If the general population of men in the world or Nigeria in particular are truly lazy, then there would be a pandemic.

The problem is that you failed to appreciate men with small and tiny jobs that i think you look at them with disdain.

Lets start from public transport to farmers to hunters to engineers, to IT support to rig drillers to well diggers to miners to .....blah blah blah even fashion industry where population of women are higher but men own majority of these fashion companies

People dont appreciate men for their work and men never cared whether they apprepriate them or not as compared to women.

Women/females make too much noise as if they do everything.

If you go to the market, you will see majority to be women but you will still see men there. Afterall who will carry the food from north down to south day and night over a very long distance.

Men runing around in market to carry heavy loads. Men butchering animals such as cows and goats etc to sell to people. We have minority of women here

Goto big companies, so you think just because a woman is the general manager, she can truly run the company, No. Men who are loyal held up the company but no one took notice of that. What they saw is the woman doing a great job.

Assuming a woman is the president of a nation, tell me, do you think she can rule the country if she does not have men's protection or men loyal to her. If men decide to take her head from the seat of leadership, nothing can save her.

You see if men run the world like this,
Minority of men will be lazy as we also have women to be lazy.

You just have to look at the angle you see things.

Just because you see some people drinking beer at a parlor in the evening doesnt mean every one of them is lazy.

Everything is just your perception of viewing however you should not limit it to your locality or make conclusion based on your view of men.

The agonising part is that,they now rely on what the woman or their wives rake in just to survive. Many women especially the married ones are now competing with young girls in having boyfriends all around just for the money to take care of one lazy bunch at home.

Men,rise up to the occasion and stop killing your wives with over work and help them to grow and make them better wives devoid of infidelity. It is ur actions that is pushing ur wives outside.

Stop wasting the little u have on betnaija shops and expect nothing back because u are simply wasting away.

What I know is men put themselves under pressure these days. That's after the society, government and family pressure.
Some go into marriage that eventually are devoid of peace or prosperity.

You see a man bubbling with life making good of of his youth, creativity and income and all of a sudden he finds himself struggling inside a strange marriage .

Its only in your region. Its not general. Generally, Nigerian men are dying more than their female folks because of too much responsibility. Even the suicide statistics released the other day showed over 70 men committed suicide while only 9 female committed suicide in Nigeria this year. If you said in yorubaland alone; we would have concurred.

I wholeheartedly agree with this OP about men becoming lazy and unproductive, in my area they are countless and from all the tribes without exception, in my street alone you see as many as up to seven married men who gathers in frontages discussing and gossiping about one another, playing games like whot, arguing about chealea, arsenal and man u and they all knows the current salary of Harland and bukayo saka, infact they are currently sick now that the premier league is on break, but one common feature about them is that they are extremely fertile because there's no month that we don't have naming ceremonies among this set of men

Men being lazy does not magically begins from old age, it starts from the youthful days, and I'm sure the wives didn't get to know their husbands from older age, and I'm also sure that they must have seen the red flag and signs of laziness from the very beginning during courtship and dating, but chose to ignore due to useless love that blinded their eyes.

This was the same reason why I didn't marry from my state. I lost both parents (may their souls continue resting in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen) at a very tender age, and as such, didn't have the time to look fresh like other guys because, I devoted all my time building myself and hustling to survive, raising funds for my tuition fees at Unizik.

There's this lady from my state that I would have married in those days, but guess what; she said I was too local for her liking. She started rolling with big boys in the hood and luckily for her, she ended up with one, they got married, I became devastated because I loved her as at that time, it also delayed my chances of getting married for a very long time. After about 4years into their marriage, the husband was traveling from portharcourt to somewhere in Abuja to deliver a consignment but nabbed by the NDLEA and consequently arrested by the agency. He was charged and jailed, but because he had strong legal backups, he was given a lighter sentence. He served for not up to 1 year and was out of the jail. Because he doesn't have any handwork, he isn't educated, in short, he doesn't have any humanly possible skills to start a new life after being released from the prison and his properties confiscated, he started roaming around the city, drinking excessive alcohol, spending time in lotto centers and betting centers while she caters for the wellbeing of the family and payment of bill.

One day, she became fed up and said enough is enough. she filed for a divorce and it was granted. She disappeared with her kids.

That's why we talk about a working system, urging men to push for ideal leaders based on ideal values, but most will rather chose by tribal sentiments than anything else and end up losing their women to few cabals with money bags. Their women would then turn around to describe them as lazy.

seriously bro you're right. Lots of children taking responsibility of the family at a very young age when their parents isn't capable anymore. This has led lots of children into crime like Yahoo Yahoo, rituals, robbery et al. Most poor or average home, their children are responsible for their survival mostly. They give birth to children they couldn't cater for. Most poor homes has nothing less than 4 children. Very few has 3. That is one of the cause of poverty. Lots of Men had become women now because they couldn't live up to expectations. They couldn't provide for their families. Some men had even reduced to nothing. Women has more value and respect than them. I have them in my neighbourhood. Although they're not sitting idle but they are just poor.
