it’s still me and you that will have to buy fuel at a higher rate, buy gas at an exorbitant rate, buy rice at an increased rate, buy every other household commodities at a higher rate and still pay taxes, pay for security(vigilante every month) pay electricity bill and I’m almost certain next rent will be higher than previous one…Yet salaries will remain what it was before the new pump prices, aren’t you tired? I know must of us are so used to being mistreated by those in elected position, we’ve all grown a thick skin but does that make it right my man?

I’m not entirely against removing subsidy what I want to make very very abundantly clear is that those millions of dollars they tell you will be saved from removing subsidy will end up in someone/some peoples account why you and every other citizen suffers the after effect

So you now trust them today.

Fuel was to sell for #195 without subsidy.... Today without subsidy it is selling for #550-#600.

Upon all the wastefulness and borrowing experienced in Buhari's administration.
The same Tinubu who championed this devilish course has been foisted on us.

Removal of subsidy is good. But what Nigerians are asking, is it not this same Tinubu and Buhari that held a massive walk to occupy Nigeria in 2012 when GEJ brought same policy ??

Even if we stop importing fuel, if we get fuel cheap right now, it's subsidised. The question should rather be "what can we do to strengthen Naira?"

As for rice, we will have high cost of rice until everywhere is saturated with locally produced rice and the production cost is reduced more than it is. Do you know the price of rice in the international market?

On another note, Nigeria is a difficult place. If we have these things so cheap, they will become so scarce because those in the system will rather take them to countries that will fetch them more.

God will help us, Na small small. We don't have the time luxury though but we must still be patient.

Magnetic010:
Nigerians didn’t ask the right questions then and we sure aren’t asking the right questions now…
Why do we have subsidy in the first place?
Because me import fuel right
So why do we import fuel?
Because our refineries aren’t working?
So why aren’t our refineries working?

If we fixed all our refineries would we still need to import fuel?

So why haven’t we channeled resources over the years to fix the refineries?

We stopped importation of rice because “we want to grow our economy and consume locally grown rice right?

So why did the price of locally grown rice shoot up?

These and many more are questions we should be asking the government. These are things we should demand answers to otherwise we’ll just keep hearing different nonsense every new day

Thats the point I’m trying to get across to these people. If the government had done the right thing we have no business subsidizing fuel or paying over 300 per liter of fuel. But they just want to defend nonsense

Oh he’s a northerner and therefore doesn’t deserve to be mentioned for apology. He is mentioning Peter Obi dt wasn’t even a public face nor had any talk against subsidy removal in 2012. Lol!

Locally made rice or locally re-bagged rice. How many rice farm/mill are operating in the country? How many tons of rice are they producing?

Government only supposedly placed embargo on importation of rice because it wanted only certain people to monopolize the market- they import re-bag, slap any name on it and claim it’s locally produced rice then go off and sell at exorbitant rate…have you asked yourself why locally produced rice is even more costly now foreign rice during Jonathan’s regime?

Yes of course. Oh u didn’t know? Kyari explained this on TV all week. Only difference will be the freight shipping cost dt would be removed. And dt difference is not so significant to make a major difference.

They asked him so what’s the benefit of refinery in Nigeria, he explained that availability of stock is guaranteed, as sometimes scarcity occurs due to circumstances beyond their control. Also companies don’t need to secure forex, demand for forex would be less than half which would improve the economy.
