Weak people always fail to rise to the stage and play fair. You don`t need to drive them away, but play by the business rules. They will leave if you worthy. 2 Likes |

nedu666:You dey mind the fool? The sky is big enough for very everyone to fly. You can create a stiff competition instead of chasing out an investor. How many people shop in shoprite? Does everyone use mtn only? Reno always wants to impress and he ends up saying nonsense. How about other African countries drive away dangote and Bua and other Nigerian owned investments. And people are liking his comments 1 Like |

Urheadmaster: Sense Wow, do you know that ShopRite is now owned by a Nigerian? He talked about MTN, MTN is the largest network provider in Nigeria, so any tax you place on them will automatically mean that Nigerians will pay for it, check your data consumption for instance. There's no sense in what he said but a few. |

Acekidc4:you are very stupid then. If you have travelled to Ghana or Benin Republic and see how much they pay for Data and Calls, you go appreciate Mtn. You are more stupid because Shoprite Nigeria is now owned by a Nigerian 1 Like 1 Share |

What stupid sets of thoughts. Who will now employ the thousands of direct employees and millions of indirect employees/benefactors from these foreign companies? Will his ideas not kill competition and make these sole players in their fields lazy to innovate. So the states should just be doling lands to any jack that says he is a farmer? And then give them 250k? What bullocks? All those attempting Guinness World records will now become farmers na.. And as for the diaspora voting. You guys should stop this nonsense less we start hearing that there are 5 million Nigerian diaspora in Niger Republic or 4 million in Mali or 6 million in Northern Cameroon or 7 million in Tchad etc...... nlfpmod: |

Removing subsidies is not a bad idea per say. But you need to set the groundwork in place so that the masses do not suffer viz: Make your people brace themselves for its removal Get palliative ready Support Dangote refineries so a reasonable amount for pms is in place Provide monies to states and local governments to build their transport infrastructures... I think the end of 3024 would have been a better time for subsidies removal [quote author=LegendHero post=124507254]What he said sound good on paper, but in reality, it will be too counterproductive. If you do that to those foreign countries, other investors brining their money to your economy will be wary of doing that and investment into the country will reduce drastically. Even the said Nigerian companies might not be able to meet capacity. When we shut the border for food import, we thought our farmers and etc can ramp up production to increase supply internally but the reverse is the case. |

In any business the main beneficiaries are the workers then government that take income tax, dividends for investors is marginal. Someone doing business on your land is helping you and the only thing that is permissible to do is compete |
