I think it is you who don't know where you are from. Most Yoruba descend from deported slaves and local slaves. The shame of their identity made them invent stories about their origin, now their great grand kids still hold on to those fairytales and have no clue of their origin.

Hope the law will protect big Yoruba churches so that non-Yorubas will no longer attend.

I hope the law will also prevent non-Yorubas from marrying Yorubas and vice versa.

I hope the law will also make sure that Yorubas will attends only Yorubas owned schools and hospitals vice versa.

I hope the law will also make sure that all the oil companies head offices relocate back to Nigerdelta, their operation base.

Hope the law will force Yorubas to start going to Europe, China and Japan to import spare parts for their cars

Hope the laws will also asked Zenith Bank, Access Bank, Fidelity Bank, standard chattered bank to employ more indigenes since they are not owned by Yorubas

The law should be all encompassing.

Ah dey tell you my guy. Too much sense you made

He is playing. When he was switching names from Chinedu to Gbadebo, yet can not speak a single correct complete sentence in Yoruba, insults Yoruba, Yoruba Leaders and Yoruba land on the social media, he did not know the Yoruba see his game. Smh.

He has lost the moral ground and it is in order to conclude that Chinedu Rhodes-Vivour is not Yoruba. It is unfortunate that characters like him misrepresented the silent minority of Igbo who remain patriotic and do not like the way Igbo like him are riling up their Yoruba hosts.

Here is a soft reminder to him that the law of reciprocity is a legitimate demand to stop the politics of hate, lies and bigotry every four four years.

Benefits of Law of Reciprocity
https://www.nairaland.com/7612989/lagos-guber-plight-igbo-law

The benefits are too numerous and sustainable.

Jobs will be more abundant to the Yoruba natives at home and away from home.

This reciprocity policy will help provide jobs and social benefits to all Yoruba in other states especially if this policy of reciprocity is adopted by all the southwest states.

It will equally help draw mostly talents and less of lazy or criminal elements to the Southwest from the South East which in turn will help improve the economy of Yoruba states and Yoruba living outside SW, especially in Igboland.

The Yoruba need the jobs here at home too and those resident in Igboland should benefit from jobs in Igboland so that the same privileges the Igbo benefit here in Yorubaland their govts are giving with reciprocity to the Yoruba.

Our economy in SW will grow in leaps and bounds with the policy reciprocity.

The State Executive councils and state Houses of Assembly in the South West should formulate an effecrive strategy and laws to domesticate the policy of reciprocity in their states like they did with the Amotekun law.

A more radical variant of this pragmatic policy was adopted and implemented by the Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Ibrahim Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto-led Northern Nigeria government in the 1st republic . It was very effective to quickly help Northern Nigeria ramp up human capacity and infrastructural development before the Premier's life was terminated violently on January 15, 1966.

Conclusion

Yoruba should not cheat Igbo and Igbo should not cheat Yoruba. Enough of this politics of lies, hate and bigotry every 4 years.

Reciprocity is the way out.

LAGOS GUBER & PLIGHT OF IGBOS: Law Of Reciprocity Is The Solution

Background

For weeks leading to the elections till now, I notice a profound tension and apprehension from the majority section of Igbo who do not respect and appreciate the warm reception they enjoy in Lagos. Please note that a minority of Igbo in Lagos are not part of the unappreciative tendencies fuelling the hostility the Yoruba now have against the Igbo in Lagos.

Since 1999, Lagos state government from under Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (1999-2007) till date has been giving free education , free health and employment to our Igbo visitors in Lagos like the Yoruba natives since we are all Nigerians.

This is no longer sustainable without reciprocity before it is too late as real danger looms. https://www.nairaland.com/7612989/lagos-guber-plight-igbo-law

When presented with facts, ignorant people laugh.
You see, it is not about what you feel, it is about reality, and what I said is well known by educated people which is not your case nor that of people around you.
You don't find it strange that you are all calling yourself "yoruba" which is actually the name of a Precolonial county also known as oyo kingdom ?
Then you have the laughable fairytales of Oduduwa and migration from Ife (which was a small settlement until 1912)

Some of your ancestors were slaves in the American continent and europe, some of them were local slaves.
You know what happened in Sierra Leone and Liberia (the deportation of slaves), it happened in Nigeria to a much greater extent, yet most of you know about Liberia and Sierra Leone, but don't know about your own ancestors having similar origins.

