Gbadebo is just an aberration in a name.
He is a typical chest beater. A bastard son of Lagos who can never ruled Lagos.
He is so daft that he thinks he is still relevant following the religious card of the then pre election Era.
You lost, your boss Obi-diot lost and Lule.
Go back to Anambra and review the anti-indigene laws there.
Go back to Abia and impose the free law that will give equal right to Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba.
Non-entity, Anti progressive son of Ibo, forming Yorubas to deceive his Ancestors from the Sad east.

So, let us also start with the word ‘SHARIA’ in the constitution. Where does the word exist in our constitution? Or where are the tenets of Sharia permitted in the constitution? Are there states operating SHARIA? ? Yes!
However, does the constitution permit states to make laws within its scope ? YES! Is the Lagos HoA doing so? YES!
We keep deceiving ourselves that we operate a UNITARY and not a FEDERAL constitution. AFEDERATION presupposes different and varied components with slightly varied laws within an overseeing GRUND NORM. It never presumes a rigid uniform law governing the federating units with divergent predispositions.
eldoradoxx:

Let's begin by introducing the word 'indigene' in our constitution. Our constitution does not know anything called indigene, it recognizes only citizenship. You are an indigene of Lagos once you are a Nigerian from anywhere who lives in Lagos. The proposed law is dead on arrival, take that to the banks. You cannot be shouting One Nigeria but not willing to abide by what one Nigeria means according to your constitution. And Lagos should be careful, other cities that were greater than Lagos from history of human development on earth collapsed due to internal conflagration. I see that once the seaports under construction in Akwa Ibom and recently Imo State are completed, Lagos will witness significant drop in human population so that the owners of Lagos can now enjoy Lagos.

Hope the law will protect big Yoruba churches so that non-Yorubas will no longer attend.

I hope the law will also prevent non-Yorubas from marrying Yorubas and vice versa.

I hope the law will also make sure that Yorubas will attends only Yorubas owned shools and hospitala vice versa.

I hope the lwas will also make sure that all the oil companies head offices relocate back to Nigwrdelta, their operation base.

The lwas should be all encompassing.

Obasa and Indeed those proposing a special law for a class of people in Lagos or in any state for that matter are just TOO IGNORANT of the laws of this country. The constitution has already invalidated any law or policy that discriminates against any person on the basis of ethnicity, religion, gender or whatever.
So let Lagos Assembly make that law and let's rush to Court and have it struck down for violating the provisions of the constitution. You cannot make any law that seeks to favour any particular segment of same state or favour one group over another on the basis of religion, gender, tribe or whatever. Every law must be applicable to everyone who lives in your state equally, because in a constitutional democracy, we are all equal before the law. There is no indigeneship in our constitution and the idea of indegenship is illegal, the constitution recognizes just one thing; citizenship of Nigeria. Once you are a citizen of Nigeria, you are indigene of any state where you live. Those who are shouting One Nigeria up and down should be educated on the implication of being One Nigeria. It means the man who was born and raised in Sokoto, Borno, Enugu or Abakaliki is an indigene of Lagos as long as he lives in Lagos. He has equal rights with the Oba of Lagos and will be protected by the constitution against any form of discrimination on the basis of his religion or tribe.

Just dey play..
Regionalism is staring you right in the face.

This is the Begining of fire and division of Lagos and Nigeria. Nn! Genetic tribalism is at it again. Not surprise. Yorubas has not contributed anything to Lagos development. All the heavy tax and cash flows is from outsiders the non ingdegens. Yorubas are not enterpreneurs and will never be.

This sorta things is some how childish, i mean like when you tryna play with his/her toy and he/she started vibrating and crying saying you wanna take his toy from him grin

After many tribes that come from their respectful states has made lagos what it has became. some people want to start some sorta useless Tribalism, seriously this is highly stupid and foolish if you ask me

But what did i know

And these people are saying STOP building Lagos for them, go and build una region, all the money IGBOS alone have go and spend it on development of East and make it DuBia.

What you think is highly irrelevant, even in developed countries, US, Canada & co. the indigenes enjoy certain protections & laws

IF lagos make any funny law, Enugu tew should make laws to protect there indigenes from yorubas & hausas dragging igbo land with them. its that simple

This guy has totally buried his political career. What is wrong in legislating a law that will protect the indigenes of an area? Truly, this guy is an agent of a hidden agenda being orchestrated by some unscrupulous elements.
Almost every state in the South did something similar against Fulani's ruga. Some northern states did something similar (shariah law) to protect their religion. Why all this hullabaloo when it comes to Lagos State?

