You can't possibly term my post as a rant, that is not nice at all, we are all here to gain and share knowledge.

I know that BOI or any other financial institution are not providing the funds for free, but it is also the right of every well meaning Nigeria to ask questions pertaining the cost of the project which they felt is on the high side because the money is theirs. If after the completion of the project and the institutions involved were unable to recoup their funds after the agreed
period due to the fact that the project cost is heavily padded from the onset , then AMCON will come in to bail out the institutions involved and the cycle continues. So AMCON is relevant in this discussion.

Nobody is spewing any hateful rant except that you might have been harbouring some sentiments that made you see criticism of your fellow compatriots as hateful rants.

To start with, your post was a rant simply because it is common sense that if you must opine that the cost is high, then you must have a detailed explanation and deep knowledge to share with us from your own experience in the power industry from the cost of labor, pre-project infrastructures, cost of fees and permits, cost of equipment, cost of importation and transportation of equipment, power management cost, cable and transmission cost, cost of power transformers, billing and power management cost and so on, once you are able to show us your own detail facts, then compare against this project for us to see.

See, all you people do is just run your mouth, you know nothing about anything, I cannot go to your house and say your house cost too much to build when in fact I know nothing about your house or the kind of material you used, your personal specifications whatever personal detail that the onlooker from outside cannot see.

Must everything be about tribe for heaven's sake!
So you shouldn't ask questions again if the cost of a project looks like a rip off simply because it's being done by your tribesman or being carried out in your state?
you are asking foolish questions. This is entirely private initiatives not govt. So whatever they arrive at is all about their business.

30MW power plant for 50 million dollars

Make una dey lie una hear

How much did winners build there 15mw power plant with

Where is Nigerian society of engineers when lies like this are flying around

There is really a gas pipeline to Lagos so what's the excuse... 20 million dollars can deliver this project

Is winners serving thousands and millions of people in different locations through cable and power transmission?

Do you have any idea about the type or specifications of the turbines required by both entities?

Did winners also spend money on metering, billing, and power management system for thousands or millions of people?

I don't know why many of you wear ignorance as a badge of honor.

And what exactly does it matter how much a private energy vendor spends on its privately owned plants? You and that "Mr Vitalis" buffoon never cease to amaze with your lethal combination of total ignorance with political jaundice.

What do you think about what is said at 3:41-3:57?

It is a lazy ignorant spiteful rant
You were not asking questions
But airing hatred
Questions you should ask is how they will spend the money not opine without basis that it is on the HIGH SIDE

HIGH COMPARED TO WHAT?
do you even understand the project?
This is a private project intended to provide electricity for wealthy clients in Victoria Island

IT IS EXPECTED TO SUPPLY THROUGH DEDICATED DISTRIBUTION NETWORK S EXCLUSIVELY. TO IDENTIFIED CUSTOMERS
Those are their words
dedicated distribution exclusively to identified clients

Take time to process what that means
Do you have a clue how much land it will need or the cost of land in VICTORIA ISLAND?

It is not a model for mass production and distribution of electricity for the masses.
It is targeting the rich generating power IN THEIR BACKYARD .FOR THEM
Not unlike what some Oil companies or Dangote is already doing in their estates.

Lagos economy is growing. It is now over $100 billion
That is double what it was 10 years ago
Can you tell us how many countries in the world have achieved that?
your premise that they have been unable to drive growth is untrue

That still leaves my question unanswered.

Lekki port in Lagos will drive economic growth.

Blue rail will drive economic growth.

Now this power plant will drive economic...

How many drivers does Lagos have? Up till now, why haven't they been unable to drive this economic growth?

Bros it's called loan scam
Jumo Ibrahim is expert in this

You buy or build a project A
Infliate the price and value of A(250% real value)
Call your partner in a bank to agree with your valuation
You can then take 75% loan of your value of A
That's 187% real value
Then you run it for a while sale parts you can sale
Default on your loan since the A is your collateral... Banks would now collect A
Seeing it's not the real value... Bank would call amcon who is the chief guarantee of all alone
Amcon buys of the loan from the bank... Try to run the business to gain back the money the rest is history

Dongote refinery is example, Nixon Hilton Nigeria, Arik, air Nigeria, news watch them plenty

6.4 billion dollars = 14,400 megawatts in Egypt.

13 Million dollars should give 30
megawatts.

But in Nigeria, they are using 50 million dollars to give 30 megawatts.

Do these two countries have same exchange rate. Ponder on that
