Is there any red flag for schools (for visa approval) that waive WES evaluation for admission compare to others that made it compulsory?

Hello, I have been trying to process extension request from my school but it’s not forthcoming. My interview is 23rd of August, meanwhile resumption is 21st of August. Can I still show up for my interview?

For those having issue with their interview date coming after their resumption date ..
The first step is to inform your school about it .
Different schools have different approach to this situation. This is not a Nairaland question.
In my case, my school said they do not accept late arrival, so they deferred me to winter and gave me a new form I-20 .
I didn’t even have to start booking for emergency appointment. Now my resumption date moved from august to January and interview date is still august .
I did similar thing. Still going for my interview this August and already deferred till spring. Which I think will save my costs of flight tickets sef and be more relaxed if all goes well

Hello good people. Kindly advise me, as I plan on writing the GRE in the next few weeks but most of the schools on my list do not require GRE for my program. Although few do while it's optional for some. Would you advise I still write it?

My program of choice is in the biomedical sciences.

My people, kindly talk to me grin
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Leftrightcenter(m): 8:29pm On Aug 17, 2023
Why do you still want to write it when the schools you're interested in do not require it? Also, you can ask the schools if GRE is considered in decision making both for funding/scholarship or admission. I also think some schools would consider it if the CPGA is low or if the schools/programs you're going for are competitive. In summary, you can still go ahead and write especially if you have already booked the GRE, as you may never tell if it can be an added advantage.

Thanks for your response. I have a fair CGPA of 4.27/5 but I was hoping the GRE would make my profile very competitive, as I'm eyeing direct PhD. In that case, I'd have to drop the GRE and channel my energy towards other aspect of my application packet. Thank you once again.

Hi guys, so I already got an appointment for Feb 2024 but I would want to change somethings on my DS160.
If I fill in a new one can I just update my profile on the ustraveldocs portal?
And also would it affect my appointment date ? Or anything else ?

Literally as soon as you can see availability of date, depending on the location/consulate/embassy you are applying from.
However, it is good to calm you nerves down first, know what went wrong in the previous application and how your situation has changed.

WES evaluation is not a prerequisite for all schools, if it is you won't be given admission as such it will not affect your nonimmigrant visa, since you already have admission

Please I want to confirm this, someone told me US embassy don't usually approve applicant with mpower loan, how true is this?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by JMG12: 1:14pm On Aug 19, 2023
Hello, if you have paid for the exam then you should go ahead with it, but if otherwise then the choice is yours since most of the schools you are interested does not require it

"It will end in positive result"

Sorry for the nonimmigrant visa refusal, I will advice for you not to rush to reapply, you need to have good understanding the reason for the refusal so you won't be making the same mistake.

Most times what we think is/are the reason(s) for the refusal may or may not be. As you said too, switching from your uncle to your mother might be better as the later is much closer to you. However, you have to be prepared to give the reason why you're switching sponsorship and also the financial capability of your new sponsor. In your DS-160, you can also explain the reason(s) why you think you were denied... All the best.