That is not the way to go? Who re the Lagos indegene why so much fuse about Lagos as if it is d only state in Nigeria as long as I am concern ABASA is not a lagosian and he has not right to do that let him go back to his legitimate state and do that

Truth of d Mata is d real lagosian re not even complaining re not even d one saying all these rubbish, are not even d one playing dis tribal card but those who came from other state to claim dey re lagosians enacting a useless law and making useless noise

We have so may issues to be solved why his he bringing up this useless law? will that even solve the problem ?why re d non-lagosian feeling their lives us being threatened and d real lagosians re not feeling that way.

Nigeria belongs to everyone, and every Nigerian has the right to stay anywhere we complain about racism but we play tribalism home here which is much worst than that

That rubbish must be put to an end

He is playing. When he was switching names from Chinedu to Gbadebo, yet can not speak a single correct complete sentence in Yoruba, insults Yoruba, Yoruba Leaders and Yoruba land on the social media, he did not know the Yoruba see his game. Smh.

He has lost the moral ground and it is in order to conclude that Chinedu Rhodes-Vivour is not Yoruba. It is unfortunate that characters like him misrepresented the silent minority of Igbo who remain patriotic and do not like the way Igbo like him are riling up their Yoruba hosts.

Here is a soft reminder to him that the law of reciprocity is a legitimate demand to stop the politics of hate, lies and bigotry every four four years.

Benefits of Law of Reciprocity
https://www.nairaland.com/7612989/lagos-guber-plight-igbo-law

The benefits are too numerous and sustainable.

Jobs will be more abundant to the Yoruba natives at home and away from home.

This reciprocity policy will help provide jobs and social benefits to all Yoruba in other states especially if this policy of reciprocity is adopted by all the southwest states.

It will equally help draw mostly talents and less of lazy or criminal elements to the Southwest from the South East which in turn will help improve the economy of Yoruba states and Yoruba living outside SW, especially in Igboland.

The Yoruba need the jobs here at home too and those resident in Igboland should benefit from jobs in Igboland so that the same privileges the Igbo benefit here in Yorubaland their govts are giving with reciprocity to the Yoruba.

Our economy in SW will grow in leaps and bounds with the policy reciprocity.

The State Executive councils and state Houses of Assembly in the South West should formulate an effecrive strategy and laws to domesticate the policy of reciprocity in their states like they did with the Amotekun law.

A more radical variant of this pragmatic policy was adopted and implemented by the Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Ibrahim Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto-led Northern Nigeria government in the 1st republic . It was very effective to quickly help Northern Nigeria ramp up human capacity and infrastructural development before the Premier's life was terminated violently on January 15, 1966.

Conclusion

Yoruba should not cheat Igbo and Igbo should not cheat Yoruba. Enough of this politics of lies, hate and bigotry every 4 years.

Reciprocity is the way out.

LAGOS GUBER & PLIGHT OF IGBOS: Law Of Reciprocity Is The Solution

Background

For weeks leading to the elections till now, I notice a profound tension and apprehension from the majority section of Igbo who do not respect and appreciate the warm reception they enjoy in Lagos. Please note that a minority of Igbo in Lagos are not part of the unappreciative tendencies fuelling the hostility the Yoruba now have against the Igbo in Lagos.

Since 1999, Lagos state government from under Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (1999-2007) till date has been giving free education , free health and employment to our Igbo visitors in Lagos like the Yoruba natives since we are all Nigerians.

This is no longer sustainable without reciprocity before it is too late as real danger looms. https://www.nairaland.com/7612989/lagos-guber-plight-igbo-law

See you guys want to start something that would swallow you. The term indigene is very unambiguous in rhe constitution. And it refers to people whose ancestral homes are within the confines of a state. Now Nigeria is divided across state lines, since that is the case and the speaker used the term indigenes then those from ogun and other SW states are not indigenes and the law affects them as well. Unless the law states that you are protected if you are a yoruba. But the law is clear with the term indigenes, yes Lagos is Yoruba land, but according to constitution if you are from Ogun and other SW states then you are also affected by the law. They just shot themselves on the foot.
