If you are not ready for the village life, let him go alone. Just pick your kids and run away, may be to one of your family members house (parents, uncle, aunty, etc). Simple

For a minute I thought it was relocating abroad.
Anyways it seems your husband is a very lazy man... My dear nothing dey village, honestly if u go to the village at a young age, people that stay in village are all rascals and irresponsible.cultist and gossipers... Village wey uncle dey sleep with aunty, na village adultery dey happen pass because of joblessness. Na for village wey I see cousins dey knack theirs elves and if elders talk, him go collect, na village wey I see young boys dey knack elderly man wife and if the husband talk, him go collect, the wife self go dey defend the young boy.. Wetin my eyes see for village that year, God forbid bad thing.. Infact never ever bring up a child in village.. Allow your lazy husband to go alone... No sha follow am...

Good afternoon everyone, pls I urgently need your advice and suggestions on this.

My husband has been out of job since towards the end of last year. Almost the same time I had my second baby. The truth is, the same me nursing my baby has been the same person struggling to provide for the home.

Knowing that he contributed to his lost of job. He goes to work late, different excuses, doing the job anyhow that the management had to fire him. This is the second job he's losing due to carelessness.
He wasn't still meeting up with responsibilities even when he had those jobs. He was always complaining of TP expenses, deduction due to late coming, his salaries was not benefiting us.

Our present accomodation of 250k, one bedroom apartment is expiring ending of next month and I don't know how we're going to pay for the rent. The previous rent I have always contributed when I had the money.
Presently I have no job. I left my job during delivery, but I'm hoping to start looking for job very soon. Yet, I'm not idle. I'm still trying with little business to cartar for the house.

The issue now is, he has arranged his stuffs preparing to relocate to the village and he wants us to go together because he can't afford to renew the rent.
I told him I can't go to the village with him, we are too young to start retiring to the village. What about good school for the children especially my first child? But he has decided to go without us, leaving us with the whole responsibilities.
I'm afraid, I can't afford everything here either. But going with him to the village is also very scary. A man who ignore us when there's nothing in the house, waiting for me to fix, how can I trust him and relocate with my two children to his village? I can't speak their language and it's an interior village, How do we survive there?
He's not even considering all these.
Pls, advice me on what to do. I'm really fed up.

Sorry but your husband is lazy

I have not read two line I have seen pride in you. God help your husband. Any woman that can open her mouth to say she is the one providing for the house are dangerous women. That line was not necessary you can make your point without it. Well I couldn't read beyond that line because I might find words more irritating than that.

Actually your marriage just started. Most ladies think it is going to be rosy always.
The good thing is that he ain't blaming you for his predicament. Ensure that he stays away from pastors.
Two of you need to sit down and discuss. Everything is negotiable.

You must also be ready to admit that your marriage is on the verge of collapse because those widows in the village ain't playing and
those randy men in the city looking for financially distressed beautiful wives are always on the prowl.

Technically we as strangers should have no say in how your home is run, that should be between you and your husband. You alone should decide whether you want to maintain your family unit and move with him to the village, or risk the possibility of a separation between husband and wife, father and children by refusing to go with him. Either one you choose will have its own advantages and consequences so think about it carefully.
A third option might be to help him look for any job that can persuade him to stay in the city
You're not making sense!

Poor men need to stop getting married and giving birth to children.

The most important thing in life is happiness, not marriage or kids..

If you can't relocate to the village with your husband, then simply divorce him.... Divorce is essential most times.

Advise him to go for Keke or okada that's paid in instalments. He's a lazy ass. You described his going to work late, etc etc. So be a darling. Present it with zest and in a profitable manner that even the most lazy ass person can accept. Do it gently. Look for a cheaper acommodation. Or negotiate with the landlord to pay in 6 months after the rent has expired to give you enough time to gather money.

My sister, I see even women riding those Keke oh. Put your baby in a good daycare. Just imagine ladies who are widows. They still take care of their kids. You're young enough to hustle. Your hustle must shame your spouse, or he can stay and nurse baby while you work...if he can😊 You see those Keke and okada people earn more than most workers whose salaries are mostly spent on transport fares.

1. I think you shouldn't bother. Go to the village with him.

MANY NIGERIANS RELOCATED TO THE VILLAGE SINCE 2022 (HYPERINFLATION) --- MY VILLAGE IS ONE EXAMPLE.

2. You may see educated persons, young persons there. So it won't be too bad.

3. With time you will get something. I think he's move is right. Just take things as they come -- you will still arrive at the life you want to have. (You may relocate to your State capital city as years go by).

Instead of relocating to the Village due to your inability to pay the rent of 250k, why not move out from the current apartment to a lesser one?
Pls don't go to the village else witches will destroy your children. The witchcraft in the village are terrible and bloodthirsty.
The major concern now should be to get a new job, though I understand that you're still nursing your baby. Sadly, if ur husband wants u to follow him and relocate to the village, u don't have any alternative because if u disobey and decide to stay apart, meanings and different interpretations would be read into that decision of yours. His family members will start accusing u of doing prostitution now since your husband is no longer without a job

When u sign the pact ..'for better for worst' they are referring to situations like this, He is your husband, if he decides to move to village I will advice you to move with him, but if he says oya ni London you won't come here and be spewing all this thrash about him... The Truth is many village people are living quite comfortable than we in the city.. waking up 4am to join thirdmainland traffic to get to work or those in lekki spending hrs to get to work... inflation on the very high sides ... Everyone doing professional bambiaala to survive and also cooperate branding with red money in account all just to impress ....

Abeg move with ur husband to village ... U have spend some years in the city that should be an advantage for you to rule over your village people ....

Get to the village and see what they are lacking and work on it or what u can do in d villa that u know will sell more when it gets to city. Opportunities are bound in everywhere ..
My dear how many banks are in ur village if there is any that means they are doing fine cos no bank will berth where there is no money and progress...

Advice again for better for worst... Till death do u both part....
