Morning Comrades. I need some inputs o as regards house and council tax. I stay in a studio Flat in a building which has about 6 studio flats room. And the father of the landlord actually told me it was all bills inclusive at first . I packed in paid 600 without any agreement papers. Along the week. His grandma died ,so he travelled to Pakistan. And just last mo th his son came and brought the agreement paper and nah that time he told me that it won't be all inclusive again. That the rent will now be 480 after so many arguments with him but water inclusive and I saw on the agreement that inclusive of council tax. Nah when I paid 480 last week. He come dey ask about my council tax to? He told me he doesn't know if am Exempted but I told him am not a student but I told him back that on the agreement u gave , u wrote it there that council tax is Exempted. Nah that time shocked though.

But my question now is that considering where I leave since its not a flat but a studio flat which has 6 different rooms. Am I expected to pay council tax separately or the whole house would be billed by the council and everyone will now pay or the landlord should divide it on every occupant . Cos ,these thing looks confusing to me o.

I don't know which is okay to accept. Maybe to accept 600£ all bills inclusive
Or 480 £ water inclusive ,but nah me go dey pay my electricity bill which is actually a prepaid . The issue gangan now is the amount I would paid for the council tax which am still in the dark about.

Elders. Abeg. Come o. Make this parkistan people no fari my head o grin

Hello All

Good Morning my Chairmen!

Can one apply for IHS refund after switching to Tier 2 visa?

Said person just finished Uni and then switched to Tier 2 via Care sponsorship

I was trying to say this few weeks ago but couldn't put the words together the way you have done it, probably cos I was at work and doing multiple things at the same time. Where I live so many Nigerians are home owners and living good lifestyle with the same healthcare job some are always running down on nairaland.

I have a friend whose service user lives
with learning disabilities and complex care, he just told social service he will be terminating his contract with the said service user, they have been enticing him with a lot of money, yet this guy
wont accept. I know a Nigerian big bro where i live who just built/remodelled a healthcare home with over a million pounds, some of us got here few months back but lucky to roll with "the people that know road"

I don't think this is a fair comparison to be honest. You can't compare a business/service owner to an employee.

Why I do not subscribe to the idea of belittling someone’s job or means of income as long as it's legit, HCA is also one of the least paid occupation on the skilled workers list, you only need to earn circa £20k to be eligible for sponsorship. So comparing those who own care services with those who work as an employee in the care sector is not painting a fair picture.

The UK is a service economy and people who owns service/consultancy firms be it care, tech, recruitment etc are kings.

Hmmm bro. Honestly I think you misconstrued the message I was trying to pass. I am on HCA dependent visa and I hope you know that I cannot be throwing a stone while I live in the glass house.

What I meant was than an HCA especially the dom usually pays higher insurance premium because of the risk inherent in their job. So the insurance thinks I am also an HCA but I was hiding it. More so, I am the one paying for my wife's insurance too who happens to an HCA. I believe it is clear now. Apologies once again. Na evening school I go and that is why I could not ensure clarity in my message.

Oga Op no vex, na evening school I also attend, hence my misdirection in quoting you. However the constant debasement of HCAs on this thread has become so much that it is beginning to look like a crime to be an healthcare assistant.

As long as it legitimately puts food on their table and help them pay their bills, then their hustle shouldn't be debased. Everyone has his/her priority. To some, it's getting a settled status faster while still making ends meet and HCA is obviously a surer bet to achieve that. Not everyone will be a financial, tech, engineering, business or data analyst or professional. In the same vein, it isn't a must that an engineer must practice engineering in the UK or an accountant must work in the big four or practice accounting. Circumstances makes us discover other career paths and innate abilities we never thought we will be capable of doing and for many, they are grateful they could find and embrace this new path.

In African China's voice: no take the job wey I dey do dey laugh.

Happy weekend fam.

Hi all,

Please if someone wants to switch employers under the health care visa and has been in the UK for less than a year, does the POF(as maintenance is not being taken care of) need to have been in the bank account for 28days as required when in Nigeria.

Thanks.

If you're less than 12 months in uk you'll need POF in your account for 28days

You people have come again. We can talk about how demeaning and unfair it is to make HCA look like they are doing something bad but there’s no need to assume that all others who are not in that field are lying about their jobs or pay. In a bid to speak on the bullying of HCA workers, make we no dey use style to turn around and do the same to others in different fields. Let’s all thrive together and banter respectfully on this thread irrespective of our jobs.

Good morning, and happy weekend. My wife and my baby are applying as dependents to join me in UK. I came into UK in January as a student.
I would like to know if the details in this consent letter for my son is ok, or if I need to remove/add some information

It looks Ok except the living arrangements (personal opinion though). I would rather it is presented as if there is a living arrangement already instead of the intention.

Just like schengen visa application where you need evidence of hotel booking (even though you haven't paid) instant of saying "I will book a hotel".

You also don't need to mention your current living condition. Consider the below:

We are responsible for his living arrangements and we will be staying at Charles Street, Leicester LE1 1AB. This is what I used and it was my office address because I had not booked airbnb at the time.

I also put my visa application number, passport number and IHS payment reference number with the child's visa application number, passport number and IHS reference number so that they can tie everything together.

I am not quite sure what you are asking as your story is not well writen. I assume you mean shared apartment rather than a studio. If it's a shared apartment, then it's highly likely that the council tax is one and shared between occupants of the building. I will like to think that £600 all inclusive is the better option.
On the terms in bold, na jail you wan dey go like this o. That term is deemed offensive. Please never use it.

Locate ur band. Then find your council and your ban and it will tell you annual payment which you will divide by 12
Council tax is paid per address .. so if all of you have same address then you are all liable for one amount

Funny how people like criticising. If one chose to pay in full their CC balance, how is that an issue. Not everyone would like to owe much on CC if they could afford it. I do same - I pay in full my CC balance, reuse and repay in full. It has its advantages when you are intentional about your targets and future. Ignore them my brother @Justwise, you are not alone on that table. Let them say whatever they want. Thanks for always sharing kiss

If I am to send a letter to you. Will the address be the name of the building? Or the name of your studio? What will be different if I am to send a letter to the guy occupying the ‘room’ next to yours?

It's the house number , which is number 14. That's what it will bring out once u type my postcode online. Nothing like room a ,b ,c, d, e.