Even Canadian provinces have different laws that applies to resident of that province and if u live in another province you might not have adequate opportunities like those who are resident there. Is Florida not having thesame law or Wisconsin or Pennsylvania🤷. It’s not strange.

The lesson of the last election for Lagos is an eye opener. If you gladly welcome people into ur home and they are well treated and then turn around to say ur home is a no man’s land. I guess u ought to think twice. Hence the proposed law.

The thing is that Yoruba "history" keeps changing, you guys make your "history" according to your mood of the day.
Even your monarchs keep changing their titles.
Look at olubadan for example, in the early colonial era his title was "Bale", somehow he changed it to Olu (as in Olu of Warri)

Lagos is a small part of Yoruba land and as at 1970, it was much less populated than Ibadan. Presently the spread can not be much more than Ibadan and there is nothing special in the place. However nobody has ever given out their piece of land over to others even if it is a desert. Abuja is Gwari land and will remain Gwari land. Land is sacred to the people holding it and their ancestors have defended it for centuries. All other non Aworis that came to Lagos before colonisation got assimilated and became Yorubas and that is how things work. They bear Yoruba names and speak the language but are greeted according to where they came from. The main group like this being the Nupe. The standard rule is that if you did not conquer a place then you tread cautiously and get assimilated and you eventually become a citizen. A Yoruba saying goes Awolumate, iwon Ara e lo mo' A stranger who enters a city without being disgraced is one that knows his limits. As many Yorubas that choose to live in Owerri should endeavour to learn the language and culture of that place and respect them and he would gradually become Igbo if he chooses to stay there permanently. Any human being can become any ethnicity. An Awori or their Oba can be right to take anybody to court for calling Awori land a no man's land. Since when and by what means did the land become a no man's land?. It will irritate any human being and the court can award damages against the party causing distress by making such claims. Isn't it a simple matter of do unto others as you want others to do unto you?. Everybody have homeland and people who don't should seek one to adopt and become part of a community.

Their texts are still available to be read today. I provided some of those in the form of Precolonial maps and texts.

You don't know anything. You are still blinded and insane. Your history is a propaganda. There is a genuine history passed from generation to generation through the custodian of history. An IDEJO chief whom I discussed Social media issue of the legislation asked me to ignore you and your brothers. He said you are blind and insane for saying Olofin is a fairytale.

When you get to Isheri before Berger where we have OPIC, go and tell them at the Palace that Olofin is a fairytale.

There is a brief history of the Olofin Ogunfuminire on Kufo TV Facebook page.

Nooooo don't be a hypocrite here. The constitution which we follow in Nigeria defines an indigene as one whose ancestral home falls within the confines of the state, irrespective of your tribe. So if you are Yoruba from Ogun or other South west states. The law affects you as well. Don't say we are Yorubas na lie, the term indigenes is the game changer here

How's that your concern all the way from agulu?

Lagosians are Yorubas that's all that matters

If one Adebayo Timi from Ogun is going to obtain Lagos indigene certificate at the secretariat or Oba palace, you Okafor ibe from ebonyi can follow him to obtain it too, then you'll explain yourself there

If millions of people across West Africa, across four countries agree that Ife is the beginning of human kind and that the rulers were called Olofin, do you think that is to be taken lightly?. Over 100 million people in the Americas believe the tale too as passed down. It can not be taken lightly, written down or not. Why?. Simply because of the unanimity. The last Olofin also specifically mentioned to his kids that Nimrod is his father. That too can't be taken lightly because the name is not even a Yoruba name. No Yoruba as ever been named Lamurudu. Lies can be written down too and most lies are written down. But unanimity can not be taken lightly.

This GRV is an omo ale. Well GRV, there is nothing you can do about it. I am more lagosian than you. Yoruba is Yoruba in Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti, Lagos, Kwara and Osun. Any Yoruba in those states can be Yoruba in other states.

As for the hate filled people, they know themselves. You people come online to make noise all the time. Be rest assured, your Eze Ajao estate will remain in prison for a long time; that ladipo mechanic too will remain in jail. Lastly, you will be cut to the proper size until you learn to respect your host.

No other ethnic group can do this nonsense in your enclave. You have set yourselves back a few decades
