Do you know that an investor who does not like risk who invested 200k per annum in a fund growing at 10% for the past 15 years would have compounded his investments to N7 million. 10% is a highly conservative return ooo.

Yet we have stock market investors who invested more than that for the past 15 years who don't have a portfolio of N6 million.

Now imagine if the fixed income investor increased his or her annual investments as his income increased over the last 15 years. Or invested N1 million per annum in the last 15 years

Consistentcy and investing in what one understands is very important.

Reason why some average investors have built a nine digit portfolio over their working life ie 25 years to 30 years. They know the importance of compounding and diversification in Investment portfolio growth

Trading can be very profitable, even on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX). I have posted evidence of this here before. Every single year since 2012, there have been more than five stocks that have returned over 100%. If my memory serves me correctly, I will check my previous post to confirm.

Patience, good screening, and good money management can yield at least 30% to 50% returns every year on the NGX through trading. However, capital also matters. I believe that anything more than 5 to 10 million naira will limit the number of trading opportunities available. There is not much liquidity in many stocks.

I think I am doing well for my self, but not significantly. I know that I will get there with continuous refinement and experience.
You are very correct. I did my findings on chams and discovered the service they sell is something that is profitable and demanding in the future. I adviced my wife to go for it since she was interested in kobo stock. That is the only kobo stock that has caught my attention, lol.She could not get 10m of it at her targeted price till it went above 30k.She is now interested in buying stock since I have been preaching about it for many yrs because I told her my div for last Yr and what it has grown to this yr

You will do very great with your maths background and dedications to find out. We have strong thing in common but won't say it...osita ta dimma

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday!
Is there any news on ARDOVA's acquisition and if it will still be listed/delisted from NSE after acquisition.

Thanks.

Very good, after investing for 22 years one should be able to make predictable investment income that can supplement pension at retirement.

I know some investors whose annual investment income is now more than their annual salary ,some are even double and more

Identifying such stocks on a consistent basis is the koko.

An investor with a N50 million and above portfolio won't do that. If not his portfolio will evaporate. I will recommend having 2 Stockbroking accounts for such people. Maybe having about N5 million to N10 million in a different account for speculation and trading

It is hard, I know, but I believe that stocks do not just move randomly; they give signals ahead of their movements. If you can decode these signals, you will be correct 70% or more of the time. There will be times when the signal is incorrect, and you will enter a trade that loses money. This is where good money management comes in. You need to have a plan for how much you are willing to risk on each trade, and you need to stick to that plan.

In addition to decoding signals, you also need to have a way to look for signals for all the stocks at once in parallel. This is where a stock screener comes in. A stock screener is a tool that allows you to filter stocks based on a variety of criteria, such as price, technical indicators. By using a stock screener, you can quickly identify stocks that are showing potential trading signals.

Then, you need to do your due diligence before entering any trade. This means understanding the stock's financials to some extent.

I also speculate ( but on highly liquid stocks) and also get loans to do so, but the maximum amount i can use for speculation should not exceed the total dividends i earned in the last 3 years (i keep records of the dividends and dividend growth) and my holding period is usually between 3 months to 18 months.

In all good money management and risk management are very important.

This requires too much time and energy for me. And comparing the performance with simpler strategies, one would wonder if it's worth it

I am also interested in learning about simpler, profitable trading strategies. I already use a buy-and-hold strategy with some stocks, so it doesn't count.

Oga correct me if I am missing it.SA (sentimental analysis) could be described as what is out thr on the street. Which could be politics, corruption, new investors, new policy, new direction in the economy. Insider dealings. Billionaire alignments, new contracts. etc.Or is this SA limited to some particular things
SA is anything outside FA and TA which could cause sustained rally in a stock for days consecutively. In addition to those you listed, traction is part of SA too. What traction is all about is that a stock just moves because others in the same industry are moving.

Not far if you are having fun with your investments.

Look at 2006 when the market was really crazy

A renowned Monkey Hunter had an investment newspaper, investment magazine, daily stock market radio programme, weekly TV stock market programme, Monthly National investment seminars, followers should be in hundreds of thousands if not more

A number of investors who bought some of the stocks he recommended are yet to recover their funds after 17 years, tens of billions of Naira are still trapped in Private Placement offering.

Unfortunately history will always repeat itself

Your question is too wide.
You need to be specific as per what you really want.
We have so many mutual funds and Fund managers with different underlying assets, fund sizes and different operating conditions under sec supervision and moreover this is stocks thread you can go to mutual funds thread perhaps after going through some pages you will be fine.

Looks like normal service has resumed.

Nigerian Breweries looks interesting with a double bottom. Price is approaching the neckline, above my indicators. Quiet accumulation ongoing with volume increasing.

As always, see profile.

If you want to be an investor, you need to dig deeper into the financials of the stock, read up all relevant information about the company. Ask relevant questions about
You complained about not having cash to harness certain opportunities, if you have good stocks cash should not be your problem. The stocks will give steady predictable cash flow, you can always pledge your shares as collateral for loans.

Just as a followup -

Buyers need to show who is in charge on the monthly, even with the incomplete data with a few more days to end the month.

Will the sellers admit defeat with momentum on the buyers side?

It is important to get that higher high, with a higher low already in place.

This week will tell it all - half year report by the real 'Mr Market' as well as end of the month report.

Too many variables at stake this week.

We shall sit back with popcorn in hand. grin grin

The higher the risk the higher the returns.

You can have Eurobond funds they give between 5% to 7% , good for devaluation risk. United Capital Asset Management can give one a maximum loan of N100 million against your Eurobond Fund or any of their Mutual Funds
